There's a metal fence around that home. I guess the owner wants to keep fans out because Home Alone was a huge hit back in the day which is why that house attracts so much attention.
@@australiamyway one mistake in the movie I caught was when Harry grabbed the hot door knob sidewalks, the letter M from the door knob on his hand was straight instead of sideways after he cooled his hand off in the snow.
As a kid the Home Alone house was my first impression of what I thought all US homes looked like. I thought wow must be so good to live in America if all the houses are 2 story with a basement and attic as well. How nieve I was as a 7 year old watching this movie for the first time , this is not the average US home from what I've seem on TV and films as a kid you about believe just anything
Also, the house actually doesn't have a basement. They even built in a fake staircase outside and added bricks around the sunroom to make it appear larger.
@@Suzie77 There were some Interior shots too. The Kitchen, Staircase, Attic, and Dining Room were actually used In the movie..I think the Master Bedroom was too..But I’m not sure.

Home Alones 1 & 2 were probably the only movies that Joe Pesci never cussed in because they were kids movies. The director probably told him to watch his mouth on the set.

Well this house was just used for the outside of the house most of the filming was done on a built set that was in a school gym
