I first sang this song at Camp Mini-Yo-Wee when I was nine years old. I think my dad had it on a bluegrass record as well. Originally in a major key, when I sing it now it somehow feels better in the minor!

I think this was quite well done. I find it interesting that the performance of a song with somewhat Christian lyrics is done with a literal physical idol on the shelf.
