@ATPGeo ---- Rachel Maddow, Sept 30, opening segment. Highly recommended. This segment is about J D Vance. Being an opening segment it's lengthy for a news broadcast but well worthwhile. The last part of it is extraordinary.
Thanks for this update Jonathan & I have to admit that I’ve long been disappointed with the Biden administration that the argument as to why the Ukraine war against Russian aggression is so important to U.S. geopolitical self-interest & how providing military aid makes economic sense has not been made to Americans. Instead, by allowing Trump’s & his allies gross misinformation & Russian perspective to be put forward on a daily basis has caused this polarisation especially within the Republican Party! Cheers & Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦 🇬🇧
2:28 We consistantly miss an important angle. One of the threats the situation presents is, the war could get a lot bigger. I don't know how likely, and neither does Vladimir Putin. IF the war blows up, we are going to need a mind boggling amount of weapons. THAT MEANS we need these factories sorted out and producing. Which Ukraine aid does.
I lashed out a bit today exactly about this, Dude '-No foreign aid before this is fixed', like what a eff, you gonna build a wall against hurricanes? Help is in place and helping not like trump going to Agosta and straining efforts by visiting areas for political gain..
👍 Good point Mika. Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears within some in the U.S. who blame every bad experience in life on anyone who they see as their enemy or who opposes their cult leader! Cheers.
It is easy to be so smug when it is not your family or country being destroyed. The way this US representative responded to the reporter is disgusting, number two behind Sullivan. Thanks JP.Slava Ukraine!!!
I can understand if there is advanced technology that Russia does not yet possess, however, not with weapons such as storm shadow that they already have collected debris from in sovereign Ukraine territory.
The money you’re talking about comes out of the defense budget. It can’t be used for disaster relief it has already been allocated. If you’re criticizing try the republicans for not allocating money for disaster relief in the new continuing resolution.

On the hurricane in America : with all our modern day weather forecasting capabilities, wind speed forecast, water level simulation environments, and so on and so on : how is it possible, that a hurricane known days in advance and advertised on all channels is able to wreak such havoc?
Trump gave a speech today in which he basically said that the war in Ukraine is going in a direction in which american boots on the ground will become inevitable and that he wouldn't allow that to happen. That was strategic insanity, childishly naive and has consequences for national security. Hasn't anybody explained to him what strategic ambiguity is and how important it is for national security? He is literally an elephant in a China shop. I hope that JP picks up on this. By doing that he threw strategic ambiguity to the wind and signaled to China: Okay, if you are going to invade Taiwan, do it under my watch, because I will just sit back and let it happen.
When discussing tarifs JP only stresses that consumers pick up the bill, and 'forgets' to mention that they create jobs because more expensive to produce domestic products can now compete. When it comes to US state aid to Ukraine he does exactly the opposite. He stresses the jobs that are created by ramping up arms production and the benefits for the economy but fails to mention that much of that ramping up of production is paid for by taxpayers. He seems to want to have it both ways depending on his own political aims, which I agree with by the way. These argumentative inconsistencies might go unnoticed by many. But for those of us who have studied logic, they are glaringly obvious. But I think that that might be one of the reasons why I watch all his blogs. It is very entertaining. He has very high epistemological and journalistic 'benchmarks' that he underlines with mostly debunct antiquated pseudo-philosophical jargon, but when it comes to actually argueing he throws all that out of the window and reverts to what I would call rhetorical pragmatism. It is as such very modern but also very socratic. Fascinating!
The internal beef between Andrii Yermak , Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and Lieutenant-General Kyrylo Budanov, chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues. After the sacking of Budanov's deputies, Viktor Zaitsev and Ihor Ostapenko, without consulting him or seeking his approval, the Spetstechnoexport enterprise has been transferred from Budanov to the Ministry of Defense. Spetstechnoexport is the second-largest Ukrainian foreign trade enterprise by turnover specializing in export and import of military and dual-purpose products and services globally as well as promoting innovations and military-technical cooperation and a potential source of kick-backs.
