It's Jess here and welcome to my channel where I share my ideas on DIY/Refashion by the simple but pretty way. It's fall now and I love layering in this season. So I made for myself an overall dress from a men's shirt. Therefore, I would love to share with you how I did it. This overall dress is very easy to make and just perfect for fall outfit idea. I love your men’s shirt DIY’s, you’re so talented! One thing that would help me out a lot is if you could explain what the measurements you’re marking down are based off, so I can measure it to my own body proportions and follow what you’ve measured to get your guide but to my own body. If that makes sense, I’m just finding it hard to follow sometimes when I’m not sure why you’re marking a particular measurement- hope that makes sense, Thankyou. ☺️
Bree Nicholas I measured base on my body size that I has noted in the description. My size is S (small) size. However, I'll try to show more detail on how to measure on the different bodies in my next videos. Thank you so much for your feedback 😍

This is so easy to follow! If I ever find a shirt long enough for me (I'm 6 feet tall) I'm absolutely doing this!
I am 5'5 but kind of chub and I like tea length. I'm thinking of using this just to make the top part and then attaching it to a skirt I already have. :3
Look at thrift shops for xxl shirts, or even make the top "bib" part from the sleeve so you can have more length :)

I'm gonna transform all of my dad's old shirts now.

I did this using one of my brothers old denim shirts and it turned out beautifully!! I replaced the pocket that was on it and now there's a big dark blue spot where it used to be, so I'm going to embroider some flowers on it. So far, I love it!

The result is really nice-looking and inspiring but iron seams more often. I even would say always. Then your clothes would look neater. Almost after each sewing step goes the ironing step. For ironing such delicate fabrics you may use a wet terry towel as a layer between the iron and the fabric.

I think I would have left the original shirt bottom for a cute curved hem.
Same that's what I was thinking
Also you may gain a couple of centimeters
And you don't have to sew the bottom ;)
I also like the original hem line and it is a bit longer. I would love to wear something like this, but it is for those who can actually wear it and look good wearing it. Great job !
