This video came out 14 days before my dad passed away. Thank you for giving me inspiration to how I can make use of his shirts, and get to use them in the memory of him.
I have so many of my dads old shirts that he doesn’t wear anymore, I knew I should save them for something and I finally know exactly what I can do with them! thank you so much for these tutorials!!
I have made this several times now, with different fabrics. It is easy to make and a got cute result. Looove that you give measurements for every cut. Thank you, you have a new suscriber
Thank you for the tutorial! Overall dresses are so cute, I never would have thought to have made one from a men's shirt- and I love the fabric on the one you picked out!
I did this using one of my brothers old denim shirts and it turned out beautifully!! I replaced the pocket that was on it and now there's a big dark blue spot where it used to be, so I'm going to embroider some flowers on it. So far, I love it!
So cute. I love corduroy but I can never make it look cool. 13:53 ...The indentation of the old pocket... i think you could've put it back on as an extra pocket.
I love your men’s shirt DIY’s, you’re so talented! One thing that would help me out a lot is if you could explain what the measurements you’re marking down are based off, so I can measure it to my own body proportions and follow what you’ve measured to get your guide but to my own body. If that makes sense, I’m just finding it hard to follow sometimes when I’m not sure why you’re marking a particular measurement- hope that makes sense, Thankyou. ☺️
Bree Nicholas I measured base on my body size that I has noted in the description. My size is S (small) size. However, I'll try to show more detail on how to measure on the different bodies in my next videos. Thank you so much for your feedback 😍
I was also wondering and just checked the description box to find out my measurements are exactly the same! I guess I have to make that dress now, it turned out so cute on you! Really nice DIY 😻 Greetings from Germany
Me gusta esa forma de explicar aunque yo hable español la felicito explica muy bien un saludo desde COLOMBIA que Dios la bendiga siempre un saludo desde COLOMBIA 🇨🇴
I am 5'5 but kind of chub and I like tea length. I'm thinking of using this just to make the top part and then attaching it to a skirt I already have. :3
I have the exact same shirt! Well, my dad does. He doesn't wear it anymore so I've been thinking what to do with it and this is just amazing. I will try it! Thank you! You're a genius! Greetings from Argentina.
This dress is amazing!! I found some fabric at a Joann’s that is very similar to this, but I wasn’t sure how many yards would make a size small? Lovely tutorial!
@@JessDangDIY Yes! The blue circle tool you used to cut and mark your fabric. Do you know what brand it is or what it's called? I couldn't find it on google.
I also like the original hem line and it is a bit longer. I would love to wear something like this, but it is for those who can actually wear it and look good wearing it. Great job !
The result is really nice-looking and inspiring but iron seams more often. I even would say always. Then your clothes would look neater. Almost after each sewing step goes the ironing step. For ironing such delicate fabrics you may use a wet terry towel as a layer between the iron and the fabric.
I loved it!!! Super easy and well explained!!! ❤️ Thank you very much, I'll try to make a video following your video!! I think it's a great idea. Now I just need to find one of dad's old shirts, he was a wonderful designer... But he passed away 6 years ago, so I kept his sewing machines, I'll so start to sew so he can be proud of me😭😭😭😭
I might've tried using mock French seams to attach the front and back and sewn the front shut (I don't really like button-ups 😅), but this looks really cute. Nicely done! 💛
Woow!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!! II will start studying cutting and sewing soon and when I am ready I will make this beautiful dress. I can't wait for it!.

This is so easy to follow! If I ever find a shirt long enough for me (I'm 6 feet tall) I'm absolutely doing this!
I am 5'5 but kind of chub and I like tea length. I'm thinking of using this just to make the top part and then attaching it to a skirt I already have. :3
Look at thrift shops for xxl shirts, or even make the top "bib" part from the sleeve so you can have more length :)
Amazing transformation of clothes... Thanks for sharing... Hope to see more of your videos...

So cute for fall!🍁🍂
This dress is amazing!! I found some fabric at a Joann’s that is very similar to this, but I wasn’t sure how many yards would make a size small? Lovely tutorial!
Courtney H Thank you 🥰 I think 2m of fabric is enough for small size
Jess Dang Thank you! 😊
i love what you did! i'm wondering if you know the exact tool you used to cut the fabric.
Thank you. But I don't really know what you mean here. Did you ask for the scissors I used?
@@JessDangDIY Yes! The blue circle tool you used to cut and mark your fabric. Do you know what brand it is or what it's called? I couldn't find it on google.
I love it ❤. You did a great job🤗
Thank you! 😊

Thanks so much 😊 And don't forget to join me in the "Me-made summer challenge" :)
The end result was beautiful! How long the overall end up being? Would I be able to wear it if I'm tall?
dani frau You can wear it even you're tall. I'm 165cm. Because you can control the ties to fix to your tall
Hi jess♡ I love this diy however can u please tell me the measurements u have taken please. Thank u💜💜
I measured this DIY for my body size (small size). Here's my body measurement for your reference: 82-64-92
It is adorable..fantastic
Thank you! 😊
Love it, adorable.
I think I would have left the original shirt bottom for a cute curved hem.
Same that's what I was thinking
Also you may gain a couple of centimeters
And you don't have to sew the bottom ;)
I also like the original hem line and it is a bit longer. I would love to wear something like this, but it is for those who can actually wear it and look good wearing it. Great job !
The result is really nice-looking and inspiring but iron seams more often. I even would say always. Then your clothes would look neater. Almost after each sewing step goes the ironing step. For ironing such delicate fabrics you may use a wet terry towel as a layer between the iron and the fabric.
Елена Барышева thank you for feedback. But I use the water iron. So it won't damage the fabric as the normal one.
@@JessDangDIY that's cool!
I really love this video! Thank you for sharing. One question I have is if I want to make this a bit bigger, how would I adjust the measurements?
Nivedita N You can make the bust size and hip size bigger with 2-4cm extra
@@JessDangDIY Thank you! ☺️
Love this diy!
Thank you!

Nicely shown😍
Thanks!
I might've tried using mock French seams to attach the front and back and sewn the front shut (I don't really like button-ups 😅), but this looks really cute. Nicely done! 💛
Great tip!
It was so cute💗💖 can you tell me of what type fabric shirt was made of?
