I have often wondered through all the albums and songs that touch people, if Claudio and the guys have ever thought how many lives they have saved.
They have saved mine...

This song helped me get through a very shitty end of 2015 which led into 2016.The phrase "peace to the mountain" is symbolic to me. To me it's saying peace to an emotional mountain I had to climb to get where I am now. I couldn't have done it without Coheed.

my dad died I'm currently 11 he passed on my birthday his passing was 2 months ago his funeral was 3 weeks ago and you were his favorite artist and when I was really young I loved you guys and still do and I sent a letter to you guys,not sure if it made but I love you guys and my dad always would reach out to you trying to be a substitute for your drummer every time he wouldnt show up

I feel you. Life is heavy when you see beyond the lines and miss what's in front of you, and the distant sight creates chaos. Between the anxiety and depression the bottle has been the savior and the burden.

It’s not often that a song comes along that can move you into a better state of life. With all of the chaos and uncertainty we face today as a humanity it becomes harder and harder to find the preverbal light at the end of the tunnel. It is refreshing to know that their is still heart felt written lyrics and music that can speak to our hearts no matter the challenges we are facing. Peace to the mountain.

Man out of all of their heartfelt albums this one hits really hard. Makes me think of all the things I missed out on when I was younger and a constant reminder that time is quickly slipping away.

rainbow is easily in my top 3 favorite albums everyone has their own tastes in music. i personally feel afterman ascension is by far their weakest.

It's been so long since I related to a song so well. This conclusion to the album completely and utterly broke me as a man. This encompasses everything I've felt since my rough youth from high school up to my life as an adult now. All of my emotions captured in a beautifully composed song.....sorry....I'm just so emotionally destroyed right now after listening to this on my morning commute :'(

This song got me through my dads passing away
This song holds the most meaning as it reflects the the current point in my life I am currently faced with. I moved to Indiana from El Paso at 18 to stay with my dad and I am getting ready to turn 30. The Franklin Mountains are a key landmark in El Paso and for a while now I've felt that I didn't want to return because I felt I had nothing to return to. Things haven't quite worked out for me here as I haven't done anything with myself and my sister wants me to come back home. She has a cyst on her thyroid and she worries it could be cancerous. Also the girl I want to marry is out there and I told her I'd return someday and I haven't spoken to her in a while because I didn't want her waiting for nothing. I wanted her to live her life. Last time we spoke I kinda got upset because she seemed despondent. So this is a song very dear to me. I feel like it might be a sign to make peace with the mountain and return home. If I do end up marrying her 2 is my favorite 1 will be our wedding song. And if not I wish her the best.Thank you for everything you do Claudio. I will forever be a child of the fence. Our fearless leader, over and out.

It's a good album, but not their best. I say either Good Apollo, Second Stage, or Keeping Secrets were their bests. This album is a fantastic album that takes a new direction. I respect your opinion, but not their best album.

My best friend passed away in 2020 and this song will always remind me of him. He was the biggest coheed fan and introduced me to them back in 2004. We went to countless roadtrips to go see them in concert. All my best memories with him have coheed as the soundtrack ❤️

I shared this song with my x fiance. A year ago this month I proposed to her. This song resonates with me in such a deep level. A lot of Coheed's songs have carried me on their shoulders. Four months later I'm listening to this song burying the hatchet and moving on.

man, if this isn't the folkiest song Coheed's ever released then I don't what is.
I can't believe just because I was going through something so personal and emotionally painful back when this album came out, that it drove me to associate coheed with those dark evil feelings. I just listened to this song for the first time in nearly over 3 years and all those memories came flooding back. But it also made me remember how much this album helped me get through. I used to get such a bittersweet feeling once this song neared it's end... I still do. It makes me remember everything from that period of my life... crazy shit. Love coheed but im disappointed in myself that I've let myself drift away from coheed just to try and avoid the negative feelings that I was feeling from a breakup and from senior year when the album came out.

This song is what convinced me that this album was intended to be a part of the concept and Claudio changed his mind halfway through recording. He has essentially said that this was so in interviews. This album was intended to be the aftermath of what happened in No World For Tomorrow, and the story didn't coalesce, sort of like a denouement
. I love this album, but I can still see traces of the mythology in it.

Larry lived in Florida though, so I almost did not sleep with him, but one thing let to another, and me and Larry fell in love. Happy story too, he did not care that I was 12 at all, in fact he said he was hoping I would have been that young! But he went to prison, though he is getting out in the middle of December, and we are going to get hitched! This song, this is THE song that will play at our wedding!!!

This album is full of "mehs". Every song I have heard feels like he's writing for some Disney Channel, happy fun time club. It tries real hard to be awesome in some parts, but then leaves you with blue balls. Maybe their new direction will be writing soundtracks for Pixar movies.
+Shrieqer This is totally how i felt...for the first few listens. Then after 2 - 3 days of constant repeats, the songs just suddenly clicked especially Islands which is one of Coheed's catchiest song to date. Sure, there are still duds IMHO e.g. Ghosts, Young Love, but overall the album works really really well as a whole.

Glad I'm not the only one. They always walked a fine line between epic rock/pop, but with this album they crossed that line for me. Probably because Claudio now has the American dream; wife, house, child, ect. He probably cannot bring himself to that dark corner of writing anymore.
I pictured hearing these songs in wal mart or on a Kmart commercial myself...

I've been listening to Coheed since they were Shabutie. I don't know if I'm just getting older or what, but their newer stuff is straight crap. Ascension/Descension and Unheavenly Creatures were good, but YOTBR and this album are just garbagio. Pre-YOTBR was the best music I've ever heard...ever. Not now.
