Kayak Fishing for Big Cutthroat Trout at Scofield Reservoir

- Thanks for taking time out of your day to watch this video. On today's adventure I find myself at Scofield Reservoir. Over all, I had a good day of fishing and catching trout, but I dealt with probably the roughest winds and battled the biggest whitecaps in my kayaking experiences to date. My LifeTime Tamarak did ok, but I ended up pretty soaked from the waves and splashes. Unfortunately half way through the day my GoPro froze and stopped recording so this video only shows a fraction of the fish I was able to catch.

I was nervous when the water was coming over the top of the kayak and I was paddling and I wasn't moving. haha

Yes it caught me off guard. I drifted all the way to the dam. then I had to paddle in to the wind and waves all the way back. Its was a work out. Happy Fathers Day Stacy!

@@baitnbullets Yes, I caught a 17” Cutty and a 17and 1/2” rainbow and my wife caught a 20” Cutty! But no luck on the Jake’s lure. lol. We caught them at what used to be the ladders.

What Kayak You Use?
Ive Looked At Few But Not Many Have Fish Finder Mounts.
I bought this Kayak a few years ago to try Kayak fishing and it turns out that I like it!
this Kayak is a Tamarak angler made by Lifetime. this kayak doesn't come with a fish finder mount. I added it after I bought it. Looks like it is on sell for $24.00 right now on amazon. Hope this helps.

yes this is the Garmin Striker 4. I am super happy with the the strike 4. For a budget Fish finder I am super happy with it! It does great marking fish and depth. I love how you can see your lure as well. So if you see a fish above or below your lure you can reel up or down to the fish. Its a game changer! I Don't go fishing with out it.
I also use the same fish finder for the ice season!
