Thanks for another informative video. I find your chatting very informative, as it helps me (with no building experience) to understand why you are doing what you are doing, and how you are planing ahead, and what to take into consideration. Keep up the good work, and keep Peanut out of the shower! :)
I remember the episode when this was a fabricated metal frame.. Been following since. Great channel Dan, I will show some support after some bills are paid.
I can find a trailor. So I think I'm going to cheat and buy one of those sheds and go from there. They said if I ever move they will move it for me. I am going on Monday to ask if I'm going to have to have a cement slab under it. I guess I need to find out if they will let me go total off grid in this county.
Oh my god, i remember the times i fixed/installed the shower in the shithole dorm i live in. It was (allways) in the middle of the night, and i was dirty, and wanted to take a shower, and got fiberglass all over my arms, rashing like fuck. The underside of a shower in our "dorm" isn't clean, it's fucking disgusting. I was hungry, tired, and had school the next day. It was horrible, but when i think back on it i can't help but find the humor in it. Haha, I hope this place burns down after i move.
Raised the floor under my shower too. Oops when the lady of the house comes around she will want the shower to have a ledge to rest her foot on to shave her legs. Take that stall back and exchange it. Ha! That's what happened to me.
Watch out with the shower because a couple had their shower under their loft and they ended up with mold because all the wood above it got moist and started growing mold because of the humidity
Nice video Dan. I noticed you used roxul in the floor and now in the walls. May I ask why you decided on roxul? Perhaps you've answered this already, if so, sorry for repeating it here but I'm very interested. I've looked at the product and it is a bit expensive. Maybe you know where I could find it at a reasonable price. Seems to be the easiest insulation to work with. thanks, Mark
+RawTubeTV Seek and ye shall find.... I just did a search of all of your vids and found the Roxul install vid in the floor. Looks great and easy to install. thanks Dan!
From the showers I've seen they tend to rest on the floor. Are you going to create a base for the shower? One that will support the entire floor of the shower. Thanks
Tiny House Customs Sorry I did't craft my question well. I was asking if the elevated floor had multiple contact points with the bottom of the shower. So as to support the bottom not just around the edges.
+Tiny House Customs - Uh, it keeps stinky sewer gases from travelling up through the drain pipes into the living space. They are tough to install under a shower because they take up a lot of vertical space. The Hepvo trap is mostly horizontal.
+Tiny House Customs - It will be reduced but even old dish water will begin to smell once the food particles begin to rot. Having a 'master' p-trap for the whole house should do the job.

Do the next videos touch on how you ran the water outside? Or did I miss a video?
Never mind, I see what you did.
From the showers I've seen they tend to rest on the floor. Are you going to create a base for the shower? One that will support the entire floor of the shower.

Next week you'll see how I finish the install. But yes there's an elevated floor for the plumbing to run in.
Tiny House Customs Sorry I did't craft my question well. I was asking if the elevated floor had multiple contact points with the bottom of the shower. So as to support the bottom not just around the edges.
+1timby oh.. Yes. It's gonna be plywood. Complete contact all around.
Why are you running water lines in outside walls? You must live where it's not below 32f , 0c.
You have to watch my "rough plumbing" video.
did you think about doing a fund raiser on "gofundme.com"?
How tall is your tiny house inside
I can not find a trailor i meant.
Your Videos rock! Say "Hi" to peanut for me.
Thanks man.
I'm guessing that you have a p-trap somewhere down the line but was wondering if you considered using a Hepvo trap?
What does a p-trap do?
+Tiny House Customs - Uh, it keeps stinky sewer gases from travelling up through the drain pipes into the living space. They are tough to install under a shower because they take up a lot of vertical space. The Hepvo trap is mostly horizontal.
So what if there's no black water? There shouldn't be any odors? Right?
+Tiny House Customs - It will be reduced but even old dish water will begin to smell once the food particles begin to rot. Having a 'master' p-trap for the whole house should do the job.
That was the plan. when I got to that point I didn't put it, but it's been fine. No odor.
