I find the King c to be a great shave, BUT that slickness is real, they should add some sort of extra knurling at the bottom or something because other than that it's a pretty fantastic razor that you can pickup almost everywhere.
Technique is critical to shaving, we both agree on that. And the King C Gillette does a very good job. There's lots of shaving snobs out there but having grown a thick coarse beard with dense think whiskers, I am proof that this razor is works.
Excellent review of these razors... I bought the King C Gillette razor recently...But i ordered a RazoRock Bulldog handle and replaced the original handle with it...Works like a charm....😁😊
Great shave and thanks for the comparison. I think they perform very identically. But with a Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless blade (the green one), the King C Gillette planer offers fantastic results. Best regards from Hanover / Germany.
My pleasure. We both agree they perform the similarly. I should try the 7 o'clock green, I have a pack in my blades box. It's a great value for money razor!
I bought the King C Gilltte for $20 AUD a year ago. My first DE razor and blown away at the quality for such a low price. Recently purchased a Edwin Jeggar D89 head just for comparison (it was $25 AUD).
I do have a question, when mhule is not fully screw to the bolt does have a play în the handle? My GCK does have a bit and i wonder if the mhule is a better build quality, can you tell me? Let's say that you screw the handle only a half, do they both have a loose play on that bolt. Thank you very much and great video, you made me change to a safety razor (classic razor as we call them here in Romenia).
I have several razors like some of us addicts. My latest is the Gillette KC. Somehow, I think that my fav. may still be my Rockwell. 6 with a Feather blade. I like to find good in all of them. I don't want them to feel left out Loved the vid. and I don't think you look like a Terrorist at all.🧔♂
Hello friend I love king c gillette but I have noticed compared to other safety razors, that it does not rush you much, does the same thing happen to you? I see that it is soft but it does not rush much.
I do see what you mean. I think it's to do with the weight of the razor and the fact that is so mild yet fairly efficient. When a razor can be used like this, I find it enjoyable because I don't have to be on my toes as with a very aggressive razor. I think you are just enjoying it. It was obvious the first time I used it, I was pleasantly surprised by it.
@@enriquerubio3281 It is a mild shave, however it can certainly achieve a close shave, technique and blade choice are important factors. "Buffing" against the grain will certainly achieve a 'close comfortable shave'. No doubt. Technique is key. More aggressive razors will obviously be able to achieve better results in less time.
Ola Guilherme! I was in Brazil about 10 years ago, such a beautiful country and amazing culture! The R89 is beautiful razor, especially in rose gold! It shaves well. Welcome from Australia.
Agree the KCG handle is way too long and although it has an Art Deco style look it can get slippery. I like the terrific mild shave it delivers which I think everyone can use. Punches above its price point.
Identical shaves... King C Gillette has a nice weight to it and a longer handle. Muhle has better grip but lighter. They are about the same and I would be happy to use either one. Both can be used as daily shavers without irritation. The King C Gillette is better value for money for sure as the Muhle is twice the price. As they shave pretty much the same, I can't say there's a winner. Same overall.
@@enriquerubio3281 King C Gillette is excellent. It is a very impressive razor to be honest. Great look, nice weight and the shave is mild but does a great job. A razor anyone can be proud to own. It is what it is and it is a good thing! I say that without any bias.

I use king c and it does the job with all well known blades. You are right my friend it also depends on shave technique.

I replaced the KCG handle with the RazoRock knurled handle. And suddenly the razor works just great.

And? How do they compare?
A shave with the Mühle R89 it`s like you`re using the "autopilot" in a plane...
Greetings from Germany, Berlin ! 😎
Would that be Airbus or Boeing?
@@Eastbirds_Lee better Airbus - Boing crashes often...;)
😂 i agree tho. Mühle R89 is very easy to handle and delivers smooth results.
Simple answer changed the handle on the king c gillet for so think you like more there are plenty of custome handles out there
And the Gillette handle is whery slippery, whilst the RazoRock Bulldog handle is rugged and non slippery

Nice review ..

King C Gillette for value for money! That'd be my pick if I had to choose between the two.

King C. Gillette provides better shaving experience. Period.
KcG is a great razor, no doubt about it and it is better value.
Its a smother shaving with muhle r89 or not thanks
Hi Brijanje, yes, I would say the King C Gillette is smoother, but on the first pass you will need to work more as it is mild.
