Since I work in customer service, a lot of stories that I have heard from people, both employees and customers demeaning each other for one reason or another, really bothers me. I love your videos, but I rage whenever you refer to American "biscuits" as "scones". I don't think they're the same thing, and it's such a trivial thing, but... AAAAAAAARGH!
When someone walks into a public restroom and yells "O, my golly, it smells like poo-poo in here!" I want to scream, "What did you think goes on in there? What did you think it would smell like? It's a room for poo-poo, so it smells like poo-poo. Please, hush up and keep the line moving."
Hi Diane! I hate when I hit my toe on things. The other day, my copy of "A Christmas Carol" just fell on my toe. It hurts like the Dickens! Happy Friday!
I know this is a joke, but I have shattered my little toes on all sorts table legs and other items. I suspect that there is nothing left in either toe but powder. Wow! does it hurt.

Be happy you don't drive a car Diane! You'd have to make a whole new list. My driving peeves include, but are not limited to: Not using your turn signals. People who make left turns, turn into the far RIGHT Lane and not the left most lane. There are a ton of parking spaces but they park right on top of you. Speeding to get to the red light. There are plenty more but I'm too mad to type right now.🥵
On the other hand she would have to make a list of all the prepping stuff to put in the car. Like a blanket and shovel to bury all the bodies from Editor Diane.

Tricks include finding the narrowest spot to leave the cart, leaving the cart diagonally or sideways in the aisle, putting the cart on one side of the aisle and standing next to it so the whole aisle is taken up, and leaving the cart someplace awkward while shopping in some other part of the store. - People who leave their shopping carts in parking places instead of taking a minute to put their carts back in the return area. - Related to your peeve about people who don't put up the divider at the supermarket register: people who don't put their items on the belt at all. If I'm behind them and put my stuff on the belt, the cashier will assume that my stuff belongs to the person in front of me. Think, people! - People who drive at night without their headlights on, and don't notice when you flash your lights at them. Someone who's oblivious about one thing will be oblivious about everything, I guess. That jump sleep thing is called a myoclonic jerk. Now you have a name to put with your peeve.
Ok, crazy here... Victor Davis Hansen said the cart return reflects the culture. So for more than a year I have been organizing and sorting my grocery stores cart thing although already did it periodically, seriously. I still do it. Its important!
Right along with that is when you stop your cart for someone and they proceed to almost pass in front of you but don't. The stop directly in front of you and act like you don't exist.

I thought the USB thing was something that only happened to me. Here's one that makes me angry. People who stay quiet during commercials on TV then talk when the show comes on. My sister and a college roommate both did this.

When I was a teenager (before barcodes and scanners were created), the supermarkets paid us to bag the groceries and carry them to the customer’s car. Most of the time, customers gave us a tip. We also used paper sacks instead of plastic bags. Every item had a price tag stuck on it somewhere. The cashiers had to find the price tag and enter that price into a cash register. This was basically a giant adding machine. Over time, the cashier would learn the price of every item in the store and could ring up all of the items faster than we could bag them. It was actually faster this way than scanning barcodes today.
A cousin to the seat belt issue is when you're in the car, seat belt clicked and you reach for something ... ... and the seat belt decides in that moment to try and strangle you --.-- 😡😡😡🤬 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Things that grind Diane's gears! Lol. I agree with some of these. One thing that really annoys me is when I forget to switch from my driving transition glasses to my regular glasses after getting to where I'm going. Oh, and people who watch Diane without subscribing to her!

My biggest annoyance with the line/dots is when other people arn't using them properly and then you feel like a weirdo standing a dot behind someone. It almost feels more socially awkward to stand far away from people even though the dot-breakers are the people I want to be furthest from.
Very relatable, the seatbelt gaslight is one of rare things that brings the rage, ironically it mostly shows up when I’m in a hurry…for the reasons Diane mentioned
I totally agree with you regarding social distancing. What really ticks me off are the people who either won't wear a mask in public or wear it incorrectly. The mask is supposed to cover both your nose and mouth not your chin!

Hi Diane: I really enjoyed this video because some of the things you mentioned aggravate me too. We all have our pet peeves that drive us crazy, and I think it’s great that you shared this with us , which by the way was a good and funny way for you to vent, which like you said we all need to do from time to time.. Hey , if you ever want to add something else to your list, come over here to South Florida , and drive anywhere down here at the height of tourist season( now). That will give your Irish temper a real workout!!!😂😂. The thing that bothers me most is when I’m driving an ambulance with lights and sirens on , on our way to an emergency call. That’s when the quality of human stupidity rises to its highest level. Too many people nowadays either ignore us, or worse , have no clue as to what to do, and then proceed to do absolutely the wrong thing , causing difficulty for us, or even get into an accident right in front of us , which of course we now have to stop and work , thus eliminating us from our prior call. !!😱😱.great job as usual!!😎👍👍👍
I found a lot of these relatable. Another one is when the clerk gives you back your discount or debit cards quickly, expecting you to take your stuff and go so they can begin scanning the next customer’s items, but you can’t get your cards back in your wallet fast enough. What do you do? What in the freakin’ free world do you do? You know that I love your channel, but remind me to never order sushi while listening to one of these tirades on my phone! Two fans at a game between rival universities are leaving the men's room and one says, "at our school they teach us to wash our hands after we pee". The other gets him back with "well at our school, they teach us not to pee on our hands!". Thought that was cute. SO many things annoy me, but I can't think of any when I need to! Great video Diane!
Always find it funny when you mention a car-related annoyance when you don't own a car. The speedy cashier problem is solved by having the cashier do the bagging. That's the standard here in the US.
At my local Aldi the cashier will place the items into a waiting cart as they are scanned, the implicit understanding being that they will use my cart for the next customer. There is a long counter along the front wall where you are to take your items and bag them.
Lines and dots on the floor, totally agree! I had a co-worker as a custodian at a casino that thought a flashing light should go off every time someone left the bathroom without washing their hands so everyone would know, lol
Somewhat related to the crosswalk button thing: I HATE when you're waiting for the elevator, have already pressed the button, it's lit up to show it's been pressed -- and the next person comes and presses the button again. And there's the one who presses it multiple times, or even keeps tapping on it like they're sending Morse code. . . . Boy, that rant made me feel good!

One of my coworkers will come up to my desk occasionally and start talking to me and I miss the first half of his sentence while I'm pulling my headphones off. I interrupt him every time and tell him to restart his thought because I'll have no clue what he's talking about without the context of the first half of the sentence. I could understand if he had done it once or twice or if I had airpods in, but I have large over-ear headphones, and he does it about once a week. It should be very obvious that I'm listening to something and can't hear what he is saying to me.
The outing yourself as a spy is something I can admit for being guilty of too even though I am a little embarrassed to say that as a man because the social stigma and crap behind it. And that whole phone not charging, in fact my car has this annoying habit of when I am charging my phone, and I constantly hear the beeping noise over and over and yet my phone in my car won't charge my for not even a single minute.

I bought a replacement mirror for my car last week, and it had a sticker in the MIDDLE of the mirror and it was stuck like a boss, so I pressed it a bit too assertively, trying to remove it.. And obviously it broke in half.
One of my college roommates was very drunk and was trying to stalk this girl he went to high-school with on Facebook. Instead of typing her name in the search bar, he typed her name in the new post box, hit enter to 'search' and then he passed out in his office chair when it didn't search for her. We were hanging out in the living room and saw it pop up on our feeds, so we barged into his room, deleted the post for him, and got him into bed.
I love watching sports , and consider my self reasonably knowledgeable about the sports I watch , but I'm just an observer. What drives me crazy is when a sports commentator does not even know the rules , or what is happening . They are being paid , do your job ! You Diane are doing a wonderful job , keep up the high standard we all have grown to love 😍. ✌🖖🇨🇦
As someone that's worked facilities on a place with public bathrooms, sometimes the part for the stall was discontinued or updated so it won't fit the door any longer. The cost to redo the lock for the door is too much to for the company to pay for until more of the locks break. It's really frustrating.
I have worked retail for yrs, could fill pages with simple things that are sooo annoying at times. Thanks for explaining the 'sleep jerk' thing though. Experience that myself and often wondered why.

Yes pockets in clothes. I totally agree. I once got a pair of sleeper pants (pajama pants) With no pockets in them and didn't like them. I know I just sleep in them but sometimes I like watching tv or youtube videos and just want a place to put my phone or cough drops or other things. It is annoying when there isn't pockets.
Things that annoy me: group texts 😑 😒...... hate hearing my phone blowup every 3 seconds because two ppl decided to be extra chatty. And I totally agree with the non-sneeze thing.... very annoying.
I really like your "things on my mind" videos and I'd like to see more of them. Here's how I handle the earphone interrupters. They have no problem being rude to me so I have no problem being rude right back to them. I look them dead in the eye, point to my earphones, and turn away.

I'm right there with you on the anticlimax of a sneeze that doesn't happen. Helps to to look at a bright light (like straight into a lightbulb) - there's something about looking at a bright light when you need to sneeze, that can actually trigger the sneeze.
This was great and very relatable 😂 One traffic light issue for me is when people just walk across whenever they feel like even though their cue to go isn’t up yet and holds up the drivers who have a green light or puts themselves and others at risk. Meanwhile going very slow to top it off.
As a male i ask for minimal conversation when i am getting my hair cut. A large tip gets the message across. Follow up visits get minimal conversation other than how are you and do you have any plans for the weekend? Large tips get the job done faster.
You know what I hate ... I hate that most TV stations in the States go to commercial at the exact same time. When whatever show I'm watching goes to the commercial break & I go channel surfing to find something to watch while the commercial is on and every station is also on a commercial break !!! That ENRAGES ME !!!!!
I think I agree with most of these. Here’s one that’s a tangent to one of yours: When the previous customer hasn’t put down a divider because there is NO divider in that queue.
One of the major supermarket chains in my area (I'm in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC) not only had big red spots with footprints in them showing people how far apart to stand in line, they actually put big red arrows at each end of every aisle to keep all the customers moving in the same direction to help maintain distancing. After the first week, people got used to it and almost everyone followed the directional arrows... and by the end of the second week a statistically significant percentage of the customers (in any one of the stores) were just ignoring the arrows. As time went on, I slowly changed from thinking nasty things to myself to muttering about it under my breath to actually staring at the people going the wrong way and saying "wrong way" as they passed. The directional arrows are now long gone, most of the social distancing lines & dots have worn off the floors, and I've almost gotten used to wearing a mask. I find myself pining for pre-pandemimonium life....

I hate the barcode stickers, especially on glass. However I found that rubbing alcohol does a great job at removing those nasty things
Zippo fluid works great with glass.
I use a product called Remove works like a charm.
Fingernail polish remover works well too.
For years I have used charcoal lighter fluid for "goo" removal----It's cheap, but don't use it near a flame....LOL
I submerge it in hot water for a few hours and it peels right off.
But yeah, Isopropyl alcohol works much faster and cleaner too.
I guess I know now why we have the expression, "Get my irish up." Vent away, Diane.

At my local Aldi the cashier will place the items into a waiting cart as they are scanned, the implicit understanding being that they will use my cart for the next customer. There is a long counter along the front wall where you are to take your items and bag them.

Somewhat related to the crosswalk button thing: I HATE when you're waiting for the elevator, have already pressed the button, it's lit up to show it's been pressed -- and the next person comes and presses the button again. And there's the one who presses it multiple times, or even keeps tapping on it like they're sending Morse code. . . . Boy, that rant made me feel good!

The earbud thing, 100% agree!!! Especially bugs me if I’m relaxing on my work break and have them in AND my eyes closed and people still get my attention to talk!

I have that earbud problem with my mom. It makes me crazy especially when she knows I’m watching something and she wants to suddenly have a chat and every time I think she’s finally done and I start up my video again and what happens? She starts talking all over again. Sooooooo frustrating 🤬🙄.

I really hate the anti-climactic sneeze too. There is an analogous situation which is even more irritating. It's of a more intimate nature!
One of my coworkers will come up to my desk occasionally and start talking to me and I miss the first half of his sentence while I'm pulling my headphones off. I interrupt him every time and tell him to restart his thought because I'll have no clue what he's talking about without the context of the first half of the sentence. I could understand if he had done it once or twice or if I had airpods in, but I have large over-ear headphones, and he does it about once a week. It should be very obvious that I'm listening to something and can't hear what he is saying to me.

The outing yourself as a spy is something I can admit for being guilty of too even though I am a little embarrassed to say that as a man because the social stigma and crap behind it. And that whole phone not charging, in fact my car has this annoying habit of when I am charging my phone, and I constantly hear the beeping noise over and over and yet my phone in my car won't charge my for not even a single minute.

@@DianeJennings Fun Fact, my dad actually was a spy for the US Army sort of. He actually worked in the Military Intelligence field when he was in the US Army. He got to spy on Russians on a tiny island in Alaska. He also spied on the Cubans in Key West, Florida. He did all of this in the 1970's.

One of my college roommates was very drunk and was trying to stalk this girl he went to high-school with on Facebook. Instead of typing her name in the search bar, he typed her name in the new post box, hit enter to 'search' and then he passed out in his office chair when it didn't search for her. We were hanging out in the living room and saw it pop up on our feeds, so we barged into his room, deleted the post for him, and got him into bed.

As someone that's worked facilities on a place with public bathrooms, sometimes the part for the stall was discontinued or updated so it won't fit the door any longer. The cost to redo the lock for the door is too much to for the company to pay for until more of the locks break. It's really frustrating.
I have worked retail for yrs, could fill pages with simple things that are sooo annoying at times. Thanks for explaining the 'sleep jerk' thing though. Experience that myself and often wondered why.

Yes pockets in clothes. I totally agree. I once got a pair of sleeper pants (pajama pants) With no pockets in them and didn't like them. I know I just sleep in them but sometimes I like watching tv or youtube videos and just want a place to put my phone or cough drops or other things. It is annoying when there isn't pockets.

I'm right there with you on the anticlimax of a sneeze that doesn't happen. Helps to to look at a bright light (like straight into a lightbulb) - there's something about looking at a bright light when you need to sneeze, that can actually trigger the sneeze.

This was great and very relatable 😂 One traffic light issue for me is when people just walk across whenever they feel like even though their cue to go isn’t up yet and holds up the drivers who have a green light or puts themselves and others at risk. Meanwhile going very slow to top it off.

As a male i ask for minimal conversation when i am getting my hair cut. A large tip gets the message across. Follow up visits get minimal conversation other than how are you and do you have any plans for the weekend? Large tips get the job done faster.

You know what I hate ... I hate that most TV stations in the States go to commercial at the exact same time. When whatever show I'm watching goes to the commercial break & I go channel surfing to find something to watch while the commercial is on and every station is also on a commercial break !!! That ENRAGES ME !!!!!
I think I agree with most of these. Here’s one that’s a tangent to one of yours: When the previous customer hasn’t put down a divider because there is NO divider in that queue.
One of the major supermarket chains in my area (I'm in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC) not only had big red spots with footprints in them showing people how far apart to stand in line, they actually put big red arrows at each end of every aisle to keep all the customers moving in the same direction to help maintain distancing. After the first week, people got used to it and almost everyone followed the directional arrows... and by the end of the second week a statistically significant percentage of the customers (in any one of the stores) were just ignoring the arrows. As time went on, I slowly changed from thinking nasty things to myself to muttering about it under my breath to actually staring at the people going the wrong way and saying "wrong way" as they passed. The directional arrows are now long gone, most of the social distancing lines & dots have worn off the floors, and I've almost gotten used to wearing a mask. I find myself pining for pre-pandemimonium life....
