I recently shopped at AtHome for clear lidded containers. They had a large selection of OXO brand, but man, to me, they were expensive. So while I was looking suddenly my eyes caught on a boxed set that had maybe 6 different lidded containers that were priced about the same for 1 OXO. needless to say I bought the boxed set, and love them. Knowing that I didn’t unwillingly stretch my budget, I’m very happy.

I have a couple of the Target acrylic Lazy Susans, both of which broke in a couple places. Using clear packing tape, I reenforced their cracked edges. Since both are in cupboards, I don’t worry about the way they look. They contain olive oil bottles and other oil sprays and ingredients. I would not give them as gifts, but they are functioning.

I hate that those broke on you! That would be my concern as an organizer putting products in people’s houses. Thank you for watching!

I've always been happy with my Target organizing items. I get things at the Container store when it's an item that I can only find there.

The nearest container store to me is about 2hrs away. I was debating a road trip-but now I can stay in town and go to Target.

I agree Target is better for most, there are certain things I buy at The Container Store. Another great comparison would be Homegoods, I know it varies a lot by location but I find a lot of affordable acrylic organizers there. Happy Organizing!

I would definitely buy things like those from Target. The Container Store is a lot further away too. However, the Container Store was a lifesaver when my builder grade closet shelf collapsed and I redesigned my closet with their Elfa shelves.

You are so right. It really depends on what you are buying and proximity matters too. I've only used Elfa for a closet once but also had a great experience. Thanks so much for watching!!

Keep in mind the height of the bins and containers. If you’re looking at using these products on an interior shelf, you may be restricted by the height of your space.

❤ ha ha. Never thought to compare the container store would target before. You are so creative! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We do prefer shopping at target more than the container store; and that is purely because of distance. But we do enjoy visiting the container store, because it is so customized towards better organization. Thank you for sharing and have a great day!

Call me old school, but we do not shop at Target. I have shopped at TCS but only when they have their sale. You can find bargains for the same items at lots of other stores, Hobby Lobby, Tuesday Morning, etc. Quality, function and price is important to me in this time of inflation. I would like to see how your shopping at Amazon "stacks up" to the other stores. Especially if you are not using Prime. Thanks for a great video.

@@bonnie.duncan "old school" means to be "old fashion", but also in this case, I don't shop at Target because I know their "history". I been around a long time and I don't forget the past. It has been at least a decade since I went into a Target store.

A few months ago, I found *2 packs* of the narrow market pantry bins on clearance for $7.49, and the larger square ones were also $7.49 at Aldi. I almost peed myself right there in the Aldi Finds aisle.

  • @pinkroses135
    @pinkroses135 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'd personally stick with the container store for the quality and just buy the bare minimum after I plan my space but price per use/longevity is my big factor. It's a bummer when you spend a decent chunk of change on stuff that keeps breaking. Also only buying things I can truly wash and dust because some of those natural type baskets fall apart. Then you gotta worry about animals and kids in the shavings and whatnot plus funky dust in the weaving. However, the wood bins and boxes can be painted and redone if they're not really cheaply made. I do think the container store one has a smoother grain and thickness. My two cents.

Such a great video and very helpful information. Really appreciated the full “review” of each item. Personally, I’m team neither. I used to have loyalty to Container Store but other stores have come a LONG way so I shop anywhere and everywhere until I find what fits my needs for whatever space trying to organize. Curious, where would you recommend getting storage boxes for things like office supplies and/or memories? Know Container Store has all sorts colored paper boxes and for actually less than Amazon, but wondering if you’ve used them or if there are others types better for longevity?

Quality does matter when you are looking at overall savings. Otherwise, you can look at having to re-buy those lesser quality items when they give out. I'm for quality over cheapness every time within reasonable cost points. So, I don't think target won.

  • @betsyhada2936

That math doesn’t add up. If you go from the angle of “Target is X% less that Container Store”, your math is close - 32.64%. ($250.90 - $169) divided by $250.90. BUT if you go from the angle of “Container Store is Y% MORE expensive than Target”, the number us 48.46%. ($250.90 - $169) divided by $169. And when figuring out which is a better dollar-value proposition, I believe you have to go from the second angle, rather than the first.

Target copied the design of the Yamazaki white wire basket, then makes them less sustainably, and less expensively. It’s a real shame. Also, the wooden handles from the target bins fall off really quickly. By all means, the price point is better, but don’t copy other companies’ designs, come up with you own and then sell that for $12.
