So, theory time: Given where the name is placed, it might be possible that Bella might have been the name they would have given Robin's mom. Nichol actually has quite a few voice lines, there's a video of them up. hes also got a line you can hear in game, if he's to fall in battle he'll say "it was inevitable"
If William is to follow the assumed "FE6 bosses are named after pro-wrestlers" pattern, he's likely named after William Regal. Much like the other wrestlers referenced, he worked with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for a time. Also Nichol content. Very nice. And thank you for bringing attention to Fates Matheus. A shame that they cut half of the Cheve representation like that.
@@rueblie2627 Time to shill, I guess. On my blog, Etymology of the Emblem, I have a post suggesting that nearly all minor bosses in FE6 are named after pro-wrestlers.
@@ThuglasElBosso the art book that came with the limited edition is divided into 4 sections. Three of which are named after the 3 routes with the 4th section being called blackened embers and is represented by the crest of flames. This section contains a currently unused version of Byleth’s portraits so he isn’t just pulling that speculation out his ass. This doesn’t guarantee a 4th route but it does still give cause for speculation. It could be a 4th route or even an epilogue given the name. Embers is what comes after a fire has settled and two of the routes have fire related names. It could also just be a fancy name they gave to the miscellaneous section of the art book I’m not ruling out that mundane possibility either.
In regards to Awakening I have come up with several theories. The file with the cut characters is a list of all the characters with dialogue which is why even ruffian is included on the list. To begin with, Libra doesn't appear on the list and Tharja, Nowi and Gregor are also in the incorrect on this list unlike every other character perhaps implying chapters 11 and 12 were the last to be finalised and also that Leopold was perhaps an early name for Libra. Andrea could have been an early name for Phila as she is the only significant character to not get a spotpass chapter despite having completed critical cut-ins. As for Bella and Minerva they are both located on the "miscellaneous" section list along with "Ruffian" which implies to me that these mounts were only on the list because the occasional mount dialogue featured in support conversations as with a majority of Cherche and Gerome's supports. Tracie is the only character I have no explanation for and is most likely simply cut.
It's also worth noting that fe64 actually used a bunch of names that were later used for fe6 & 9 but there were still a few unused names. or so I've heard, you can read about it on the wiki somewhere also with regards to spinoffs, barry maiko & tiki were intended to be playable in TMS, but were cut due to time, tiki & barry were relegated to encore attacks. (all three also got extra session attacks in the switch version which remedies this, maiko even uses her dancer outfit that she was intended to wear as her first game carnage form.) Then Roy & Ike were thought to be put into warriors 1 at some point but they decided to save them for the sequel. not sure if there were any other unused characters there, but I'm sure darios was intended at some point
Hey, I was the one who put the Shizas image on TCRF, too many sources said it was impossible to load him, but it's easily done. Also, there's a case for ALL enemies being "cut" playable units, as SoV has all enemies in the data in the same file as players. Weird stuff at play.
It's her being a late addition that was then changed that weird me out. The devs clearly touched up her data at one point, but nothing ever came of it. Maybe she was the prototype for Shez? Seeing as how we have things like "Sabre" in Shadow Dragon, which may have been a recycled name for Gaiden
honestly the real question is why can't she support with ryouma. fates is so limited with the parents that if you marry someone in the in crowd you can potentially miss a child. scarlet just raise one from hoshido and buy her later that's what I did
@@ivanbluecool well I'd rather her be from the actual story instead of being bought since it doesn't feel the same. Granted while Scarlet is very much lacking in conversations which kinda sucks it would've given her even more character. All in all though she's my favorite mostly due to being a tomboy and like making mosaics out of shiny stones
@@rockowlgamer631 being a tomboy doesn't really change much about her. Hinoka is a tomboy same as some of the base cast not being to do basic conversations correctly like Setsuna Scarlet to ryouma like flora to Jakob should have honestly been given more supports than just the dlc conversations
I still have a document that tells you how to unlock characters in PoR for the extra maps that say you can unlock Greil by beating the game 20 times on the hardest mode with no deaths hilarious.
I definitely had some experience with the Sacred Stones prototypes. Although I still don't think this counts as a cut character, since I think this was likely just a placeholder name, you might have noticed all the generic bosses in this prototype all have the name Ibiru (イビル), which using Japanese Katakana, literally translates as "evil". Ah yes, every boss is evil. That much makes a lot of sense.
I really like these types of videos, probably the most unique ones were the Fates capturable bosses, because it (Maybe) implies there were plans to make them real characters that you had to capture instead of glorified generic units
I'm wondering if this unknown student character in 3 houses may have been Poe from Cipher 0? or Shez, maybe, planned for an integration in the base game too? But I feel like both of those options don't really make much sense, as the code must have been there before they'd plan anything like that, but at the same time the code did get updates, so maybe they kept working on this but cancelled because they thought it wouldn't be necessary, idk. I think Shez with a crest of flames would be weird, but maybe another that would have been common to FE3H and FEW3H's DLC, maybe? but again, the code is probably way older than the pre production of the musou spinoff.
A playable rhea would have fixed so many things about fe3h. The other 3 routes get the lords who are broken units with broken battalions and broken personnel weapons while silver snow gets... Seteth, who is available on two of the other routes, doesn't get a battalion, and doesn't get a relic/sacred weapon for part 2. Playable rhea would have also helped differentiate the plot of silver snow from verdant wind and explain why you don't fight nemesis but rhea in the final chapter. Would have been interesting to see a radicalized and unhinged rhea come to terms with her actions and her negative effects on fodlan while coming to terms with what's best for fodlan's future.
Is the Gaiden Forsyth they mentioned the same Forsyth that is playable in Echoes? If so that's so cool that they made him a real character in the remake
I like to think that yeah, Nintendo went back while making Echoes and decided to go ahead and add him back so the tradition of Red Playable Unit and Green Playable unit could continue.
COMMENT THAT IS ONE YEAR LATE!!! You did miss four characters from FE1 (though you did technically show them on screen at 1:55): Salamander, Basilisk, Naga, and Gaia. Ig it's possible these usused enemy ids could've been used for specific enemies under the clan names, as three of the four names I mentioned are said to be the names of the manakete clans in FE1 according to Malledus at the end of chapter 7 (Naga = Divine Dragon Clan, Salamander = Fire Dragon Clan, and Basilisk = Mage Dragon Clan); however Salamander was mentioned in chapter 9 by Mannu in the opening of the map to be a Guardian God, thus they are a character technically, and it is likely Morzas' boss quote in chapter 17 is referring to a character called Basilisk over the clan of the same name-he mentions both the clan in the chapter opening of chapter 17, while with the way he says his boss quote it makes more sense if he's referring to a character: "Basilisk! I call upon your power! Burn these arrogant humans to ash!". It is also suggested via developer notes that Gaia was to be the name of the Earth Dragon clan, and given what I said before, they were likely intended to be a character too, same with Naga at the time. Also, it is worth mentioning that Sabre's ending in FE1 is the exact same as Wendell's in Japanese, and that as Sabre doesn't share his Japanese name with Saber (Sabre = セイバー, Saber = セーバー). ANYWAYS THAT'S ALL LMAO
I really enjoy your content. I would also really like to see you pick up the plot review (this is what happens in FE...) videos again, especially for Three Houses or my personal favorites, the Tellius games, but whichever way you go I'm sure it'll be great.
I just love every kind of cut content in fire emblem, even though I've done multiple researches on the topic, I hope there's something I don't know here. Forgot to write this, edit: I actually discovered something new here, I didn't know of fake Clive for example.
On the topic of Nichol and Candace, I've always felt that Capture was such a missed opportunity in Fates. There's potential to expand your army in each game by capturing playable characters from the other routes, but with all the interpersonal connections at play, I could see that being difficult. Maybe 3H could have had something similar post-timeskip?
I've poured over FE wikis and TCRF a lot but I never knew about Count Galatea in Three Houses, as well as that giant list of names in Three Houses, that's odd. They put a lot of effort into the world of Three Houses so I imagine most or all of those names belonged to characters they had at least some idea about at some point, but perhaps they were also just unused alternate names for secondary, minor or even major characters that got passed over in favor of other options. This is a solid compilation of information, good stuff. As a huge fan of the Marth games I'm really curious as to why they omitted Gotoh in New Mystery, as well as what the deal with Sabre might've been.
I think you missed the prototype Red Kyle and readjusted/Beta Forde, as well as Lute, Neimi, Ewan, Tethys, Tana, Eirika, Ephraim and Seth for Sacred Stones. If the above, Kyle's is notable because he changes drastically and looks nothing like his final iteration. Maybe it's because that iteration is supposed to be Nate and not Kyle like it's been assumed? Edit: Neimi is also kind of notable because she's using Tethys's colors and clothes. I think she was slated to be the dancer of FE8 originally. I only mention a few of these in detail simply because a few of these initial designs implied a completely different intended end result than what we got.
Maybe this is a bit far-fetched but could it be that some characters mentioned around 17:00 were recyceld to Engage? Alfred and Penette are the most obvious ones here. Others could be: Fedor - Vander Loe - Louis
I forgot where I heard it but three houses had a second generation planned before they scrapped it. Maybe those are the names between the playables and major NPCs
Sanaki Black might be a evil version of the original cause it's a common naming convention in Japan And for Berkut I think it's said somewhere that he was meant to be recruitable but that was changed because they didn't want to recruit every villain. And I can see them putting Fernand out as a guest temporary unit during one of the chapters before he defects.
wish echoes made the amiboo characters like fates. awakening pre amiboo was good having special class lodestar Marth. then fates was the closest to perfection with actually having 4 popular characters as well as giving Marth and Ike new styles for current games. then echoes went completely backwards making it pointless to use the amiboo as they are set to default and can't even be raised. I would have loved a playthrough of robin lucina Marth Ike corrin twins Roy to fight the enemies.
Terminology: • “Unused” refers to characters who can only be found in the game’s data. • “Cut” refers to characters who are absent from the final retail product of their game. • “Relegated” refers to characters who have internal information implying that they were intended to be playable at some point in the game, but are only used as NPCs or as enemies. • “Dummied” refers to unique name strings only found in the game’s data.
From what I know sophisticated is actually not unused, there is an item called shield of sophis and when using this sophis casts a spell on everyone and from what I know that's why spohis has character data so she can show up there and the voiceless are just a fail safe
Where’s Anthony from fates. He has a human for with stats and character description (a stranger to war). Also ghost Azura too. She even has lines in the castle.
echoes wish berkut was playable as his voice lines just sound like he is dissing alm and his leadership skills. Fernand no thanks I rather have genetic paladin guy from the dlc than him. Fe fates the capture system was a nice way of still letting the already made characters be playable in some way same as the hidden class lancer when you capture an enemy soldier. it makes it feel special when you raise one to the max guess it's lucky feh exists to give npc units spotlight or enemy units playability
There are not unused but very rare death quotes for characters if you beat the game after a certain number of times Cana's and Hawkeyes quotes mention Niime and Igrene though Hawkeye calls Igrene his sister.
There are some cut portraits for Palla and...er, I think it was Camus. But they are not an indication of anything, they simply belong to unused versions of cutscenes that were instead handled through audiostreaming. Otherwise, most of the rom is cut content and not unique. No, really, they literally just replaced chapter 1 of FE3 with each of these chapters, removed some class-data like battle animations and some sprite sheets and then called it a day. Even weaponlocks are intact according to documentation.
@@lpfan4491 Woah woah woah, this is sounding interesting/peculiar. The unusued portraits, if you are correct, I would like to see since I'd like to have the lost PSRAM data restored. Are all the cutscene CGs present? I'd assume not (Otherwise the whole PSRAM section would be mostly redundant data, which is unlike most Soundlink games), but it's interesting nevertheless if the portraits are taken from those. Is it specifically those two characters, and no others, regardless of if they appeared in a cutscene CG or not? As for the map data, by saying they "literally replaced chapter 1 of FE3", does that mean there's a number of FE3 Book 2 maps present in the data afterwards? How about book 1? Would they be possible to hack into modified trial maps of their own? How much junk would crash if you tried putting Marth back in there? How deep does that rabbit hole go? This might be interesting because BS Super Mario Collection epsiode 3's dump has level and map data that corresponds with the otherwise undumped episode 2 alongside the data for normal All-Stars SMB3 levels that are unused, so while it's not too likely it it opens up the idea of more BS Fire Emblem something-or-other having been considered or scrapped. Apolgoies if I'm overthinking it, I'm just a big Satellaview buff and definitely wanted to hear more on that entry.
@@cabbusses Every chapter exists except chapter 1, which each BSFE chapter replaces. More detailed info is available on the cutting room floor-page, though iirc, it is not actually fully documented how much individual data survived(As in, for example Marth exists, but no idea if his stats are still there), but I think the general rule was that assets were largely removed.
Would have been so cool to have Berkut and Fernand playable, whether by some late game missable bonus unlock (i.e. you have to fulfill certain conditions to save them) or a NG+ bonus (perhaps they simply don't die on NG+).

Nichol gaming
Wait FE6 bosses are named after pro wrestlers?
@@rueblie2627 Time to shill, I guess. On my blog, Etymology of the Emblem, I have a post suggesting that nearly all minor bosses in FE6 are named after pro-wrestlers.
Glad they made Jeralt, Rhea, and Sothis playable in Three Hopes :)
Wish they made rhea and sophis less forced though, and gave rhea her own route
@Methodius The source is that I made it the fuck up.
Let's face it, IS and KT aren't interested enough in Rhea to make her actually relevant.
@@pearsemolloy9656 dlc should be what if jeralt found shez as a baby lol and shez and byleth are homies
@Methodius while the source is somewhat reliable, it sounds more like a byleth route then a church of serios one
It's also worth noting that fe64 actually used a bunch of names that were later used for fe6 & 9 but there were still a few unused names. or so I've heard, you can read about it on the wiki somewhere
also with regards to spinoffs, barry maiko & tiki were intended to be playable in TMS, but were cut due to time, tiki & barry were relegated to encore attacks.
MoD!Eliwood’s son was Ephraim, whose name was recycled for Sacred Stones.
Hey, I was the one who put the Shizas image on TCRF, too many sources said it was impossible to load him, but it's easily done. Also, there's a case for ALL enemies being "cut" playable units, as SoV has all enemies in the data in the same file as players. Weird stuff at play.
That mystery girl from three houses.
Still is quite haunting to me for some reason.
@@hellothisismufin It's just of those things I have an obsession over. Just those smal hidden lost media type of stuff.
I still wish that we could have gotten Sothis as a playable character in Three Houses. Would have been so cool :)
shout outs to neptune the completely scrapped fe 1 water dragon boss whose referenced in the valentian accordion and dagons
I'll never forgive them for cutting Hamburg.
Ghast, Speeding and Excelblem are the 3 pillars holding up FE TH-cam for me. Always fun, interesting or both
I just wish that it was possible to save Scarlet in Revelations
honestly the real question is why can't she support with ryouma. fates is so limited with the parents that if you marry someone in the in crowd you can potentially miss a child.
scarlet just raise one from hoshido and buy her later that's what I did
@@ivanbluecool well I'd rather her be from the actual story instead of being bought since it doesn't feel the same. Granted while Scarlet is very much lacking in conversations which kinda sucks it would've given her even more character. All in all though she's my favorite mostly due to being a tomboy and like making mosaics out of shiny stones
@@rockowlgamer631 being a tomboy doesn't really change much about her. Hinoka is a tomboy same as some of the base cast not being to do basic conversations correctly like Setsuna
Scarlet to ryouma like flora to Jakob should have honestly been given more supports than just the dlc conversations
@@ivanbluecool I know point being while it sucks Scarlet isn't as fully developed in convos as others I like her all the same
That is the same that Flora cannot support with Xander.
I just noticed FEH used Sothis' unused crit quotes for her special quotes.
This is an amazing video that made me realize how many were cut! Interesting
Golly if only there was an FE5 romhack in development that brought back most of its unused content...
Wouldn't that be cool....
Foresti's Cut moment
So sad Fedor never made it into Three Houses. As a Portuguese speaker, his name sounds epic
Fedor = stink in Portuguese
Trueee
Funny how this was uploaded right after I finished watching castle conversations part 2
4:14 *WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?!*
FE4 has a few unused boss portraits, though they are not tied to any characters.
Forsyth is still in gaiden. This unused character just also happens to use his name. So there are two Forsyths in gaiden's code.
I like to think that yeah, Nintendo went back while making Echoes and decided to go ahead and add him back so the tradition of Red Playable Unit and Green Playable unit could continue.
@@Superluigi881 Forsyth replaced Force
Huh, useless trivia but Rhea has Makoto and Sothis has Morgana voice actors from Persona 5 and both FE characters ended up unplayable
I really enjoy your content. I would also really like to see you pick up the plot review (this is what happens in FE...) videos again, especially for Three Houses or my personal favorites, the Tellius games, but whichever way you go I'm sure it'll be great.
Crimson Flower has Jeritza. Azure Moon has Gilbert.
Silver Snow should have had Rhea. Verdant Wind should have had Judith.
I just love every kind of cut content in fire emblem, even though I've done multiple researches on the topic, I hope there's something I don't know here.
Forgot to write this, edit: I actually discovered something new here, I didn't know of fake Clive for example.
i wouldnt complain if you made a video about the sacred stones versions, that was my first one and i really care about that one
Everybody gangsta til Schumacher shows up in Crimson Flower 🥶🥵😵💫😨
I can't believe we were robbed of a character named Hamburg :(
Fire emblem lost treasures
Sounds like a good name for a Fire Emblem game just imagine starting as Pirate's heist on a castle.
I’d play that.
I love that grails default animation is Gmod crowbar lol
It seems like all of Sothis's lines are also her Special quotes in Heroes.
15:33 Those quotes are use in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Pretty cool to learn that they put a cut character into the remaster with Forsyth
Forsyth wasn't cut, his data was just duplicated in the original game from what I understand
6:30 Those animation looks great.
Andrea is interesting since Robin's European name (Daraen) is an anagram of, well, Andrea
Babe, wake up! New Fearghast video!
Funny meme.
it's a shame that some of them weren't recruitable
So sothis' quotes ended up being used in heroes thats cool
I’d have loved to see what the Radiance Heather would have been, especially since they would have been so different from the one I know
isn't some of these the names of those weapons. The statue creatures that the rhea has which I think one was named mary.
You forgot to mention that Forsyth is playable in Echoes, Gaiden's Remake. I was hoping you'd mention that. I had no idea he was unused in Gaiden.
ERIKAS OLD ANIMATION IN FE8 WAS SO GOOD
Maybe this is a bit far-fetched but could it be that some characters mentioned around 17:00 were recyceld to Engage?
Alfred and Penette are the most obvious ones here.
Others could be:
Fedor - Vander
Loe - Louis
I forgot where I heard it but three houses had a second generation planned before they scrapped it. Maybe those are the names between the playables and major NPCs
A different sword cav named Heather? I can only imagine she'd be 1000 times better then the sword cav we got
I love Rhea
3:19 I actually thought you said fucked and I had to play the last ten seconds again. Then I realized you said fought
Sanaki Black might be a evil version of the original cause it's a common naming convention in Japan
And for Berkut I think it's said somewhere that he was meant to be recruitable but that was changed because they didn't want to recruit every villain.
Terminology:
• “Unused” refers to characters who can only be found in the game’s data.
17:20 There is Helda but IS put in Hilda instead.
echoes wish berkut was playable as his voice lines just sound like he is dissing alm and his leadership skills. Fernand no thanks I rather have genetic paladin guy from the dlc than him.
Fe fates the capture system was a nice way of still letting the already made characters be playable in some way same as the hidden class lancer when you capture an enemy soldier. it makes it feel special when you raise one to the max
guess it's lucky feh exists to give npc units spotlight or enemy units playability
There are not unused but very rare death quotes for characters if you beat the game after a certain number of times Cana's and Hawkeyes quotes mention Niime and Igrene though Hawkeye calls Igrene his sister.
Or was it Hugh? I forgot
I like that beta Erika animation.
The crest of flames chick from three houses I’m so curious about her
6:00 That is a phone.
4:17 Did he said a inappropriate word.
Doesn't Phila have critical quotes in Awakening and Lilith in Awakening?
Uther would be cool to have in FEH
I noticed BSFE wasn't mentioned. Was there nothing cut in that of note?
@@lpfan4491 I'll be sure to keep a lookout on that. Thanks for all the info!

Would have been so cool to have Berkut and Fernand playable, whether by some late game missable bonus unlock (i.e. you have to fulfill certain conditions to save them) or a NG+ bonus (perhaps they simply don't die on NG+).
