So before start of game, each player puts in one piece. Then spin determines result. *Nun* nothing happens, before next spin players add piece, *Hay* is spun, player gets half of pot, next spin add piece, *Shin* is spun, player has to put in piece, next spin, players put in piece, *Gimmel* is spun, player gets all pieces. Keep playing until no more pieces left.
I'm not even playing the game and I'm smiling and happy just watching. I'm Christian but my through marriage my Great Uncle Hugo was a Jewish attorney and holocaust victim from Berlin Germany. So I feel like in some small way I'm connecting with Uncle Hugo and understanding him better by watching this. I wish they showed the letters to the camera better I'm not sure which where which but I'm excited to try playing at the JCC with my Jewish special need group.
Maybe she was nervous but, that's definitely not how you play. Shin you give one to the pot and hay is you get half the pot. I think she explained Nun (none given or taken) and Gimmel (Take all from the pot) correctly. Winner is the one who has the most pieces left as others with none have been elminated.
Put half in? I thought it was take half from the pot?

Thank you. I thought I had been playing wrong according to her.
I don't like these rules, makes the game end too quick. I prefer that Hey gets half the pot, and Shin puts only ONE in
Those are the real rules.
.
We never played where someone puts all in.
Thanks for the lesson. I’ll be ready for next Hanukkah. shalom from the Prince of peace.

A wonderful Dreidel game learning Lesson
How do you tell the story as a Rabbi without mentioning G-d?
Female rabbi ....nun you get nothing, gimmel take all , hey take half , shin put 1 in !! Her rules are different !! Female Rabbi !!
Happy Hanukkah!
A FEMALE RABBI!?!?!?!
Hát ez minősíthetetlen volt! Unalmas, túl egysíkú, bizonyos játékosok sokkal erősebbek a többieknél, ezért autobalansz szükséges am ggwp
i would love to play this game when I go to Israel someday!
