Hmmmmm, Just stumbled across this video! US Army, Air Defense Command, ARADCOM.... 1968 , Nike Hercules nuclear missile site, my first assignment! We nicknamed it Alvadodo.....LOL! It was a nice small town. We protected the DFW area from USSR nuclear bomb attack! Typical Government, I enlisted for 4 years, guaranteed assignment 14 months at one site! Arrived there late March, 1968, we deactivated it in October, 1968, the ICBMs were already replacing us! Reassigned to Indiana, deactivated April, 1969, re-enlisted to the computer field, best thing I ever did in the Army! Visited the site 2004, the site was a church...... It’s actually pronounced like Alva-Ray-Doe. I pronounced it the same way you did when I moved here a few months back...and then “they” corrected me 🤠
The correct way is how he pronounced it its a hispanic name
