Now that I'm thinking about it, that's probably the main reason I stopped cosplaying Pearl from Steven Universe. Like, I'm not an actor, I'm not a party princess, I'm not getting paid. I can barely pose for photos in character, I'm awful at those few-second video shots, and people expect me to *be* the character in a conversation?? I'm just a human nerd who can't draw or write but who can sew, do makeup, and style wigs to some degree. a 20-something guy literally yelled at me from across a room accusing the me/the character of something referencing an at-the-time obscure theory that i had never even heard of. but i didn't have the confidence at the time to respond with "I AM A HUMAN PERSON" so all i could do was just stare blankly and say "what?"

"Cosplay for me is a tool to create. The wearing of the cosplay is a means to an end for me." I would love a very long video unpacking that. Like what does cosplay really mean in terms of creative endeavors and what it means to you now.
Yeah, the ends are the creations! I just mean that I don't love the ACT of wearing cosplay, I love the photos, videos, etc. that I create with the costumes.
I worked at an art supply store and one question I got a lot was "Can I put this on my skin?" No, that has cadmium in it. It says it right on the label. Cadmium blue. (Customer walks off with paint and purchases it anyway.)
I would of gotten supper nervous anxious to meet Laura Bailey, kinda understand the point about not using her accent to her ... unless she casts Duplicity?

I have a question: How do I get my friends into critical role? I've told them about it however they are reluctant due to the "nerdy" nature of D&D. Any suggestions or advice?
I think I can help:: D&D is like a netflix show, and you also get the fun of it being a game! And even better than a show, content is long and you can see everyone's real expressions, giving it a more emotional tone and making it way more hilarious
@@GinnyDi Heej, you don't have to justify anything to me, I love your jester cosplay, and I like the fact that the universe has a "real" jester, cosplay on.
Understandable why in that moment you wouldn't have done any extra content with Laura. That said, if (and only if) it's something you'd like to do someday I imagine you have enough clout within the community at this point that arrangements could be made. Especially given your relationship with Wyrmwood I would think that Bobby would be able to act as an excellent intermediary in that respect. That said, I'm a big proponent of creators creating content they want to create and not having any forced obligation to create what their fans want created.
For any of your cosplays do you use spirit gum or do you prefer using a different kind of adhesive if you need to use it. I have a Steven Universe cosplay and I have trouble keeping the gem on my belly after awhile
I use a Kenmore Elite that I received as a hand-me-down from my mom when she got a new machine! I don't necessarily recommend it... I mean, I like it fine, but I didn't do research and select it, haha. It's just what I ended up with.
I'm sorry I'm kinda new to critical roll but how are getting pictures or coslays of jester and and other characters so you can cosplay?!?! Do they show them on the show? Also they look different every level?! I don't understand how that happens!
There is "official art" that was released at the very beginning of the campaign - a headshot and a full-body image - and then they released new, updated art at level 10! So Jester only has two official "looks" - level 1, and level 10. Hope that's helpful!
@@GinnyDi thanks so much! I understand this now! Also your an awesome creator! Thanks so much for responding. I'm kinda new to dnd so I get confused about a lot of stuff. Thanks again! Your awesome! Love you and your videos! ♥️
Hey Ginny genuine question is there a reason you linked to the Morris costumes fangs over Scarecrow's own amazon page? The Morris costume ones are like 7 dollars more expensive and they both require shipping. Is there some sort of difference I'm not seeing?
...NOPE. That's an accident! I copy pasted the link from my makeup tutorial, it may be that back when I put together that tutorial, Scarecrow didn't have their own Amazon storefront. I'll correct it now, thank you!
I use E6000! Just make sure to either wear latex gloves underneath them while gluing, or use something other than your fingers to stabilize the gloves while you glue (like a marker!) so you don't glue the gloves to your hands :)

A note on scarecrow fangs. They stain really easily. So be careful what you drink, especially if it is red.
@GinnyDi self proclaimed mimic???
Rolls initiative
I would of gotten supper nervous anxious to meet Laura Bailey, kinda understand the point about not using her accent to her ... unless she casts Duplicity?
Really great q&a video! Also your hair in this video is like my dream hair colors. So mermaid or spring fairy! Also i was a little sad that people get angry at you for not cosplaying jester at cons. You should be free to cosplay any of your creations you want to. You're not their doll. *end rant*
ooooh gluing fake nails to the gloves is something I wouldn't have even considered, that's so cool
I have a question:
How do I get my friends into critical role?
I've told them about it however they are reluctant due to the "nerdy" nature of D&D. Any suggestions or advice?
I think I can help::
D&D is like a netflix show, and you also get the fun of it being a game! And even better than a show, content is long and you can see everyone's real expressions, giving it a more emotional tone and making it way more hilarious
@@nitsugadot5972 Out of curiosity, do you happen to know where the best jump in point of season 2 would be?
I had never watched critical role, so all this time, I thought Jester is your character. Good to know. Now I really want to watch critical role.
It's weird how you have basically become the definitive version of Jester.
I just like cosplaying her, man! I'm glad people like what I'm doing. But I'm just out here having a fun time being blue
@@GinnyDi Heej, you don't have to justify anything to me, I love your jester cosplay, and I like the fact that the universe has a "real" jester, cosplay on.
You say you're a mimic? I'm rolling initiative now.
I don't use any adhesives, sorry! The Madhouse FX ears stay on pretty well on their own, and there's nothing else that requires glue on this costume!
Casual Jester has hella Fantasy High vibes
Hi, I swear I saw it in a video or something before but what sewing machine do you use?
I use a Kenmore Elite that I received as a hand-me-down from my mom when she got a new machine! I don't necessarily recommend it... I mean, I like it fine, but I didn't do research and select it, haha. It's just what I ended up with.
Ok awesome, I have one that broke on me I had for about 10 years so I’m in the market now. Thank you for the reply. 😃
“They wanted to see her and I talk to each other in the Jester voice…” oh just you wait friends 😊
that wig is super cute. im guessing you created it instead of buying it that way?
jester is my spirit animal
WE PLAY DUNGEONS AND DRAGAAAAAAHHHHNS!!!
Do you plan to make a video showing ALL your cosplays ? Not wearing them just showing them and explain a bit and show pics of the ones you sold ?
That would be a LONG video!! I've made somewhere around 100 cosplays so far, haha.
To be honest, those blue tights had me convinced you use body paint. It looks realistic.
how do I get started....do I just practice, make my own idea and keep it up...idk I'm nervous when I try.
when can we buy your custom Ginny D20 dice set ?
What do you recommend to glue the fake finger nails on the gloves?
I use E6000! Just make sure to either wear latex gloves underneath them while gluing, or use something other than your fingers to stabilize the gloves while you glue (like a marker!) so you don't glue the gloves to your hands :)
@@GinnyDi thank you much! I greatly appreciate it!!
Is the "Jester gives advice" series shelved or do you still plan on making videos for that?
Sorry, permanently shelved! I decided not to release it.
@@GinnyDi That's unfortunate but I'm sure whatever you have coming up will be even better ^^
Weird embarrassing question feel free to ignore but the leotard do you modify it to make it easier to go to the bathroom if so how?
I literally cut open the crotch, haha! My plan was to add snap tape but I haven't done it yet, I just tuck it into my tights XD
@@GinnyDi thanks for the reply 😂
It is so silly it isn't part of the leotard already though
5:10. THIS!!!
2:27 “so yeah I don’t have any other plans like set in stone” maybe I’m reading into this but she said set in stone differently. Is she gonna cosplay as one of cad’s sisters soon??!!!
omg calm down hahaha there's no double meaning!!
Ginny Di I’m not usually a theorist but I laughed at my own jump to assumptions. I love your channel thank you so much for all the great content
4:57 Did Pike just enter the room??
maybe introduce the lvl10 Jester at Denver CC
I'll introduce it when I'm ready to!
