You’re Average Twice Fan ya'll can't expect her to improve to the level of Solji or Hyerin. She has a naturally weaker voice and she can only improve so much. She never will be main vocal material and that's totally okay because she isn't in the group to be a main vocal.
A thin/weak quality happens because someone is not engaging enough breath from the diaphragm (in vocal technique known as breath support) to keep their vocal chords connected --- most sub-vocals in KPop groups (and sometimes even leads) have this problem. It's not a trait, it's technical. So once you got proper vocal technique lessons, EVERYONE can worked past it. Singing is 20% talent, 80% technique and practice. Junghwa's tone production is still somehow shallow compared to her peers but she's definitely better than before. She COULD be as good as Solji/Hyelin if she's diligent enough with her lessons so she could get to the more advanced technique like resonance, agility, etc. SHINee's Taemin vocal improvements prove this. He went from a shallow half-speaking singer, to now belting notes with consistent breath support and resonance.
