  • I've been buying more tools than usual as of late, I mostly blame our friend "Doc" over at "Last Best Tool" (great channel btw, be sure to check him out if you haven't already). In any event, I made my first foray into snap on this month, and I plan to continue with a few purchases per year until I have my kit(s) built out the way i'd like.

My new favorite channel. I’m an industrial millwright apprentice in my last year. The addiction for high quality USA tools is ever growing. I love tools, I love have anything I need to get a job done. But traveling 1000s of miles with tools is tricky every job have to build out my box with minimal dead weight 😂

Thank you for the kind words! Nothing better than a high quality USA tools, but boy do we pay for the privilege. All good though, buy once cry once. Sounds like you have a very unique problem space in having to make constant trade offs between functionality and weight. Are you bringing a whole toolbox to each job or do you have a variety of kits built out?

Hey man, great video! I’m farmer and diy’er and I started buying Snap-On tools almost a year ago and it’s been the best thing I’ve invested in. People will hate on them because they don’t like the price, which is fair, however it’s your hard earned money and you can spend it however you want.
You cannot go wrong with any of Snap-On’s ratchets, wrenches, pliers, hammers, screws drivers. Even some of their power tools are great.

Couldn't agree more, to each their own. Glad to hear Snap On has been kind to you. I walked onto a Snap On truck for the first time yesterday, felt like a kid in a candy store 🤣. Will be making a video about the haul for sure.

@@HeyDerFolks My Snap On guy go’s out of his way and meets me at the farmers market I work at. He’s a really nice guy so that makes it easy for me to support him.
well I better subscribe so I don’t miss any Snap On videos!

You really don't want the flexhead to loosen much at all. Once it does, they can begin to be floppy. That's why some pros want locking flexhead. I believe Snap On flex are perfect the way they are from factory.

Totally fair, I think I was mostly caught off guard by the difference in looseness between the 1/4 and the 3/8. In your experience, is that normal?

@@HeyDerFolks They should be about equal but I have found with cheaper quality ratchets (Gearwrench) the ball used to click in positions is smaller and makes their 1/4" too loose for my liking. Never had any issues with my Snap On ratchets. Even the locking flex from Gearwrench has too much play for my liking, where my Snap Ons have to be physically moved with my fingers.

i’ve seen a lot of toolbox tours where people say they dislike the locking flex heads

I did. At first I felt bad, then I paid full price for the 1/4” triple bank socket set, and didn’t feel bad any longer

Appreciate the feedback! Working on getting a new set of lights for the shop, have heard good things about Apurture soft box (though I’m sure there are more). That’ll be my 1,000 subscriber investment 🤩

I have a maxpedition pouch I've filled with snap on. pliers, 1/4 sockets, 2 extensions, ratchet with that spinner (I love it you will to) picks, bits, ratcheting screwdriver, both pocket prybars, a flashlight, sharpie, and a soft tape measure. It was very pricey, but I absolutely love it every time I open it up and find myself looking for things to fix to put the kit to use.

Awesome kit you’ve got there! I plan to upgrade a few kits with nicer tools (boat toolbox comes to mind as I just threw in what I had laying around, at the time). Glad to hear it brings you joy, that’s what it’s all about. Cheers
