so glad to hear that! I recently filmed another video for junior strategists. there might be some additional information there you'll find helpful :) th-cam.com/video/5JUW874D3N0/w-d-xo.html
Hi Thank you for such an insightful video. I have been working in many diverse advertising fields in my 4 year career like social media strategy, content writing and client management. And have recently landed a brand and content strategy role where I am still trying to define the nuances of my field. Your video is really helpful and will assist me in shaping my career in a better direction!
so happy to hear that!! wish you the best of luck in your career. I think it’s awesome that you have experience in such diverse fields within marketing and advertising. Im sure you will definitely see all these experiences come together!
glad you liked it :) honestly this might be a cliche answer but it’s about marrying the creative design with the understanding of humans and that is fascinating to me 🤩
Great video! What do you suggest for someone who wants to make a career shift into Brand Strategy (specifically Brand Creation) but doesn't have a traditional degree in marketing or a similarly related field. Thank you!
hi Sarah! Thanks for the comment :) don't get discouraged! branding is so broad that people can (and do) come from all types of backgrounds. I would suggest you highlight your transferrable skills, such as: understanding consumer drivers, market trends, research, interviewing, extracting information, etc. these are all skills that every brand strategist needs, and to be honest most traditional degrees don't fully prepare you to be a brand strategist on other tips, you can also check out my other video. i go a bit more in depth about how to start out your career in branding th-cam.com/video/5JUW874D3N0/w-d-xo.html
Hi! can you give me a bit of your background so I can recommend to your needs? are you a strategist, verbalist, or designer? there are a few graduate programs that are helpful. Julian Cole also does a course called the Planning Dirty Academy. Chris Do also has a few helpful courses :)
I did the masters of science program at northwestern university! I filmed a video about my thoughts and career outlooks of the program previously, feel free to check it out! th-cam.com/video/SnoV4sVoqDE/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for making this video, it was incredibly helpful 🫶
