She sang it powerfully and she needED to give it her all. The line "This is Christ the Lord" It was not just a song but a declaration. *CHRIST IS LORD!*
I followed her since she won the Four, she's an awesome singer.

When I heard the original version of What Child is This by Avril Lavigne, I was stunned to hear Avril's performance on this song -from her debut youthful adolescent days of Let Go with her Sharpie painted nails, to the now and matured Birth of a King incredibly developed and matured voice. Her hitting those notes for a prolonged period of time on What Child is This, I was like, "Whoa! This is Avril?"
But! But! Evvie McKinney's performance... I got goosebumps! Evvie not only nailed it, she was killing it: she put some soul in this baby (pun intended). 😊
Regardless of Evvie's position of vertically elation within the worship sphere, please remember it doesn't matter to God what your position is when singing to connect with your spirit and an all encompassing God: God is everywhere.
It's a breathing technique to lower ones body to achieve the prolonged note: it forces more air through the diaphragm, lungs, and chest and less strain on the vocal chords.
I have listened to Evvie's rendition of What Child is This maybe one hundred+ times already since finding out about this album last week and I compared Evvie's vocal ranges to Avril's. While both ladies are phenomenal, Evvie takes the trophy - no! The trophy follows her.
Edited: Also, it was class and uniquely, bad ass; the way she left the stage while the violins and the bass hauntingly ended the song - perfect, in my opinion, and perfectly and artistically choreographed.

Smh. What vertical relationship are you talking about? If Christ lives inside of you it doesn't matter if you look up and down while singing. You can tell you felt the heart-felt worship coming from her. While men like you look outwardly, God looks into the heart. So stop comparing the way you express yourself in singing to hers.

You need to watch the full video of that show it's was amazing it's not herself that singing during that night, allot of singers were also singing that night that is why you see her left after singing her song so that another group come after ❤❤
