    Great idea on holding the paddle using that rarely used cord to pull back drive. The standard way to attach paddle is too far back and not quick to attach. And the extra cord on seat as well good idea. Will try those on my next ride on the lake. Waiting for water to get warmer so I can more seriously try standing up without worries of cold water accidents.

    Nice to see simple ty. I’m loving kaku kahuna board for keeping it simple. Still love your show wish you were doing it down in Texas though.

    Well Ty, I pulled the trigger. I ordered my 2018 Hobie Compass from ACK not 1 hr ago. I got 2 21" H rails, a Hook2 Lawrance Fishfinder, the Square hatch to move the circle up front, rod holders, deck mat to silence stuff.. etc etc. Thank you so much on your thoughts and advice on it! From Montana, to Colorado, and here I come Pensacola FL in May to fish! WHAAAAAAT! Much love to your family brother!

    I like those roto paddle holders. I didn't realize they went in the rails like that. I may get some for my PP Pilot. Thanks!

      yeah. any rail. they are good for alot of stuff. my son holds a camera with them. u can mount to a side clip for a push pole. they hold bows and shotguns. tons of uses

    All you need now is an Expandacraft 12 foot outrigger on that thing to make sure you never dump thousands of dollars worth of gear in the drink. Check out the number of youtube videos with that set up, with and without motors. Just search Expandacraft outrigger on a Hobie and you'll be amazed.

    Great video! I have watched a lot of videos to rig my Compass and you have some great practical approaches. I love your solution for using the pedal bungiewith the paddle keeper. The one by the seat is difficult to use and more than not I ended up dropping the paddle in the water. I am liking the Zucka tube much better than the Scotty rod holder that was getting in the way when paddling. Definitely have the line cutters and BerleyPro on my to do list. Thanks for the great tips. What do you do for an anchor system?

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yakattack Park n pole. I also use good will $3 5lb dumbbells. Amazing yak anchor with a spot for rope in center. I have 4-5 of these made up fir guiding

    Great video. I'm going to demo one when it gets warmer. How do you like the seat? I've heard a lot of complaints about it. It seems to be from people that have used a vantage seat before. I really like the adjustability of the vantage seat. I hope they make a premium version of the Compass next year.

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      im the opposite. i have nothing but trouble with the advantage seat kick stand and bar in front. this seat is bigger and simple. it sits on a stand! done! love it. foot pegs in a outback are a waste of space. compass wide open! front hatch is useless in outback. compass wide open! love it!

    • @TomyTekOutdoors
      @TomyTekOutdoors 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      30milesOut Thanks for your feedback. I did the mod to prevent the kick stand from retracting. The front bar is a pain. It does take a couple of tries to seat it properly. Can't wait to do a demo. It's way too cold up here right now. I wish I was down your way.

      it should do well. we will see in the spring. its got the space for sure and width. its got a lower nose than a outback. we will see if that is a issue or not!

    Where can I find that net you mounted on the side for storage? I did not see a link below for that item. I have been searching amazon and google for something just like that but have had little luck. Most results are for giant nets for SUV's and things.

      911 Tech check at a Hobie dealer. I’m sure Mariner Sails or Three Belle Outfitters has them on their website.

      lots of big yaks out there now days bud. for pedal yaks check out the hobie pa 14 for sure. the native titan is massive. as for paddle yaks, the jackson big rig or big tuna come to mind... anyone?????

      I agree with Ty. I’m a bigger dude and I felt comfortable on the Hobie Pro Angler 14. Me personally hate to paddle and the cadence of the peddle drive on the other kayaks wasn’t for me. I don’t like to ride bikes so I knew I wouldn’t like the non mirage drive peddle drives. Try to take one for a test ride before investing all that money. I’m confident that if you just bought one you wouldn’t regret. Fish more paddle less. Best of luck on your search

      loving the compass. i still have it. compass is almost as fast but has way more room. no standing in my revo. compass i use it paddle board style for an hour straight. i still use revo for long range speed days or for when i guide lots of folks.
