I got this one 2 days ago, and it's so much better than I thought it would be. The plastic quality is good, it's not gonna break unless you're not careful or you want it to break. It's better in every way than the SS38 (I have the aoyi SS38KO and I hate it bc of the plastic, quality control and design), except for the alt mode and the shoulder joint of course. The joints are very stiff and I think I like this type of stiff joints because there are no loose spots, but you need to be careful because there are some very stiff spots that can lead to hand pain such as the wrist transformation and the tabs in the leg.
It's totally worth it. Go buy it right now!

I got the official one, but BMB does looks better overall. I'm also looking forward to Baiwei's Ss102 too.

Adding another comment to mention that I just got this today, only they reverted to thr flat gray of the Hasbro versions without any silver paint even though the box kept the original OP-01 look 😐

Yes, mine also came without the silver paint in the front, the stacks, the lateral tank and the parts above the cabin. It's a pity.
Bruh I got him in the mail yesterday and I got the unpainted gray plastic version, I was rly looking forward to the one with chrome and silver. Can’t believe I got finessed

I got the official version already, but this will not only be getting the upgrade kit from DNA Design but also use some Autobot insignias
I got it yesterday , overall a good figure but some joints on my copy are too thight , still nice 👌

If you can't get the official and want an original version of the mold, then yes.

@@collegetfreviewer it the same model. And I'm not spending hundreds although It would depends what it is. I'm I'm England and it cost me £6 with post. I did get the lemon tree ko version and it pretty good has the same tolerance issues and quirks but I do have an optimus rotb so I'm happy once I get it I'll drop you a comment. The most iv spend on a figure 45 and I got warbotron bruticus and yeh...... It sucks but it stands above all and holds my keys 🤣🤣

I heard the plastic might be a bit brittle and I have seen some copies that have broken. Might be best to wait for the baiwei ko version.
If you don't need an "original" version of the mold then I would recommend getting the BW. I will review that figure as well!
Nice review though I probably won't grab this or the Baiwei one since I have the official but this looks like a good quality KO.

The joints get better with play, definitely recommend this figure, though if you want the best version of this mold, I would recommend waiting for the BaiWei release (which I will also review). The BaiWei version should have a cleaner bed profile in truck mode and be compatible with BaiWei's jetwing trailer.
@@collegetfreviewer yeah I have the baiwei white optimus prime ko ss32/44 which has the joins very very strong, I do recommend to you, it will be nice for your collection, unfortunately I don't have anymore the ko of ss38 bc when I was trying to fixing the feet became broken, but I only have his ion blaster which has kinda have metallic plastic , I know there is another ko of ss 102 with the clean bed but it is not for me, but I'll wait your review, also baiwei will do the ko from ss rotf Megatron if I not wrong, for the white prime I do recommend you to buy the "no box" option bc has more strong joint, from what I know with the box has loose joints.

Which joints are the tightest? What did you do to loosen the stiff joints?
The knees, thigh swivel, and shoulder transformation rotation joint. They are all peg joints so just keep transforming and playing with the figure to loosen them--that's my strategy!
Think the DNA design upgrade would work on the KO ?

Is it the same plastic quality as in SS102 or is it cheaper?
Don't know because I have not been able to track down SS102. Overall it feels about the same as typical hasbro products, though this figure also has some diecast. Joints are very stiff.
@collegetfreviewer Diecast, huh.? If it's diecast, then it makes him even better than the official one.
@@transformandgobricks7820 Weight wise yes, however the transformation requires quite a bit of force due to the stiff joints and poor tolerances in a few places. I would only recommend this figure if you cannot track down the original SS-102 or if you are not getting the Bai Wei release.

Target sucks!!!! Hasbro sucks for making such an important character an exclusive. Im hoping he still gets a standard SS release. Actually, i couldnt get scourge or battle trap either. It’s like Hasbro slept on this line.

No actually, mine came that way, though it has been pointed out that later versions of the figure no longer come with the silver paint apps

Is Only complete if he has All of his parts including the Trailer, his Matrix, Roller, sky spy , his mech tech gear and his gun and shield. Only when he has All of him , Only then will he truely be complete. If he only comes as his cab, and does Not have any of his parts, that figure is Not a Real Authentic Optimus prime. It's only a cheap knock off.

U.S.A. Here SS-102 was a Target exclusive item that has now been discontinued. Hoping the Takara release is more widely distributed.

This is not a good toy this is a ko a china toy so it will break soon because ko plastic is worse
That is a very broad generalization, and though the plastic quality and joints may not always be as good does not make it a bad toy. And all toys are basically made in China, with many KOs coming from the same factories as official toys.
