i burn wood all the time and if you keep burning the spruce keep a close eye on the creosilt build up in stove and the pipes....make sure you have a small brush that will fit inside the pipe and some fiber glass handles that screw together till you can go through the top of the pipe to keep it open....creosilt burns very hot...over 2000 degrees and don't need you guys getting a fire....take care and just do a lil more research about wood fires and safety....

Looks great guys, I’m in Willow and got over 10 foot of snow last year. I think I would cover your mill up, depending on where your at you won’t see it till spring, I have mine on a trailer and keep it under a pole barn or in my shop, if you plan on cutting I’d definitely cover the whole thing, tracks and all or you’ll spend more time digging it out than using it, you Guys have come a long way, winter will be a challenge but you two will love it I’m sure, just gets long before spring, God Bless you Guys 🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸

Good to see you again, Lori and Cody! I loved to see Codi figuring out how and where to install a ceiling to redistribute some of the heat to help it being more comfortable and warm in you living space. That was an act of love for your wife who will be spending more time inside as the winter wears on. I pray that the Lord will care for you this season, and that you will have sufficient fuel to burn. Take care of each other faithfully, provide for the comfort which all three require! Hope to hear from you in the future again!

It would be a good idea to get six sets of chains for the side by side. Any electrical connection especially outside benefits from vaseline (cheap and effective) or dialectic silicone. The green crud starts growing without it and eventually makes a high resistance connection or an open circuit.

I'm sure y'all know this but you should only burn dry wood if possible. Back in the day when wood stoves weren't air tight it was pretty standard practice to burn a lot of green wood just to keep the stove from getting too hot and especially at night but with these modern stoves it's much easier to regulate the burn rate. Every stove is different and there's a learning curve. Thank you for sharing your journey with us 👏

Hi Codie, Lori and Irie. It's so good to see a new video today! So glad to see the top floor insulated so the upper water pipes and water tank hopefully won't freeze. The snow is beautiful. I hope you stay safe and warm during the coming winter. See you next time. 😊❤

Guys you might consider a wash line or 2 in your house for the winter. You have to be able to completely dry your out door gear, also the drying creates humidity and with the wood stove you will have a very dry home. You can't risk going out with damp clothes in the winter. Another thing maybe consider a tin can matches small candle granola bars and small kettle for emergency in truck
Love your strength and courage. Stay strong you got this

Thanks for the video. Don’t take this as criticism but if you burn wet/green wood you will have a creosote build up that will catch fire and burn your new house down. It’s no joke, especially as far from emergency services you are. Second those solar panels need to be facing south, at least 100 feet from the nearest trees in southern direction and I would highly suggest that mount them somehow. 1st gust of wind they’re gonna fly and smash. Good luck and stay safe

Panels - you don't want even 1" of shade on the cells as any shade at all will cause the entire string (panels in series) will not produce if any panel in the string has any shade. The board at the bottom of the panel might cause a bit of shadow on the bottom cells (I can't tell for sure in the vid) and any shadow/shade will rendering the entire panel useless (maybe 10% of what it could do). Similarly, you don't want any snow build up. Try to mount the panels up off the bottom of the trailer and not cover the edge cells :)

I like watching your progress although the Granny in me will always worry for your safety out on the middle of nowhere with terrible cold and snow for the next few months to survive. You have worked so hard and made great progress. Be conservative in your planning- more wood than you think you will need, etc. And I recommend an emergency communication device in case you loose cell connection and need medical care. God bless. I am praying for you!

I would be saving every little piece of insulation to use it in the outhouse. Even if you build a simple door you could stuff it in the gaps to keep wind out. With pregnancy come lots and lots of bathroom trips. A pool noodle on the end of a the metal rake forks help knock snow off the greenhouse
