"Colors" is a song by Ice-T, issued as the title track for the soundtrack to the film of the same name. The song was released as a single in 1988 I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS SONG #ICET #COLORS

I love Ice-T. Love his band Body Count, seen him at Reading, love the movies he's in and like his early stuff like this... Colors is a pretty damn good movie too.

@@jasonito23 Can we sneak Public Enemy in there too? I have seen them live more times than anyone else. So 1987-89 was the best year in Hip-Hop, yeah? Math is for nerds anyway. 😂
Your comment reminded me of a Ludacris line that went something like 'hardest light skinned rapper since Ice T' 🔥 _it was from the song NUMBER ONE SPOT_
Man we got meth and ice hear but not that coke crack, and the crazy times we've had here when a really good batch of product comes through the suburbs And so I sorta understand what meen, That would have been Awesome, ❤
A few of yall talking crap about this song judging it by todays ways. This was 1988. Of course its different. Different time, fashion, way of speaking everything. Its still dope imo and i was born in 88. That gritty sound, great lyrics. Classic no doubt.
Although this was the genre of music I enjoyed as a young teenager in LA back in the 90s, I would have never imagined that as of today this music has been the biggest influencer of so many deaths, violence and crime throughout black communities. These are facts. There Has never been any other music in the entire history that has influence so many deaths, murders behind its influence including the deaths of the actual rappers..
Maybe just 18 years when this came out. Awesome movie, but the realistic lyrics of this song wraps up whatever the movie couldn't. It created a narrative few knew or understood. It should be mandatory study in high school and college. That out of the way, all young brothers stationed over seas would lose their collective minds in the club. From the top of the song with the synth bass hits, it was pandemonium. Not necessarily dancing, but pacing back and forth on the dance floor, swinging arms and hands, pumping with each beat and bar dropped and spit. It was one of the songs that connected us to back home, while we served abroad, regardless of where we were from geographically stateside. Those were the days.
I love the message g I can’t remember back in the day ever seeing all the positive messages but I hope and that some youngsters appreciate the positive messages and not all the negative ones
We love the “new school” Ice T. Teaching the game. Helping the youth and community on the low. Faithful husband… but that “old school” doesn’t go away, just redirected.
I remember telling this GD from Chi in '81. I said the main difference is you use violence to defend your drug sales. In LA, we use drug sales to finance violence. Big Difference.
Don't mind a young brother asking because I have friends from LA from Watts how was it for you because I'm from NYC and the drug violence is different for us 😂
@@blackflash-mb1wp just like I said, but not so much now. With crack it changed. Meth and fenn are changing it too. Cali gangs sell dope to finance gang bangin'. NYC gangs form up to protect dope sales.
