Pete DePoe’s sacred name is Last Walking Bear. (Circa 9:00) He is the original drummer of the first Native American Rock band Redbone. His King Kong Beat is world-renowned, and his chops are in “Come And Get Your Love.”
Thank you… I ❤ that song! I thought this was Wally. Is that the same person? This guy is fantastic! I’d love to hear from the Mrs… the Grandmothers too.
Sitting here listening to you, Grandfather, and I have to say thank you. I have been listening to your teachings for a few years now, and your wisdom has made such a difference in my inner life. Thanks for helping us to walk through this life. So grateful that your teachings are here.
My grand father was one of the direct decent of Geronimo. He was from Ruidoso, and my grandma was from Zia Pueblo. How they learned to speak Navajo is beyond my understanding. To this day I am proud to be Native🦅🦅
Thank you Grandfather. I was taught the same values of family and prayer. So important to teach our next generation respect for themselves and others. My mother and grandmother taught me the power of prayer and family ❤
Family is most important!! My wife and I kicked a 15-year opiate addiction, and we both quit working to care for our parents. My mom had ALS, so she needed 24-hour care. 12 years I stayed by her side!! My wife's mother is dealing with cancer, and my father-in-law has had a stroke and is in a wheelchair. My mom recently passed away, and now I help my wife with her parents. Our parents taught us the importance of family, and now we are showing them how we innerstand what they taught us!! If you're a caregiver and you need someone to talk to, where always here if you need to vent.
Since the passing of both of my parents recently, your teachings, wisdom, and antidotes keep me upon the straight and narrow. Although I am essentially of European descent, your words resonates with my spirit. Obviously, I conclude your words are true and universal. Please continue to speak. Your grandfather, if I heard correctly, gave you the correct and very powerful sacred name. Thank you.
Thank you. The wind and the birds blew me east from Colorado, down through Texas and up the east coast to where I am now in boston. Boston fed me while I was an outdoor cat. Now, I am a USPS employee and an indoor cat that is looking forward to transferring back to Colorado when I can. My children are there and I miss them very much. KM6JXA
Thank you Grandfather Wally and Shane for this interesting lesson on the original clans and the history of some of the others. We greatly appreciate all the knowledge you give to us.
We are all so very lucky and blessed for these stories and knowledge. Before it’s lost , I absolutely think it’s important to listen and learn. God bless. ❤
Long live the Dene and all the people who cares for family and brotherhood!! Greetings from an indigenous descendant from Brazil...🎉🎉🎉 as a linguist, I find "Ke'" a very powerful concept. Keep this up!!
I would love to see a meeting of the elders. Not just from the Navajo, but from every part of the world. It'd be interesting to hear everyone tell their stories and traditions and find common ground. I see some of it but only in passing.
For of one manifest you into the now spirit brother so of one could feel your heartbeat for my memories to feed my soul ty for being hear my beautiful spirit family's of ❤3
These videos have changed my life in such a short amount of time. I'm so thankful for all these videos and appreciate this more than you will ever know
Imagine being around a full blooded hopi. His parents grave is at the grand canyon he himself grew up in the canyon. We had his ceremony at the canyon. Spread his ash as well. This man looks and speaks similar.
There was a young man named Kevyn Beggae that was Baptized into my Church when we confirmed him as a Member the Bishop unknowingly had made the Sign of the Whirling Log. That experience taught me alot, and led me to find this Channel. I will never forget it.
Family to me is the primary platform through which God’s Grace works. That’s one reason that our two-year old grandson spends most of the day here Monday through Friday so that we can pack him full of love, life-skills, knowledge and wisdom.

Thank you for highlighting, explaining, and impressing how important the traditional family is, in all the senses that you spell out, especially in our current times as they're trying to destroy and eliminate the concept of family.
Family has always been my lifeline. I’m not sure exactly how I came to have such strong feelings of unconditional love and protection for my family, but these have defined much of my life. Maybe my Sicilian father? As the oldest of three children, I’ve felt responsible for my brother and sister almost like a parent, and cared for them when they needed it. They were always there for me too, as is my mother. I’m a peaceful person with a “live and let live” attitude... until someone threatens any member of my family (including 4-legged). Then I transform instantly into a frightful force (I am told). I’ve reached the age where relatives are passing on to the next world, some of them very young, including my sister. This is so hard for me, it feels like I become less and less tethered to Earth. It reminds me of Grandfather Wally speaking about “How did you become a surface person?”, the question that is answered by identifying your clan families. Without family, I would not feel that I belong here. I just find it interesting that I identify so closely with these teachings about family.
Thank you Mr Brown. My clan is of the permanent black still water. I have been taken on a vision in the abyss and taught the wisdom of the Dine'. Swamped marshes always draw me near without fear yet ao top of the mountains you can see most clear. Thank you for all your wisdom teachings. May we come together in helpful service for each other. The self ego won't allow the true self to help and just behold, it needs to hold and have more of what cannot be kept.
Dine pray in song & dance as the drums beat of our hearts and in harmony vibrating with Madre de la Tierra. I am a Mestiza of Spanish & Native blood 🩸 that my mother’s family could not claim during the Great Depression to avoid being judged&procecuted. Truth ~ Do not speak for Grandfather Wally . I cherish his knowledge & respect his teachings. Poof be gone!
I do enjoy listening to this gentleman. Wish I personally knew him and could spend time around him. He certainly has much wisdom to provide. People today need the type of wisdom he offers. Many young folks today are lost and are aimlessly wandering through life and need guidance. But, ultimately, they need to seek God and that requires reading His word.
You and the histories you share are a strength to some of those weakened by the an unwieldy chaos challenging the trueing of spiriting orders strength to the families of this world!
The four original clans of the Navajo people are Kinyaa'áanii (The Towering House clan), Honágháahnii (One-walks-around clan), Tódich'ii'nii (Bitter Water clan) and Hashtł'ishnii (Mud clan).
These teachings break my heart. My people are not from here, but we have been here for many generations. I’d love to have the teachings necessary to connect with this land of my own accord… in the proper traditional way.
Thank you! I love the Navajo people I know here. Mom was Apache (mid New Mexico, dad was Scottish. I love our southwestern culture. Abundant blessings to you and your family. Also, thank you for serving our nation, sir. ❤
At the beginning of the video, protect is correct. However, if said family members are working against you, it might be best for oneself to walk away. 😔 Pray for them but at a distance. Let go and let God.
Although this time brings a lot of totally new challenges, it also brings some amazing things. For instance, I can listen to this wise elder, while on the other side of the world. Isn't that amazing? Thanks!
I lived on the Navajo nation. The neglect and abandonment of dogs, cats and horses is appallingly. I’ve traveled all over the world, but have never seen animals left to suffer like that in such large numbers. Starving to death, dying of thirst and run over by cars, left to die on the side of the road. We rescued countless dogs during the years we lived there. Please, please take care of your animals, because if you don’t, it will bring you great, spiritual and physical problems. You know animals are spiritual beings too. You know that better than the majority of ignorant, materialistic Westerners. Be an example to the rest of the world before it’s too late for all of us. A dark cloud hangs over humanity because of the wrong treatment of animals… Teach the world by example. Please.
So true. Horses are held sacred, they are tied to ceremonies, yet, many do not see this connection anymore. Traditionally one cannot say i have Horses if you don't care for them daily. If one let's Horses roam, that's not called having horses.😊
Yup, I've actually seen not only my people but people leave dogs on side of road. Care for dogs or/and spay/neuter like Bob Barker repeated. It's all about ❤

16:27 "Parents Control your Children. Either that or control yourselves and don't have any more".😄 That has to be the Statement of the Century 😇
Native American children are very well trained, respect their elders, don't interrupt adults talking !
My grand father was one of the direct decent of Geronimo. He was from Ruidoso, and my grandma was from Zia Pueblo. How they learned to speak Navajo is beyond my understanding. To this day I am proud to be Native🦅🦅
One of the nicest things, when family members pray for each other and wish well for one another ❤
