Everybody is so mean to James because he’s English. There is long running joke over here in the UK and in Ireland that the Scottish the Welsh, the northern Irish and Southern Irish all hate the English due to us invading their countries. Not to mention this is in the middle of the troubles which means there’s going to be even more dislike towards the English.
As the curly haired english born cousin of Irish family, I had my head in my hands the moment James showed up😅 I really love it though. Would love to see more reactions.
In UK and Ireland are very strict around school uniform so even if you were to wear something it simply a denim jacket that could get land intention for like the whole week in fact at my old school. If you wore a Hoodie on your way to school, then you could get put in detention if you walked onto school property wearing it.

The thing about going crazy over the blazers is I went to a school that had a school uniform and the school can be very strict to make sure they are following it to the letter I remember at my school you needed a special slip to pardon yourself if you were wearing something that wasn’t part of the school uniform
Concerning the accents, I believe there are differences in Irish accents. I think I read only the nun and Erin are actually from Derry so the others had to learn the Derry accents.

Also the actress who plays Michelle is from Derry. Later on, in season 3, there will be a cameo from a famous actor who also is from Northern Ireland.

To understand the show better it may be best to read about the Troubles in Northern Ireland. It comes up quite a bit in the show.
It was short because of the way it was edited. They cut loads of it out.
They are short episodes but they always pack a lot into each one. Wait till you find the episodes that feature a bit more about Clare (Nicola.) 👍👍
Editing is hard especially when the humor is hard to follow.
