The condition of an act of worship being bid'ah is not that you think "it is Sunnah". If it was like that , then I can pray 4 rakats Maghrib. I know its not the Sunnah, but praying an extra rakat is good to do. Bidah is something that the Prophet and the companions didnt do, which is done repeatedly, seeking reward from Allah. Congregational Dua was never done by the Prophet or the Companions. There are things which the Prophet ﷺ taught us to do after Salah. Do that.
@@Batatoman123 but the hanafi school of thought differ on this i don’t know why 🤷, specially in India. (Not every hanafi follower but most of em are from that maḍab)
@can u show the hanafis who say it’s not a bidah? Because I do follow the hanafi Madhab and I haven’t seen anyone quote something from the hanafi major scholars. Just because someone says they follow the hanafi madhab like majority of the sufis say they do it doesn’t mean they actually follow their teachings. بارك الله فيك
I heard this quote from one of the most famous imam in hanafi maḍhab. Imam ibn Abidin may Allah have mercy on him quoted that; “لا بأس بالدعاء بعد الصلاة، بل هو حسن لينتفع به الحاضرون.” Translation: “There is no harm in making dua after prayer; rather, it is good so that those present may benefit from it.” Book: Radd al-Muhtar ala al-Durr al-Mukhtar Volume/Page: Volume 1, Page 341! He never said it is obligatory but nonetheless he mentioned that one should act upon it. No doubt Abu hanifa may Allah have mercy on his soul was the best of the best scholar yet most of his followers are either from super Sufi’s or Deobandis !! Soo they force to make congregational dua to imams (not all of them thou). Wa feeka barak Allah ☺️!
It is consider sunnah or not it is bidah. Because doing this dua not consider by prophet than why you were doing prophet do dhikr than why are you not doing it just want to get away from sunnah. What type of hilarious answer is this.
If it is an acceptable time for dua it would seem foolish to leave discard it, however even those who choose not to participate are covered in such duain.

Great and simple explanation
The prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam didn't do it so if we do it will be an innovation which is biddah

Agreed
Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh but what do u mean by congregational dua?
The dua done by whole jam’ah who prayed the prayer. (After every farḍ salah)
@ then that’s a bidah because none of the salaf did it
