I really hope they don’t look/are that old in the movie. I think it ruins the vibe of them being young and impressionable, but also showing them maturing.
Each Scythe designs their own. Maybe that’s how those characters designed theirs? The white one was clearly Scythe Faraday and he’s cloak in the trailer looks about like I imagined his would be. Especially after he’s so adamantly defensive over Citra’s behavior.

Scythe was a great read. My fiancee is now reading it as well.. We are excited to see where the series goes and hope that Universal will move forward with the motion picture.
This, was the first book that actually made me cry in the end, I'm not a typically sensitive to anything I know isn't real, but the way it was made was so well thought out, well organized and utilized to near perfection! I had never read a book series faster than this and never had felt so sad to see it end!

I don't think this is official. There is a little more information out there now that it's four years later but the trailer looks like it only took a couple days to make. So I think that this is just to show what it would be like, of course it would be better with more founding. But this doesn't seem to have any conformation, they just, put this out there and make people ponder. The fact is that movie is under development and it seems that in around 2024 this might be a thing. I just hope this wont be the next "The Last Airbender" or something.

Completed reading it yesterday, and wasn't sure if it was a one trick pony... But 100 pages in to Thunderhead and I can definitely say this series is one fine piece of work! This book really needs more hype. I understand that the movie is in the works, and will be awfully sad if it isn't as good as the Hunger Games or other great book adaptations, and not a horrendous Eragon book-to-movie disaster

My actual fan cast for this movie is Whitney peak as Citra and I’m not rly sure about Rowan but prolly either Gavin Leatherwood or someone like that as him. Scythe Curie I would LOVE Eve Best in that role but I don’t know if that will come to fruition since Neal wants Meryl Streep or Helen Mirren in the role. He also wants Ian McKellen as Scythe Faraday which I think would be GREAT but also Harrison Ford could also do it now that he’s older and embracing older roles. Scythe Goddard does have a semi-darker skin tone in the books and is younger so he could be played by Mena Massoud
When there is a movie for this, I really really hope they do it closely to the books simply because this is the first book I've read since 2007 and one of only a handful I've read in my entire life.
I know I'm answering late, but I honestly recommend Neal Shusterman's other books. So far I've read Roxy, Dry and Challenger Deep, and they're all amazing
I feel like this could be a great movie, here's hoping it will turn out, like there is so much potential here. it'd be a shame if didn't come out at least decent

I wanted to be a Scythe untiiiiiil, I got a few chapters in and I'm like shiiiiid this ain't no regular job or career this is the equivalent of enlisting in the marines and being on the frontline. This book gets very real. I cant wait for the movie. Neal hit it out the park with full bases covered in the last inning. It's that good!

When I was reading the book series, I interpreted Citra as a blond, white girl, while I interpreted Rowan as more of an African American. I don't know what it is, but it just felt right as the story went on.

Update it's becoming a series by speilburg as of july 2024. It is still in script phase and if they keep moving forward, we should expect it by 2026

Honestly Volta and Faraday were my favorite and (spoiler alert if you haven't read it) I was so upset when they died.
