It is literally 2020, and your content is still extremely relevant to me. I love going back and forth between your channel and learning about colors and lighting. Thank you so much for all your content, you're one of the TH-cam artists that are really good at explaining keynotes, lighting, staging, and follow-through with your execution!
I know there are lots of videos on TH-cam about painting and drawing, but i really believe if it is possible then you should do more videos because your work is awesome and your videos are very useful. Specially if i see other videos about digital painting they are more based on Photoshop techniques but your videos are based on painting and this can be used for oil painting or digital painting or any other kind of mediums not just Photoshop. You produced awesome results with simple brushes less complicated stuff . I would like to see more about composition specially about creating story telling composition with imagination abd how much need to look for reference
I have watched literally hundreds of digital art tutorials. I've been a photographer for 15 years and am proficient in Ps for photo manipulation and retouching but I want to learn how to draw and paint. Your videos are the best I've ever seen. I will buy your classes. Thank you for making great content.
I'm also a photographer. I find his channel looking for color grading and colors theory. His videos are very use full to understand better the light. His explanations are so good, so clear, and he gives so many understandable informations in a so short time. I will buy the class about color also, maybe after about the face. 🙂
So glad you made this. You talk about how you have a hard time coming up with any subject for a video that hasn't been done before, but I don't think I've found anyone on TH-cam who has such informative, useful, and inspiring digital painting videos. These are great man.
"That's okay this drawing is not hard to do..." Now hold on there a second buddy. I only got out of bed this morning by sheer coincidence and you think I can paint something that good?
if you draw something everyday, you will be surprised how fast you will get at creating finished art. First it may take you a long time for 1 piece but after a few years it will only take you a few hours.
I know your videos were made 3 years ago, but I just wanted to says, it's help me a lot when I'm painting, to listen to them. Thank you for your time :)
I just wanted to say thank you so much.. you can’t imagine how every word you say inspires and teach me, I literally keep on watching your tutorials over and over again, besides of how enjoyable it is to watch your process and your finished pieces ❤
Its wild coming back to this and hearing you say that you worry you wont have a unique or worth while things to say. Nowadays i recommend your videos to literally everyone who asks me for advice w painting. I go back and rewatch them myself all the time to brush up and remind myself of things. Thank you so much for the education you provide and the enthusiasm and love for art with which you provide it
Hey I'm a recent watcher of your videos! I've added three of your vids to my "learning" list. I just want to say that your work is massively impressive. The way you're able to condense, composition, value, and color all into a single step that takes you 22 minutes just amazes me. I've tried it myself and... well I'm not there yet. xD But you've given me a goal to strive for! So thank you for putting yourself out there and teaching!
I am a beginner artist and your videos helped me a loooooooot! Your extremely high level of consciousness throughout the whole creation is just remarkable. It's like a very well-structured and optimized engineering process, following reasonable hierarchy, and with each step crystal clear. I bet you know exactly what you're doing, the reason of doing it, and how it will contribute to your final work within each tiny step. Your channel is definitely one of the most nutrient-dense one on my list and I will surely recommend my friends check out the videos.
I really love the way you do with your works. Nowadays, there are too many artists who just focus on technique and layer, that like a ninja who is crazy on looking for a great weapon without important skill and Knowledge. Thank you so much.
I really love your work.. I watch your 10 minutes series repeatedly because it's so useful for a beginner like me.. Touching the fundamentals of painting rather than technique to paint on photoshop..
Great tutorial, can't wait to use this for my next project. In regards to your opening comment, there are lots of types of fruit out there, but some people just like apples. It doesn't matter that the video may have been done 1000 times before and maybe you feel like you don't have anything unique to bring to the table, the fact that people want more content from you shows that you have something people like. You have a clear and concise way of explaining what it is you're trying to get across.
Yes! Thank you. The importance of this topic can not be overstated. Just to add - this can be hard. Fitting all the detail, ideas, and what not, the subject into a good image, takes some real thinking, testing, brainstorming some more...
Thank you so much for your fantastic videos. You've inspired me to get my butt in gear and challenge myself more as an artist. I'm now starting a "two thumbnails a day" project just to work on "staging paintings" as you talked about here. I used to think thumbnailing was a bit weird, but you explained it so well and made it seem so simple that I immediately tried it. I may take a bit longer than you did just because I'm still learning, but I'm finding the focus on the "big picture" rather freeing, to be honest.
These are seriously the greatest art videos I've seen. You know so much and go into so much depth that I'm having a great time learning. Thanks a bunch!
Marco Bucci! I also want to be another person who pesters you into making another youtube videos. So far you have been the most helpful and inspirational artists I have found on youtube but you only have so many videos. I've already watched some of them several times or listen to them in the background while I am painting. My boyfriend even sits with me and watches your videos. I love that you do the voice over instead of the music and that you speed up the paintings. That way when I sit down in spurts to draw or paint I can just turn on one of your videos. Please make more! I know its probably not conducive to your schedule but I would appreciate any video's that you would be willing to make! Thank you for you time Mr. Bucci! - An aspiring artist
Billy Maniatis haha, thanks! I am doing just that, actually. Will be posting new videos every 4-6 weeks. Just posted a video today, in fact! Thanks for watching!
I would like to thank you for your wonderful in-depth description on staging. As a photographer, and an artist, I believe your guidance will help me with my shooting, editing and artwork. You have shared some great tools (ideas) that I will keep in mind while working. Also, your professional guidance on the fact that your art is your work...not just a beautiful hobby, is inspirational. I am enjoying learning from you.
hi Marco I didn't know you had videos on here, thank you for the way you inform us on that subject of staging a painting, well done! I'm glad I've got another way to look at my own art!
Hey, how weird, I was just watching some of your old videos yesterday and, bingo, here's a new one! I feel like I have the power now, hmm, who else can I prompt into making another tutorial - Mark Behm perhaps. Anyway, many thanks Marco for putting up these wonderful and informative videos.
+marcobucci I've watched the digital/corel painter ones I don't know how many times now but, boy, does he also know how to make form appear on those oil sketches as well - just amazing to see someone in full control of their technique.
I used to paint daily, but I gave it up for a more stable career in software. I think I made the right choice, but this makes me want to go home and paint again.
Hello, I know I am 4 years late, but hey, just do any content you want even if someone else already done it. It is just like how people love to listen a song cover by different people. Definitely there are a lot of people who wanted to know your takes on various topic. Thank you
Thanks for your video! I recently watched this one and the other one about merging shapes. I think they really offer valuable advice about painting that are different from other youtube videos. Definitely help me in better understanding how to improve my paintings :D
... and I can*t even draw a cube. Great paintings and good ideas, to think of. Haven't thinked about the perspective thing until now... But I'll keep an eye on it ;)
That's not at all true Marco! You have such a way of teaching that is much more comprehensive that removes all the mystery out of painting. Leaves us feeling as though painting is something that can be learned and its not just some inherit gift!
Thanks a lot, Carol! I'm happy to say that as of late last year I devoted myself to releasing (roughly) one new TH-cam video per month! Glad you're enjoying the channel :)
I'm curious how many layers you used in your digital paintings. They look amazing! How did you make multiply effect into the painting brush? Also hey~ new watcher here! Great work :)
Thanks! I usually just use one layer. I'll only make a new layer if it's some experiment or big change or something. Even then I'll flatten it down once I'm happy with it. You can set brushes to 'multiply' mode at the top, just under the File menu.
You are excelent at teaching, i would like to see more videos from you, even if you make some videos on topics that other artists covered, i would still want to see them. Also, could you make a video covering storytelling more in depth? :)
this is amazing! personally I observed that the painting on the right feels more rendered and smooth. By comparison, the painting on the left have more rough and harsh looking wall and almost random scratches on the bed. Maybe Marco is more comfortable when painting the right one? Although I like the idea of the monster lurking in the shadow and the girl peeking in, the other one feels more soft and quiet.
Cindy looks really cool, but also looks like it would work out much better as a game than a movie (based on animation style; would've made for an epic point & click game, like say edna & harvey: harvey's new eyes was the first thing I thought about looking at the trailer, that's one of my favorites too, would also work as a visual/kinetic novel) But maybe painted cartoons is a new thing, I could see that coming! Karmaka also looks like my cup of tea. And thanks for the video, it was amazing.

I agree.
I also agree, and nobody has the same art style as him either
This aged well
Really liked what you said about flipping the emotion of the painting to avoid cliches. That was like "ah-haaa" moment. Great video!
