Great video. I have been there as well. Just and FYI - Middle Island is the southern most point of land in Canada and is south of Pelee Island and part of Point Pelee National Park.

The place that you are staying is really cute and so close to the water. I was really surprised. I live less than a mile from Lake Michigan and the past few seasons the water levels have been so high that all of the buildings near shore have had to be banked with large rock. I wonder if Erie has faired better as far as levels. Stroopwafel are the best. You can buy them all over the place and I have found that they are all pretty much the same no matter the brand. I have even bought them at Costco before! Let me know if you have problems finding them. I live in a Dutch American community and they are everywhere around here. I would be happy to send some your way if you can’t find them in Toronto. I hope that Lulu got used to the lake sounds after a bit. I imagine that they were alarming to her. Less ice cream this time! 😂 I would love to hear your thoughts on traveling now at the tail end of Covid and going to pubs, etc. Is it difficult to make the transition after a few years of not doing these things much?

Oh yikes, the bunkie we stayed at is very close to the lake so a rise in water levels would definitely impact that property. We read a lot about the great lakes (and mayflies of course) while we were there and learned that Lake Erie is the shallowest lake but I didn't notice any articles about its water levels. I just googled it and it looks like the water levels are supposed to rise for all the great lakes in the coming years. Thank you for the sweet offer to send stroopwafels! :D We found some at our local grocery store and we've been enjoying them here and there (we're on our second little bag already). Things do feel different in terms of travelling. I find I'm not that keen to dine at restaurants anymore (I feel overstimulated plus it's very time consuming and tiring). I prefer to get takeout, but since we're on vacation, we did try to sprinkle in some dine-in or patio visits. I find myself exhausted after outings (even here in Toronto with friends and family) so I've been trying to space them out a bit. How are things where you are?
