Today my yoga teacher was playing this music when we were all stretching, I was deeply moved and captivated by the sound of guitar and the scale it was being played, and happened to ask her about this music at the end of the session, and now I am here.. ;)
Saw them live like five years back. The drummer is really really tight, absolutely in the pocket, and when he plays, his face is like completely dead, and he is starting off somewhere in a state of trance. What a beast!
The unsung hero of this band is their manager who also writes the music. You can see her featured on this cover, third from left. She don’t take no bull
My late girlfriend who passed away in 2018 brought me here this is one of the last songs we listened to ,together before God took her for a greater purpose @nnieneah ❤ forever love you
Dont get me wrong all of the band members are sick but what makes this band different from other “psychedelic band” is the drummer. Just imagine Mark and Laura playing with your typical rock drummer. I think Donald is what holds this band together. His jazzy hiphop style is just unheard of in this type of genre.
I think its the combination of the 3 elements. Dubby bass lines, with a kind of subsaharan electric guitars and a "simple" hiphop, soul jazz beat. It's such a beautifully weird combination
Khruangbin has become the soundtrack to my life. Nbs. Every song is a different mood or dimension to fit everything I'm going through. Thanks for some amazing theme music! Never stop creating! 💯💪👑
Mark has even said he considers the guitar the voice of the band as they don't have a singer, and looks to singers more so than guitarists for inspiration
I love the way mark bounces between chords and melody, so fun to play on guitar. Especially the way he accents certain strings on the chords. Learning the song is one thing but getting the dynamic and rhythm is another story

You can be as good at something as u want, someone else not as good will sound better ANYWAY just because they got some intangible(s) that u don't have. This group got the sauce that others don't have.
That bassline. That damn bassline. First time you listen to the song, you focus on all parts of the song, but every subsequent time, all you will fixate on is the bass.
I was there (if you are talking about Summerstage), incredible show! This and "Hymn" kind of run together in my head, glad they played them both. Glad they played The Man Who Took My Sunglasses too. I was dancing non-stop.
I'm here because of Outer Banks but the music sounded very familiar to me. Now I know why! The inspiration came from Kourosh Yaghmaei's songs. An old Iranian guitarist. I love it!
It's been 26 minutes since I started a play mix with this as the first song and I haven't made it past this song yet. 4:28 That replay button is one hell of an enabler.

This is by far my favorite Khruangbin song! Question for bass players: What is the technique used in the fourth beat of every other measure (not in the intro)? It is like a muted note.
According to Mark Speer, this song was inspired by “Gole Yakh” by Kourosh Yaghmaei, an Iranian singer from pre revolution Iran. Their other song, Maria Tambien is also inspired by pre-revolution Iranians female singers.
I've written a whole movie in my head with this song as the score

This is the type of band I was looking for.
Khruangbin, serving humanity as always. 🌌

The vibe I get from this is crazy!! Makes me feel like in some kind of Kill Bill/Afro Samurai cutscene. Love this ✌🏾
Totally. It's like Tarantino is driving and in the back seat are the Sultan of Oman and Ravi Shankar.
This style is so pure and refreshing, like water from a cold spring.
This is absolutely, ridiculously, criminally DOPE!
It takes me to someplace, some life I am sure I lived in another existence.

Yep, he’s a great drummer. Simple but super tight. Must surely be a fan of hip hop.
