1:05 It’s weird how they designed that road for buses, I mean buses are suppose to be on the footpath side not the road side, it can be extremely dangerous to bus driver especially on a road like that.
There sure is in this video, all shot on one day within a few hours during peak time. Was happy to get out there, can be exhausting hence why have not done much videos like this one! I broke out in a sweat pacing from location to location, rarely get much walking done these days :)
An entire city with modern air-conditioned buses and even Double Decker bus, congratulations New Zealand Thanks for the comments, yes in recent years all new buses have a/c but there are still older buses on school trips and charters that have no no a/c :)
@@jamespeter1662 thank you james.decades ago once I got the visa to visit new Zealand but changed my mind after found that tax for gemstones is 65%.end if this year I might visit new Zealand.
@@samjewellery3336 Yes it is a sadly a high cost place to live, the very wealthy have a great time but average income earner its becoming harder place to live especially the larger cities. A visit is always good, good place to be right now :)
James, quick question. I take it that Birkenhead was allowed to keep their colors? I saw there was a public campaign to allow them keep their individuality despite Metrolink wanting everything uniform in the silver & blue.
Hi Henry, sorry missed your question. Unfortunately, Birkenhead has had to change to the AT Metro livery, it is a shame as I was rather fond of their colours. Their uniform was more simple too, blue shirt an I think navy trousers. Metrolink name has been discontinued (still visible at depots an some buses) and AT Metro is the big name we all under now :)
yes, correct, but AT Metro no Metrolink anymore :) RT is Ritchies, PC is Pavlovich, BA is Bayes, TR is Trans urban/Tranzit , HE is Howich & Eastern, there might be others :)
There are a few articulated buses run by Bayes Coachlines in the AT livery and older charter buses that are articulated. Electric buses have started to be introduced in Auckland and other New Zealand large cities. Thanks for the comment, it did not show in my notifications sorry :)
Hi, approximately between 430pm and 830pm. Got some other video to load also, borrowed my friends camera so took plenty of photos around town and on the shore :)
I quite often see busses you've driven around town and think, I wonder if that's James driving it. I saw the #1410 last Monday just after you'd posted photos of it, and thought hmmm. My favourite absolutely, they're a classic now faxhole . I have them every morning from GI, 834, 833, 830, 806, 807 etc, all the ones from the panmure depot.
Haha, well it could be me or maybe not :) I use to keep all my duty reports stating which bus I was driving, cant recall if I was driving 1410 on Monday but maybe. I caught a few of them on camera, will sort pics as took 500 or so! Lucky you haha, its been ages since I drove one. At City Depot I got them quite a lot, the odd one was actually nice to drive on a good day!
Lucky country

Many of those Enviro 500 MMCs were made in Zhuhai.
Yes, the second batch I think was not sure about first I've heard mixed stories they were assembled here but I think they were built in China :)
I'm off to see Tranzit's Electric bus at the Kilbernie Fair Tomorrow, so there will be a new video for that!
Hi Alex, nice... I look forward to seeing the video! Have fun :)
Cool, there's buses everywhere. Just the way I like it!

I thought that might be the case, getting on in age to haul back up here.. sad as missed those 22's especially :)
@@jamespeter1662 Have you heard that Wellington are getting 67 more electric buses
@@jamespeter1662 Yep they are all staying all of the 2200s have been repainted and most of the 2100s have now gotten repainted

Good point, becoming a crowded city of cars!

I may have saw the answer to my own question. The buses identified as BT## are Birkenhead Transport Metrolink buses.

James Peter wow that's awesome. I passed through town at about 5.30 on a NEX and transferred to the Fairfax on commerce street.
Hi Chris, haha maybe you saw me. I was wondering around that area around that time. Ahh your favourite faxhole bus eh :)
