- The full car list for NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered was released quite some time ago and unfortunately it was missing 3 cars from the 2010 version and 2 of them are the SLR Stirling Moss and SLR Mclaren 722 Edition due to licensing issues. So in this video, lets give these 2 Exotics a proper goodbye in "Breaking Point" and "Calm Before The Storm" Hot Pursuit Events! Also EMP some Helicopters.

@Shadow Knight Wasn't just Mclaren. Mercedes was fighting them over the rights as well. They both had a hand in creating the SLRs.

The SLR has been like this.. odd unintentional unicorn in most racing games today. It was even taken out of the later Forza titles, and it doesn't seem like too many more games are getting the SLR nowadays. It almost feels as if Mercedes and McLaren can't seem to reach a deal regarding the vehicle's use in outside media.
Simple, they don't want these classic beasts taking all the glory away from all the AMG cubs, those computer cars also need to develop some fame, you know.
The problem is they want to introduce the newer lineup, especially with McLaren having as wide a range of vehicles as they do now... It's how we witnessed the end of the crazy old GT1 cars, like the CLK-GTR, Porsche 911 GT1 or the Maserati MC12. What was the last game that used those? I think I remember the CLK-GTR in Hot Pursuit 2, and the MC12 was in the old Test Drive Unlimited, the GT1 I have no idea... last game I played it in was NFS V.

True, but if you eye the speedo, he never got over 230mph, even with the Turbo. Just made it feel like you gone faster...
Sadly you only really notice it when looking at someone else drive, and not when you drive yourself in the game...

@@yezki8 Actually, It’s McLarens fault. McLaren is being pushy about the lisencing, however Mercedes was the one who initiated the partnership in the first place. McLaren called off the partnership

You can argue that not every Blackbox NFS is a good one. But everyone of them is a good try. They always try to do something new with every release. Evem though they weren't allowed more development time, they still try to break their own formula to innovate. And that means a lot more than the corporate-induced NFS we get these days.
@@luxel3365 Every single Black Box games were better than Ghost games NFS because BB took risk and tried to innovate. None of their NFS games were copy paste (Carbon had slightly different handling model compared to MW).
@Camarade Toff BB were actually trying to outdo MW but sadly EA and the fans asking for MW2 forced them the rush the game's development. Still, Carbon is my one of my favourite NFS games.

stirling moss was one of the best exotic cars in the game pushing the one:77. quite gutted because i never used to like it but it hugely grew on me especially after the death of stirling moss. RIP, this was one of the cars i was quite looking forward to drive again

Goddammit the Stirling Moss was my fav Exotic class car in the game. Had the most responsive handling and was a joy to drift with..... I used it for all the Exotic class events. Gonna miss it in the remaster 😢 thanks for this.

Carbon motors died, that’s why they aren’t in the remaster, they closed down I think in 2014 due to not getting funding to keep the project running

I loved the SLR in every single version every NFS game had, from Most Wanted onwards. One of the most beautiful I've seen

I hope Criterion will add them back to he game next year cos Mercedes is going to supply engine to again McLaren next season. I think they're gonna have an agreement on the SLR McLaren license.

I just realized the car appears on mobile version of Need for Speed, call NFS No Limits through an update on August this year. So I can't see why the game can't appear in the game.
@@350eti The reason of the licensing issue for the car is because there was a feud between Mercedes and McLaren for their future F1 collaboration. I'm quoting someone's insight on the whole thing from Forza subreddit:
'In 2009, Mclaren F1 racing's sporting director, Martin Whitmarsh decided to lend Mercedes engines to another F1 team named Brawn which ultimately won the championship on their debut season. Mercedes once got the opportunity, they bought the team from Brawn(Ross Brawn, Director of Brawn GP Team) And decided to enter F1 from 2010. This lead Mclaren to lose their works status as Mercedes now have their own team. Unhappy as they were, Mclaren foresaw these chain of events and they became very skeptical. Mercedes strictly denied Mclaren to not produce road cars without their engine. But Mclaren decided to build one of their own. And thus in 2011, Mclaren introduced the MP4-12C, a road legal car was born. Mclaren, as a small company, were not able to produce engines, so they collaborated with another company named Ricardo. MP4-12C was a huge success ultimately lead to Mclaren form "Mclaren Automotive". A separate entity which is completely different from their Formula 1 division.'
So I think if McLaren F1 team and Mercedes can work again, that means the car licensing issue should be sorted out.

I feel like this game doesn’t even really need a remaster because it still looks amazing, even for today’s graphics. I still want a Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon (2006) remaster
I used to be so annoyed with almost every other lobby was almost.everyone.in.the.same.damn.car (S.Moss) so hopefully people can learn to drive something else. But to be something else, I’m pretty sure the ACR Viper is going to get a lot more abused in terms of “competitive” racing 🙄

Quite sad actually. Luckily the OG game still has them and there's a mod for PC that puts the 722 into the racer roster. *I'm probably gonna get slammed for this* but I've never been a big fan of the Stirling Moss when it comes to using it in game. It looks beautiful but I don't like the idea of driving a track day car on the road. The moss is after all, a track day car. Which is why I never really used it despite being quite the machine, but it's nice having it in game thanks to that unique front end.
