Whit your video i now how i can catch barbel i look your other video's about barbel end i got many barbel in belguim with cheese it is great thanks for the barbel video 😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
My lady and my two lads all had there first carp today and strangely all 14lb , I managed a 9.5lb bream but was great family day out thanks for all help with rigs and baiting tips lads
Another nice vid. We don’t have barbel in the US but suckers or other river fish could be captured on this rig. I might suggest using a running rig clip setup in which you can switch out the weight to another weight size or to the feeder. Ultimate flexibility.
I use a running lead, attached to my main line, with a snap link swivel. Easy then to vary lead weights depending on river flow, or to go from lead to feeder. I always use this method on the Severn when barbel fishing, along with varying lengths of hook length and a hair rig
Thanks Carl very informative as always keep them coming , get loads of new ideas and good tips from the tutorial channel. As always best wishes to you all 🎣🐟
I’ve just started to get into fishing first time fishing properly the other day and caught 2 nice sized carps! It’s a great hobby to have but I have no clue about fishing equipment 😂
Hi Carl, I want to start feeder fishing on a river and maybe on a lake, so I wanted to ask if I could mix up both rigs together so that I don't need to retie my lead or hook link just to change them?
Hey! We are working on it at the moment, hopefully we'll have some items sorted soon but it's a long process. We want to get it right, and make some really cool clothes and we're also working on a book too! :)
Good morning gents. Watching your videos is really keeping me going whilst in quarantine in Qatar at the moment, both fishing and the tutorials. I was wondering if you would do/have done a tutorial on the recording side of things? What gear you recomend and the software you use for editing would be a nice insight because your videos are streets ahead in quality compared to the rest of.....the whole of Utube I would say. Thanks for keeping me going. Hope you are both well. Franko.
Guys I’ve watched a few of your videos now a really great work! Wondered if you could do a rod based video for different scenarios, Ive been looking at getting a travel rod setup to keep in the boot something nice and small. Been looking at the travel spinning rods because they pack down so small. Would like to know your thoughts.
I see in a lot of your videos, right before you release the fish, you keep it's tail for a brief moment. Is there an idea behind that? Perhaps to get known if it is strong enough to swim away? Are there any techniques or concerns I need to know about as a beginning fisher for releasing fish? Thanks for your channel, really good content!
Hi there, we like to just hold it in the water for a little bit before it kicks away if possible! Normally with small roach, rudd, perch etc they will just flop back into the water and zoom off. Barbel, trout, grayling and pike are less hardy, and will fight till they are very tired in the water. It's best to give them time to recover by holding them in the water upright before letting them swim off. :)
If you see this could you possibly do a video on how to catch barbel out of private fishing lakes I go to a few that have them stocked and never manage to catch them with the water not having any flow I'm confused as to what I could do. Or maybe someone could suggest something, thanks
When you say you can’t change your feeder or lead without cutting the main line why don’t you just use a link swivel? When tieing the free running rig?
Thanks for that but I'm wary of that type of quick change swivel, I have on occasion lost fish that I've been playing, not a breakage , just that the hook link has gone AWOL.
@@4192362 too many variables I'd not use it. Also the videos basic, not that anything has to be complex but I mean that it caters for anglers who in ideal scenarios don't have nuisance species to be dealt with.. Invasive crayfish etc.

When you say you can’t change your feeder or lead without cutting the main line why don’t you just use a link swivel? When tieing the free running rig?
