Hi TNPrs! Project still strong and working hard thanks to TNP Patreon. Remember TNPP gets the videos first and some never post on the main channel! Here's some TNPr comments from Patreon, join the fun and full flow of TNP content:www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy "Pedro Surplus pistols are always a boat load of fun to watch. 1 2d Scout154 I have been wanting a browning for years now but just out of the price range I was willing. Thanks for finding this one! I'll have to see if I can find one now 1 2d The Nutnfancy Project Let us know if you find one and how you like it Scout 1 2d Load reply Ryan Reese Sweet! I always thought the FEGs were turds but after I was stationed in Hungary for 2 year I saw that they were pretty legit. A bunch of their police and MPs carried them. 2d The Nutnfancy Project "A bunch of their police and MPs carried them. " That's probably where all the wear came from I bet 2d Nick Campbell Ohhh boy. Can’t wait to dig into this review!!! 2d George Cortez love the hi power in all of its forms. My FEG is super cool! 2d The Nutnfancy Project We are trying to get an affordable Hi Power but none to be had, might loan one 2d Ben The surplus / retro gear vids are always great! 1 2d Tomcat503 A-6E...another great Grumman aircraft (Doodle has good taste)! I’d love to see more ARVs (aircraft review videos). 1 2d Connor Murphy Heck yeah! Make ARVs a thing, Nutn. 2d David Gaines I know you feel like it’s not worthwhile but could you do a political call to action for Nov 3? I always enjoy those videos and any little bit to motivate the 2A community helps! We can’t let the radical left destroy the constitution. 4 2d Greg Malcom Nutn, I have an older Hi-Power I could send you to review. It's in good shape and shoots well, if memory serves (I haven't shot it in several years). Let me know if interested. 2d Connor Murphy Great video. I used to have a old Hi-Power that I got for real cheap because all the blueing had worn off and it had a really cool patina. Probably shouldn't have sold it. Oh well. 2d JRP I'd love to get my hands on a Hi Power. Missed on one at auction a couple of months ago. Good vid guys. 2d WinterFallout5 Another great option is the Star BM9 Hi value low cost fun. Great review keep it up. 2d Sheepdog The Browning Hi Power has always interested me. The lines just appeal to me. I should have procured one years ago before they became so difficult to get in good condition. They were the original 'wonder nine'. 1 2d Tacticaldoodle Makes me wish I'd bought them when they were about to be cut. Honestly if they kept going 'til 2017 it made sense they'd just keep running tooling into the ground. Maybe they just never made headway on playing up the history of them, like the 1911 does. Having 'reissue' builds would've been an interesting move for them. 2 2d Paul Kwiatkowski The HiPower just feels good in my hand. 2 2d Rick Grad I was going to "eventually" get a few more .22 pistols, kept putting it off, and now the prices are crazy high. That's also what happened with me and the Hi-Power. I knew I wanted one, but kept putting it off and now they are also very pricy. I did pick up a great condition Beretta 92s Italian Police trade in a few years back. I cleaned it up, got some new grips for it, replaced the recoil spring, and now it's one of my very favorite guns I own. It shoots great, very classic design, and I'll hopefully get to pass it down to my kid when she's old enough to shoot. The mag release is on the bottom of the grips, but I think that's kinda cool too. 2d Lon N Old school cool meets affordability. I remember when the gas crisis hit and you could buy 70's big block musclecars every day for under $1500. I remember passing on a 440 SuperBee for $900 with 42000 miles on it. If I had a Nutn dream review, it would be the ultimate (for me) 9mm carry gun- the Model 39 Smith morphed into an ASP. Thanks for what you do gentlemen. 2d Peter Thomas I love hi powers. Hands down my favorite pistol. On the trigger - removing the magazine disconnect takes 5 minutes and improves the trigger substantially. Strongly reccommend. 2d Beau Dantin I was able to find a few surplus hi powers manufactured by FN off Buds Guns about 5 years ago for around $300. My dad always wanted one so we bought them and I cleaned them up, repainted them and put some Hogue Walnut grips on them. he loved it. Looks very WWII era. More accurate and reliable than the one reviewed but agree about the terrible trigger. The sights on all were beat up and had to smooth them and reshape a little bit but like Nutn said they work. Replacement sights for them are hard to find and match, prob need gunsmithing to fit. My pops is in his 60s and it seems like most guys of that era I talk to the HI Power is the iconic 9mm semi auto. They’ll be in the family forever now- for what they are and the shared project they were. Great review as always. 1d Michael Sestak So happy to hear some Hi Power/ Hi Power clone talk here in the Nutnfancy project! I can get wanting to get a Hi Power clone over an actual FN HP, especially since the BHP got discontinued a few years ago. 2 or 3 years ago, I saw some surplus FN Hi Powers at a shop, and even then in that time of low gun prices, those well used surplus Hi Powers were still 600 bucks. 1d J Ram A6 was definitely a cool plane, but the Air Force F4 Phantom II and was a Vietnam era workhorse....and is the coolest in my book......tied for 1st place with the F-16 Falcon. 1d David Englehart Thanks for the content, as always, Nutn. It's been a bit of a rough week & I'm looking forward to a little down time today & getting caught up vids. So much going on we even missed Spicy Friday (Johnny B) and Full Auto Friday (Kentucky Ballistics) yesterday (our own version of must see TV... lol). This sounds a little corny to say but I really do thank God for the info & wholesome entertainment that you and some other youtubers provide for us. 99% of what the networks churn out these days is garbage and pay TV and streaming platform originals are even worse. So once again, a heart felt thank you from the Englehart family (David, Norma, & baby Isaac)! 1d TacticalBunnyCA Did you guys pull the magazine disconnect out of the gun? 20h Al Ritter Dude, why did you edit out the reference to the table top watch? Looked analog and digital. 1 17h Michael Rodman Whenever I see a HI Power I think of Beverly Hills Cop. 12h"

THE USA SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS ARE COWARDS FOR SHUTTING DOWN THEIR STORES !
They are NOT afraid of the Coronavirus entering their stores and businesses, they are afraid of the corrupt politician's threats towards their businesses & stores.
I REFUSED TO SHUT DOWN MY SMALL BUSINESS and I keep REFUSING to SHUT DOWN MY BUSINESS BECAUSE I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE POLITICIANS and I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE CORONAVIRUS. The Coronavirus is no more dangerous than the flu.
The solution to the U.S.A. debt, money problem and Coronavirus deception is in my message here:
Many evil politicians are trying to make the '666 mark of the beast' digital money slavery system a world-wide law !
Be careful when taking advice from people pushing Silver or Gold as a safe investment. They often use circular reasoning.
I been waiting for Jeremiah Babe's channel to respond to my messages of historical evidence about Silver & Gold problems. I wanted him to watch the video called,
      'THE MONEY MASTERS' .
The corrupted politicians have attacked us with the Coronavirus deception, attacked us with shutting down many businesses & companies and are now planning on attacking us with food shortages and violence.
THE SOLUTION TO THE U.S.A. DEBT & COVID-19 FEAR BASED SCAM IS IN MY MESSAGE HERE:
      Watch the video called
'THE MONEY MASTERS' by Bill Still.
Then also watch the video called 'THE SECRET OF OZ' by Bill Still.
Then you will know what action we must take when organized !
Give me thoughts about the two videos after you watch them.
I know what will completely get rid of the U.S.A. debt, but many of us have to demand this from the politicians (our public servants).
If the politicians won't listen then the military has the right to defend the U.S.A. against "all threats, foreign and DOMESTIC" !
      * Please watch the 2 videos I recommended to you first, then we will talk.
⚠Maybe we should STOP focusing so much on non-essential distractions and START focusing on who controls the money system.⚠
THE LOSS OF CONFIDENCE IN THE U.S.A. DOLLAR CAUSES VALUE LOSS IN THE U.S.A. DOLLAR !
People, please stop talking negative about the U.S.A. dollar.
Yes, most of us agree that the dollar would be better if the privately owned Federal Reserve business would be replaced with Congress taking back their Constitutional right to print the dollar again as they did before the year 1913.
      * Please watch the video documentary called, 'THE MONEY MASTERS' by Bill Still.
The U.S. dollar currency has value in most countries on this earth because modern day technology has made it almost impossible to counterfeit. Gold and Silver can be easily counterfeited !
It costs many thousands of dollars to own a machine that accurately tests Gold and Silver for counterfeits.
      * I personally own a little Gold and Silver as a novelty.
By you and others criticizing the U.S.A. dollar pushes us faster towards a One World Order cashless digital currency money slavery system !
Please research past history from many hundreds of years ago on how Gold and Silver was made scarce by corrupt politicians.
When Gold & Silver is made scarce it causes many, many problems.
Send all the corrupt politicians that got the U.S.A in debt to communist China to have them pay off the debt in the China slave labor prisons !
      * President Trump can create an Executive Order to wipe out the U.S.A. debt.
Then allow Congress their Constitutional right to print non-debt based money again as they did before the year 1913.
The words 'FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE' will then be replaced with the words 'UNITED STATES NOTE' back on our cash.
If Congress does not do this soon we are going to be in a lot of trouble ! !
Why isn't President Trump taking action by implementing this ?
This would truly help "make America great again!"
I and many other American's are not afraid of the corrupt Federal Reserve bank. "We The People" are the government. The U.S. Constitution clearly explains this! The politicians are our public servants. WE SHOULD NEVER BE AFRAID TO FIGHT FOR THE TRUTH ! ! !
Watch the historical video documentary called
'THE SECRET OF OZ' by Bill Still.
It explains that Gold and Silver have been made scarce by banks that resulted in depressions and many other serious problems. This fact has happened often in many countries.
Most people need to fine tune their critical thinking skills and research abilities.
~DNA ALTERING VACCINES & THE COMING CONTROLLED MONEY SLAVERY SYSTEM~
LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY TO WHAT Jeremiah Babe said over 5 weeks ago on his TH-cam channel .....
He said, "The prices of GOLD and SILVER are manipulated !"
Please research past history from many hundreds of years ago on how Gold and Silver was made scarce by corrupt politicians.
When Gold & Silver is made scarce it causes many, many problems.
*Now, I want you all to think carefully about the logical conclusion here.
The evil elitist that manipulate the prices of Gold & Silver can make a new law that says you can't "buy or sell" with Gold, Silver or Cash.
Their new form of "money" will be a computer chip in your "right hand or forehead" that can be scanned just like your bank debit cards at all stores.
How many of you have 7 years of food stored up in your houses or in your apartments or on your property ?
Why would anybody invest or put their trust in Gold & Silver that is manipulated by very evil people ?
Question, how many of you will be willing to trade your guns and ammo in for food and medicines?
How many are going to let themselves and their family members go hungry to the point of starvation by NOT accepting the new 666 "beast" money system ?
How many of you will allow yourselves or family members suffer with an injury because you refuse to have the injury treated at your local walk-in clinic or hospital that only accepts a computer chip in the "right hand or forehead" ?
"Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood."
      ~HOLY BIBLE, Psalms 94:20, 21

@@unitedstatesirie7431 It is true that leftist want to eliminate paper currency. They want complete access to every transaction you make, and to know how much your worth. It's all about more and more control over the people they rule over. They want to eliminate a free society. Control of money is how it gets done. Long ago I heard a natural doctor say that cancer rates skyrocketed after vaccination began. I personally know a man who went blind immediately(within less than 24 hours) after getting the "harmless" flu shot. My Dad got his last flu shot when he was in his early 20's. After receiving the flu shot he got sicker than he had ever been in his life. He was bed ridden for two weeks. The next year when his company came around to give out free flu shots, he told them never again! He said, if I'm going to get the flu, I'll get it naturally not injected into me! We never get flu shots in my family, and none of us hardly get sick during cold and flu season. But other friends of mine that do get flu shots every year get sick with flu. So it obviously doesn't work!

Earlier this year I had the chance to obtain a mint condition FEG high power with no wear, it's from 1990 timeframe. It will be staying in my collection.

@@nutnfancy I fell in love with the hipower at first sight, but the price at my LGS was out of reach at the time. I cross shopped it with the beretta 92 and the CZ75B. The beretta was twice the price of the CZ and I didn't like the slide safety. For $350 the CZ was a no brainier but the hipower really feels good in the hand. Now that it is out production I wish I would have picked it when I had a chance.

If you get a good shooter I'd grab one at that price for sure. They're creeping up a bit, I'd put my max at about 2/3 of what another model of an HP would be, at least if I were lookin' for the authentic or clone variations. It's a deep rabbit hole with belgian production, those portuguese ones, the MK stars, etc. If you can sate your hunger with the FEG then I'm jealous! I asked around and the only FEG I could find was about $650. I wonder what the next giant surplus haul will bring.... I always miss out on these!

Having had more than a couple of HPs some were left stock and others had the magazine disconnect removed. On those if your trigger return rerset is sluggish because of eliminating the spring in the disconnect, you can get a heavier trigger spring aftermarket from B&H or Cylinder &Slide. Good shooting.

I've had mine for 7 or 8 years, and still feel no need to upgrade to a real CZ. Unless I happen upon one at a steal of a price. Compliments ! Another outstanding presentation ! Having had some Hi Powers and a FEG during decades of buying, selling, trading, and giving and receiving gifts, would humbly offer some information. Dont let that FEG get away it works. One I had was a commercial new in the box imported in 1998. Accepted aftermarket Cylinder & Slide upgrade parts, (and B&H Springs offers additional lines too including Arcus clones). FEG was the manufacturer of the Israeli Karem guns. The FEG I had was defective, the trigger pin would walk out to the left Importer KBI dishonestly claimed the trigger spring holds it in place installing another that but the problem persisted. My gunsmith diagnosed an oversized hole in the frame, maybe a soft spot in the steel, and fabricated a one of a kind part to remedy the issue. As far as Hi Powers, the Mark III "Made in Belgium Assembled in Portugal" stamped are the last version and built to be .40 S&W caliber with beefed up frames also used on 9mm guns and proprietary .40 caliber heavy duty slides. Rugged. Would be a good choice for the Nutinfancy Project armory. I have 2 at this time. Paid $1000 last year for the second one. A cool WW2 FN version made for the villains under the occupation passed through my hands but I never fired it, it seemed fragile due to age and extensive use by the sheriff's deputy from whom I acquired it and I'll bet he had bad guy notches on it. Commercial HP s from the 1970s I once owned were most elegant and I regret not hanging on to those. The Belgian original magazines take 13 rounds. WW2 Candian copies made by Inglis sometimes take 14. MecGar makes 13 shot oem s and the 15 capacity in your gun, by opening up the flares at bottom of the tube body, installing a different spring, and shortening and hollowing out the top of the follower for the spring to rise inside it. Open up a 13 and a 15 and you will see what I am describing. Double check me but I think the late Steve Camp in his book "HiPowers and Handguns" noted that the followers in those 15 shot magazines could sometimes dislodge from the spring because the long retaining extensions were eliminated to make space for the 2 extra rounds, and could jam inside the magazine tube causing a stoppage. For self defense he recommended the 13 shot oem. As well British doctrine calls for loading up only 12 cartridges on deployment. Looking forward to your next installation.

When I was a poor new father back in the 1980s, I ran across a brand new FEG PJK-9HP, almost identical to what you show in the video. I had long coveted a Browning Hi Power (still do) but even then a Browning was out of reach. New, the FEG was $199. I absolutely love this pistol, and after all these years my delight has not diminished. It is almost as accurate as my Gold Cup, even with the tiny sights and awful trigger. The safety catch is also tiny, gritty, and not that easy to operate if you're in a hurry. The sights and the safety are my only real criticisms, since I'm able to shoot it well even with the nasty trigger. I only recently became aware that Browning made 10 round magazines with a spring that ejects the empty mag when you press the slide release button; the magazine safety would otherwise require two hands to extract the empty magazine. I love this pistol, will probably go to my grave having never owned a Browning, and I guess that will be just fine.

When I was in Afghanistan I bumped into a Romanian soldier that had a Hi-Power on his hip. It was the first and only one I've ever seen. Battling the language barrier I tried to ask him how he liked it. His response seemed that he absolutely hated the thing and pointed at my M9, signaling that he'd rather have one of those instead. I thought that was an interesting take on it. Since then I figured the Hi-Power is more of a second kind of cool handgun.

A lot of it has to do with age. Canada still uses the Hi-Power and they’ve been complaining about them for decades now because they’ve had to resort to rearsenaling and maintaining pistols that have been in inventory since the 1940’s. Combine military use and wear over the course of multiple decades and almost anything new would be considered worlds better in comparison. Many of the current complaints about Beretta M9’s in US service are because they’re going past 25 years of age and are worn out compared to a brand new Sig M17/M18.

    • @chzzyg2698
      @chzzyg2698 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Verdha603 My impression seven years ago was that even though the M9's were old, most guys didn't like them because they were more weight on their kit, and they didn't want the responsibility of possibly losing them. However, handguns as old as the Hi-Power would likely be something to gripe about. I'd still take a surplus M9 any day though. Everything on them is replaceable. I can't wait for the government to finally put them up for sale. I'll snatch any old beat up M9 in a second. More for nostalgia sake, but also because I love Beretta's. :D

J&G Sales had surplus Argentine FM M90s for like $300 about 10 years ago. My buddy and I both got one, they came in the original boxes, and mine had never been fired, his was EC. Put a Hogue grip on it and good to go. I did have to fix a stove piping problem (poorly made extractor), but after the fix it has been totally solid, very reliable. And very enjoyable to shoot. If you don't mind the machine marks and the painted finish, the FM is an economic alternative to high Hi-Power prices.
As for the quality of a S&W 59 vs. CZ 75, I would give the nod to the S&W. I'm not talking about accuracy, or even reliability, just the quality of the machining and finish. I've had many of the S&W Gen IIs and Gen IIIs, and have a newish 75-B, and the Smith guns are beautifully made, while the CZ is not so refined. Not as rough as the FM M90, but more utilitarian than the S&Ws.
All three of these, Hi-P, 59 and 75, are wonderful soft-shooting platforms that have interesting histories. Can't say that about modern plastic pistols....

If memory serves I believe it was a Browning licensed copy made on Browning machinery at the time. Like all brownies it has an atrocious trigger until you remove the magazine safety once you remove the mag safety it is excellent as well as they're very accurate. The P9Ms never saw service, neither in the Hungarian Armed Forces, nor the Police. These were made in the 1970s, most probably for export, when the service pistols were PA63s. The P9RC, P9R, and P9RK, which were designed in the 1980s, the ones using the S&W locking mechanism, saw service from the 1990, up till now. They are gradually replacing them with CZ P09s now, so maybe the surplus will find itt way to the States.

It’s fun and much simpler than bluing and looks really cool, very military like. Will turn slightly green over time. My surplus HiPower shoots like a dream, of course it has no magazine disconnect in it and I polished all the internal contact points and added a Cylinder and Slide sear. Please do a video on a Browning(commercial) or Fabrique Natiinale(military/police). The groups will tighten up significantly. It wasn’t the right hand of the free world for nothing.

The original extractors break easily, had to replace two before putting a original Hi Power one and it's been running ever since. Also the sear had to be recut because of it's soft metal. I ended up replacing it with a original Hi Power part also. If you plan on putting a lot of rounds through it. replace the recoil spring, extractor and sear with original BP Hi Power parts and it will run and run.

But those old WW2 magazines with the little hook catch on the bottom worked perfectly. I would suspect your FEG is a pretty good clone. Reliable, usable at 30 feet, but don't expect it to hit someone running at 50 yards. If they stand still for you and you have a brace, maybe. In the 30s reliability was everything. Love the layout on them but an extended beaver tail is a must for me - I tend to get a lot of hammer bite or just slide bite with the non-bite hammers. I’ve got normal hands and every time I pick one up it’s always got a small-ish feel despite being a “duty pistol.” Hard gun for me to grip in a hurry then shoot comfortably. Despite my whining I’ll still own a Novak FBI spec’d one for its significance.

Brand new Charles Daly High Powers were amazing. Mine had a slight blem for $250.00. Kick myself every day for not buying multiples. Runs as good as my Belgian HP.
