Also, if you listen really closely, you can hear his GF in the mic, since she IS the microphone.

Before he could finish his work (and part of the reason the mod was cancelled) he passed away in his sleep. The lyrics are a callout to him (herself being the example for him in the song) telling him not to fall asleep (which is when he passed away) and to stay awake long enough to see how far his work has brought the community and revolutionized FNF modding as a whole. Once you get into the deeper lore of it, the meaning it has becomes much more than what you may have originally seen.
