Youre probably god himself because you explain everything so freakin good !!!! Please keep this up were so blessed for your explanations much love thank you!!
Hello, Joe. I have a question and perhaps you may be able to give me some advice... As you mentioned, cars are becoming more advanced. More features, more technology, and more computers. When I worked for an automotive shop for a little while it seemed like almost anything that went wrong we could order the part and fix it in house. However, that was not the case when it came to the computers in the car. I had to drive the car to some local mom and pop speciality service shop that worked on the computers in the car (I suppose because its highly technical and hard to learn and perhaps many automotive shops don't have the capability to work on the processors and chips or some of the modules?). Anyhow, as more and more computing/computers get added to newer vehicles do you know what year of make would be a good year to say "okay this year a ton of new complex computing hit the car market and is on board in vehicles; therefore, after this year its a good idea for me to purchase a vehicle with a warranty that covers computers in the car". Also, what are the industry trends (if you happen to know) when it comes to hardware manufactures across the different car manufacturing lines? Will most vehicles be having the same or mostly similar computer hardware? What will that do for maintenance on older vehicles with older computer hardware when it comes to supply of mechanics trained to work on what may one day soon be called something to the nature of 1st generation car computer hardware? Will that cause any complications in your opinion with finding a mechanic and warranties and if so what year would you say next generation hardware hit the market if it has already and therefore you may want to avoid purchasing a car prior to "x year"?
Basically to try to answer your question all cars in the last 20 years have had computers controlling them recently there could be 20 modules and over 30 sensors so the demand for people who know electronics is tremendous the equipment that you need to diagnose these cars are very costly and it can only be invested if you think you're going to make a lot of car repairs most private places do not have an alignment machine because there are new cars out there and they don't need alignment why spend $100,000 on such a machine I'm getting parts for cars you have to find a good distributor depending if you got to go aftermarket or OEM that's just by experience whatever gives you the best parts like we use Wagner brakes and we use champion batteries so they've been very successful for us another thing is when you do order parts take a picture of the old part and send it to the distributor so he doesn't make any mistakes
Regardless of the year you should always get a warranty on a vehicle there is no specific year but obviously now even the Toyota Camrys which was so dependable have many electronic problems so always get a warranty
Nice explanation thanks for sharing ur knowledge
Thank you for your response
