The longest 2-handed sword blade is in tier 4, combined with the tier 5 fian guard and tier 5 southern handle you can basically create the dragonslayer, i did, it's fun to oneshot even lords with a sword on foot.
I found that two handed maces usually have a weight problem, always look at the damage/weight of the head, a same damage but lower weight mace head will hit harder due to the increased speed.
I usually craft some huge 150+ length axe with heavy berdice head to be using on horseback. It's slower than glaive but when used against tightly packed infantry lines chops multiple heads per swing.
@@eazymerkedwhen you are on horseback it is more about timing so the speeds rarely end up mattering If you fight on foot they are useless For me I usually use the an axe like the guy mentioned with a bow and 2 quivers and I can usually take on parties of about 100 by my self
one of the best weapon for foot combat i ever crafted was a small fast two handed axe. With some skill in two haded this thing is one shot militia, twoshots top troops, w/o even giving them a chance to strike u back. Espesially handy for lvl up athletics
Worth noting that if the average tier of the parts is 4.5 and you have four parts to it you can make a legendary reforged weapon and if (like the two handed mace) you can only use three parts you can get the mastercrafted reforge. Great vid mate!

Yeah they deffo are but they do sell for a lot less than the 2H swords unless you craft like masterwork large bag of javelins then you’ve hit the jackpot 😂
@@ChristopherLeviHopkinsThe2nd two hand swords are actually pretty fast to unlock. Just look for pommels/blades that create onehanded-twohanded weapons, they unlock a lot more and sell for more as well. Just as two handed polearms ones you unlock the short shaft from tier 3 that creates onehanded-twohanded-thrown polearms unlock everything after extremely fast and sell for a lot considering how few materials they use. Smithing is too busted though, since it nullifies the whole economy system, it makes for a boring game fast. Since you don't care about troops wages, get the best gear for you and all companions, can buy/upgrade anything. I'm trying to find a balance where I use it still to get best gear for me, but not rely on it for denars, to completely negate everything else.
I was looking to craft a variety of weapons for my companions and Family and this popped up. Current build of the game (finding information that is not a year old is hard)and exactly what I wanted!
Thank you for posting this video!!!!! I was looking recently for some good weapons to craft and i wasn't able to find anything good. Keep up the good work and your gides are always really helpful!!!
You want more swing speed on some of these and lower the weight on others like the javelin. There is no point to a sword or axe if it is slow and gets blocked, same reason people prefer the falx head over the glave on polearms. The jereed head for a javelin is overkill even with medicore throwing skills so you can shave of a a few pounds and be faster with a different head. With some of these changes you loose the big numbers, like on the polearm but it is still a 1 hit kill.
Interesting that your playstyle is so different than mine. But im just realizing all the weird things I do. I never use daggers or maces I just feel they have too many drawbacks, namely the tiny reach that makes them prettymuch useless in horseback duels. I'm all about the 2h axes, polearms that swing, 2h swords and bows which of course dont apply in a forging video. I forget the name but basically a falx blade on a pole (so exactly like a Rhompaia but faster and not using that specific head) is one of the premiere cavalry weapons of the game, you can kill up to 4 guys with a wide swing. Javelins and throwing axes I prefer to give to the AI companions. For in town outfits I also cover everyone in stacks of throwing knives lmao. Also I go for high swing speed and reach, typically >100 reach and >90 swing speed are minimums for me. with polearms getting an exception and axes getting a pass at 87. It's really weird how there's always one handle in every group that somehow swings really fast for its length. Never understood that, even if im happy it exists. Also how two identical blades will have one that swings like 33% faster. And yes, being able to smith even mid tier javelins makes you into one of the greatest economic powers on the planet. Bannerlord smithing is an adventure, that's for sure. Idk sorry for the rambling that doesnt really contribute anything but it was fun to reflect on my own habits.
Hahaha ramble away bro that’s the best thing about smithing you can create so many different combinations it’s really good just wish they let you craft bows, arrows, shields and armour too 🤌
@@eazymerked I would love halberd heads too, but yeah smithing is pretty cool so far. Expanding it would be great, im sure there are mods that already do.
the king of persia could be a lil better with different guard i got it to 162 dmg without bonus from legendary or masterwork craft and its absolutely nuts charged up mounted kill deals like 500 dmg and sells for around 20-30k :) nice video really helpfull
I'm sorry but what? My 2h sword i made with the Wide Fullerton broad two hander blade, etched highland guard, bolted southern grip two handed, and the bronze banded pommel is significantly better than the one displayed. It also sells for 50k+
Smithing xp is gained from crafting difficult weapons so just make the most difficult weapon you can craft as many as possible then smelt them all back into metals and just repeat

Why would you shorten the length of the Polearm? The whole reason of using Polearms is to have a lot of range, unless you're unmounted.
For the thrust speed/swing speed 😅
