It is one of the most illogical exams of the one of the most illogical democratic systems o the world. There are other bureaucracies also which select the top minds without encouraging its youth to sit idle in their 20s to just prepare for an exam. The youth is meant to be explored, lived, loved and laughed, not only sit at a table and read, although a mix of that is also good. But still, India would keep glamourising things that should be reformed instead.
Bhai mat kar prepare... Explore kar life ko.... Govt ne force thodi na Kiya h tereko...
Sit idle ? Seriously ? UPSC isn't just a exam, its a life changing process. It transforms you. It will introduce you, to a part of you, that you thought never existed.Preparing for any other exam will not transform anyone to the extent that UPSC does. Just everything changes drastically in a very positive manner. Your mindset , outlook , vision , knowledge level , communication , vocabulary , reading speed, reading habit , writing skills , balanced and rational thinking , personality , daily routine habits , mindset , , social values , ethics etc which is far better than the things you are talking about.
Just being successful in a career and managing to have a good life partner and family is not the sole purpose of life. But what exactly is the meaning of life can be well understood when you start spending time with yourself (Rigorous thinking and analysis) which we fail to manage while setting our other basic goals in life. But UPSC preparation actually helps you to meet and ‘interact with your inner self’. And that's why IT'S WORTH IT !

Was proud when he mentioned Sir Ajit Doval. My parents had the pleasure of seeing him in Kerala once, they did not speak to him or anything, but they knew he was a strong officer by the way he keeping law and order in Thalessery and other parts. UPSC is worth it, my friend. When you do UPSC, you're not doing it only for yourself; but for your parents, your ill-wishers, the downtrodden, the poor, and most importantly India. Never give up!

Sab bolraha hai ki ham 100%ban ka rahunga to sala sab IAS he banjaya ga Kya. mera bichar sa aru dusra bahut naukari hai use ma try kro MBA karlo kisi acha college sa , CA karo aur bahut sari naukariya hai . IAs ka tayari tahi karo jab Dil jaha dusra ka vato me aaka apna jindagi kharab mat karo .ham bahut sare upsc ka student dekha hai jisna apne 8sal 9 sal tayari me lava diya lakin clear nahi kat paya kyu ki IAS ki vacancy bahut kam number ma nikalta hai aur kamsa ka kam 10 lakh sa jada ko form bharta hai lakin sir 500 seat hota hai . Ya bat sa aap khud soch sakta hoki IAS ka chakar me kitna student apne life kharab Kar raha hai.jay 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏 apka k bichar kya hai replye jarur dena

Appreciate your way of communicating patriotism but I have another perspective which I think will help Youth. Of course nothing can beat the power what civil services brings but there are other factors in one's life as well luckily I've faced it just in my 20s and I'm in mid 20s now.
The Challenges one will face is unforeseeable. You need income, you need family, you need peace of mind, you need financial freedom to try something new (sadly being a civil servant fetches you miniscule legally)
Moreover just being a civil servant is not a gate pass to meet PM, CM. You need to be lucky as well in your postings (it is not always guaranteed) Ex: You may be posted to remote African country as an IFS officer where you might have had dreams of representing India in world forums.
The underlying fact I feel is different from what this video says. You cannot get all the things what sir is mentioning above, it depends. This is not for people who likes the power but want to enjoy it, absolutely no. Coz when the time hits you'll have to decide your family vs the nation's work. It is also not for them who dream of BMW or Audi, coz legally you will not earn that much (if you do it'll be after 30 years of experience in the field)
Last point I'd like to put what sir has mentioned in this video that if you crack this exam you are accepted by the society as a leader, sadly,it is true ! Isn't it high time that we recognise leaders for their qualities instead! going forward? And not by judging their capacity to pass an exam?
I'd also like unacademy to put up videos on who shouldn't try for UPSC a weighted average of PROs and CONs can help students decide in a much practical way.
