Very informative and I agree there looks to be a lot of interesting sites around the area of Grand Marais. The campground looks very well kept. I lived in Michigan twice, beautiful country plus in the summer there is so many fruit and vegetable farms where you can pick the produce yourself.
Thanks for this nice video of Grand Marais Jerry! We just went to the UP and while we covered a lot of ground we did not have time to get everywhere. I straight up fell in love with Munising but it looks like this might be a nice location as well.
The pickle barrel was a summer home to a famous Chicago tribune cartoonist. His cartoon in the tribune was called the “teeny weenies”. The pickle barrel was originally on Sable lake and was moved into town.
Went there end of August 2017. Gitchie Gumee museum was closed. Went into the only "have all" store and walked out with two other people who also wanted fishing licenses but decided the ridiculously exorbitant price for tourists wasn't worth it. No hotel/motel or rental cabins. Obviously they don't want tourists! Don't waste gas going there.
I went to the bottom of the log slide a few years ago - coming back up is quite the workout! Thanks for the great video!
