quick notes about the Arc Thrower that wasnt mentioned. 1. You dont need to charge Thrower fully. You can fire it at around 60-75% charge with no downside. 2. When firing it matters if you ADS down or not. When there are enemies on you, fire from the hip as thats the most reliable way to kill them. If you want to be accurate at a longer range, ADS. 3. Aiming slightly above the enemies helps with hitting shots. 4. As for heavy enemies like the Charger and Bile Titans, you can kill them relatively fast as well, not as fast as the Railgun but still decently fast. A Charger dies to around 9-10 shots and Bile Titan should be around 15 as long as you hit them in the same spot.
@@EnergZAXThe first shot being fully charged or not doesn’t do anything, or at the least that was my experience while testing it. Also it can fire fast, but not 30% charge fast, if it did, you’d be able to fire it 3 times in a second.

They only mentioned the kills to mention how good the weapon is, the Arc Thrower is seriously really good but gets put off by people because of its tendency to teamkill. A lot of people just wanna run Infront of you like moths when they see the funny lightning strikes and then bitch at you that you TK them. Situational awareness is a good skill to have :)
@@Jazzyo7 the most dangerous weapons are the most fun haha. same went for the first game =P i would love to see the gun from the 1st that pierces through targets that thing was awesome
As an ARC main since release I aprove this video. And as a solo diver the best strat for bile titans are these democracy made runners. Take the stamina buff and when you see a titan run a lap and dont forget to zig zag. Once you learn how to book it you can lead a swarm of titans away then shake em and circle around back to your obj.
yes. stamina is king. had a match yesterday after the patch were my teammates died again and again and I just did the objectives running around barely shooting a bug while they were spectating
I've been using the defender smg and jetpack with the arc thrower, the smg lets you be mobile while dealing with the hunters and stalkers that can swarm you, the jetpack allows you to get a height elevation to deal with terrain and bodies getting in the way of your arc blasts. You really can appreciate the range of the weapon when you get a little elevation.
@@Alphadog2064 You use it to blind fire at stalkers and hunters that are swarming you, once you get enough distance you swap to the arc thrower. The defender is good. 45 rounds that do 70 damage per, extremely accurate with long range, basically a one handed assault rifle. You need to lean into the benefits of the SMG like blind firing and being able to use one handed. Carry that briefcase, try out a ballistic shield with it vs bots.
If I see my teammates running at least 2 rail guns, I use the arc thrower as a small mob cleaner to help out. I'm usually at the top of the kills after each mission too.
My helldiver teammates are just moths under that armor, I can be aiming nowhere near someone and then their neurons activate when they see the funny lightning and run full speed towards the enemies in front of me and then try and bitch when I TK them lol. People just have to learn the hard way, just like when placing down turrets.
I’ve yet to kill a teammate with the arc thrower and I love playing the shock trooper and controlling those crowds. That trigger finger needs discipline, get better.
I managed to get through a Helldive mission without any stratagems (because of a bug that said I had stratagems picked when I didn't), using only a shield backpack from an ally. There is plenty of room for experimentation.
It's weird. Sometimes I'll have games where my drone does 0 DMG to me and others it's always cutting me in half. It's definitely killed thousands of bugs already for me so it's worth the risk imo. It really shines when you're being overrun and it's VERY good at hitting weakspots
The people who like the Arc Thrower seem to love it but everytime I have used it, it has felt underwhelming at delivering democracy. The breaker shot gun is better at clearing wave and the railgun is better at clearing armor and as long as you use resupply efficiently and explore side objectives you should always find enough ammo to never run low.
The problem in my oppinion is that strategem squad weapons differ in power potential so greatly highly depending the situation. That in itself limits their use due to the player willingness to put up with its negatives (even to adapt in a way). Playing with a full squad the arc gun can be usefull, true. IF the player using it is mindfull about it and the others give him the "space" to actually use it effectively. So you have to play accordingly - put up with its negatives. Guns like the railgun are so easy to use and powerfull enough that it can do the job good enough in most if not any situation. That "good enough" to deal with basically everything makes it popular thus gets perceived as unilaterly powerful. The breaker for example can lit up those rows of enemies shown in the video (arc-thrower) as fast maybe faster (yes even the hive guards) - so the Breaker is more than just good enough. Yes you need ammo. Especially the fact that the game provides weakspots in a environment were you get swarmed instantaneous all the time, forcing you to be on the move constantly, thus rarely able to actually engage those points even as a group makes things hard maybe impossible to use. Thats why certain strategems and weapons are used/perceived as the actually only anwers to threats in the current state of the game. Ask how many people can fire reliably in the mouth of a titan before getting vaporized? So why bother in the first palce if youre able to just kill it with laser orbitals, 500kg bombs or orbital railguns. But i am with you to find ways to use other stuff then the always mentioned items. Still.... as cool as the arc thrower is - its range and sluggish handling is something you need to find a way around to use it to potential. I dont see to many people (out of boredom maybe) put up with it if there are weapons in the game doing the same thing as good or better/different than the arc gun. Same for the flamethrower (ammo/magazine size set aside). The "Manpad Laser" is also underused because why should you use it? All depending on the difficulty and restrictions coming with it of course.
me and my friends all run with arc throwers, energy shields, shield generators & tesla towers. calling ourselves ghost busters as we hum the theme, haha really makes impossible mode a breeze 😂
Chargers can be side stepped easily if there are no mobs with him. Arc throwers really great for those little mobs. After his crew is dead, it's easy pickings for the solo charger.
Rail gun the charger front legs, 2 shots max soon as you see the orange flesh. Switch to your primary weapon and finish the charger instant. Instead 10 shots with arc thrower
10 shots may seem like too many, but what people don’t realize is that those shots are arcing off the charger each time and splashing all of the fodder around it. And if some fodder manages to get too close, switch to targeting them and the charger will catch the splash instead. Ten shots of wave clear with a bonus heavy kill at the end is tremendous.
I think the problem is the Arc Thrower has no visual effect on the enemies. It feels like it's doing almost nothing. I bet most people only use it for one game, not enough time to realize how po0werful it is.
It fires quickly and shreds everything around the target while putting damage on the target itself. More shots to kill, but the TTK isn’t that much different and it has built-in wave clear to boot.
that the gun doesnt need ammo or being reloaded makes it easily a top tier weapon. only real downside i noticed, sometimes the arc gets blocked by grass or something. or you shoot an enemy like 2m away and there is no arc coming out of the gun. some wierd bugs. but even then my go to weapon, its so strong.
Im down to fight, I'm glad it was nerfed. The game was meant for people who wanted to use different skill sets. Not metas and shit. Now your all terrible as us Side note, chargers could def use a 1 second slow down when they turn that dump truck ass.
If you have the choice, you always want to compliment your teams loadout, even tho i don´t like the Anemic NAture of the Arc Thrower, it has it´s uses. You don´t want to waste strong weapons ammo on small bugs, but being able to hit multiple is another story, and bypassing armor is HUGE in any game.
Anemic? I can tear through a Devastator patrol with that thing. Two or three shots wipes out all of the fodder and the Devs get really bad aim from being hit repeatedly. Berserkers have some kind of odd resistance to it (or they just have really high HP) and Hulks are… Hulks. But otherwise the Arc Thrower treats me well in bot missions when aimed properly.
Too late. All of the metaslaves are frantically scrambling for another option now. They’ll probably take this as their new champion until Arrowhead nerfs it as well.
People are finally starting to see the arc throwers magnificence. You love to see it. Rail gun is awesome for killing bug armoured targets, but if everyone brings one then the enemies are able to swarm and overrun the squad. Arc thrower can handle an entire bug breach solo and looks cool doing it.
6:06 Doesn't actually really help too much with the puking mobs, they still all still slow you if they miss and they tend to break your shield instantly if they hit, best just to dodge them at all costs regardless. Also praying the Flamethrower receives a buff to actually MELT armor off of enemies, would actually make it a lot more fun and useful to use.
While your shield is active it protects you from slow effects like those of Bile Titan spew attacks and Pouncers melee attacks. Yes, you still need to dodge, you are not invincible. But it definitely helps you to stay mobile and healthy in hot situations.
Im not a fan of the arc thrower. I keep getting teamkilled by it chaining from enemies to me. I only use the nade launcher as its a bug hole closer and annihilates groups. I use my 500k bomb and orbital rail cannon for the big bads. In fact i throw my 500k at my feet when using personal shield which will take the hit from bomb no problem. Do this in a large group and theyre done. Its a beast setup just use the hooded helmet with lightweight armor for max mobility and use shield as armour. Im simply too quick for the enemies to get me.
it's good to spread some knowledge about how we can use weapons in different scenarios once they patch the game. It will probably be hard for players, breaking away from their bread&butter comfort loadouts. I hope we get more like this once new weapons drop!
I love old mate's energy, but this is pure shit. False knowledge. Arc thrower is not viable in higher difficulties. Especially bugs. Take one into a lvl 5 mission and solo a charger... absolute garbage. Half the footage here is killing enemies that are already injured.
@@RoniChard2010 not entirely true. Yes, it's prime use is not to kill heavies like chargers, it's to thin out the hordes of smaller enemies, with an option to slowly damage titans and chargers if necessary. When you learn how to use it (use half-chargers and aim properly) it becomes an absolute beast with infinite ammo.
@squeezyjibbs6643 I agree on the ammo part, and it seems that around the time of my little melt-down, the Arc-thrower has been improved. I swear it now has twice the range and doesn't crack teammates as much. It's good and fun, but defo no S-tier... was basing my comment of launch experiences. I do think a team using multiple would be fun, but I've only seen that once in public games. Edit: another thing is the sheer amount of these type of vids pushing this as top tier while using videos of them killing already injured enemies to make it look like they are 1-shotting. The viability ranges based on how tight your team is and what other gear you're using. 2x rail-gunners would practically carry any combo. However, I do want to play a 4P game where we all use Rovers and Arcs, and move as a single unit to see what kind of results we get. If 3-4 people were zapping a titan together, I believe it would go down rather quickly... even more so now that they've made their sweet spot smaller.
PC divers be cautious with my following tip , sorry ya have so many bugs. PS5 players you should be good so here goes. Tip for you. If you collect the super samples or any samples, head straight to the extraction and hold down on the dpad then use the right stick to select samples and release the down button. You will drop the samples and you don't have to worry about dropping them in a bad spot. Don't know the input for PC sorry.
PC player here. Got no issues with the Arc Thrower outside of it occasionally having no hit reg. But then again, hit reg for this game seems to be a little borked overall, so it’s just normal HD2 for me.
Yea, good fun. Seeing 2 people pick an Arc thrower and all 3 picking a Guard dog rover I dropped my orbital rail gun to get a shield just to avoid getting zapped by my own teammates half the time.
@@RoniChard2010 You are the only one with that issue. This isn't me just talking, myself and a few other randoms I have played with in lvl 7 to 9 have already proven your assumption wrong. 2 guys packing Arc Throwers while 2 others pack rail guns pretty much made it trivial.

Seems like you want to come p with any excuse to argue a point. If you seriously think that all it takes for an arc thrower to be good is 3 or 2 other players covering you then its a skill issue on your end or you have just been unfortunate enough to have encountered randoms using the arc thrower who don't know what they were doing. Personally every time I have use the arc thrower I have had no issues learning how to position myself so that my shots don't leap towards my squad mates and if they are directly in front of me or too close to a single enemy I just release my charge into a wall or the sky and just switch to the my primary weapon to help.

@@RoniChard2010 If you want to play solo that is your prerogative good on you but not everyone has to follow a meta build to prove they can helldive solo and there have already been a few people out there who already helldive solo without using the rail gun. The way you go on about is no different then that fool on steam calling for people to be kicked from games for not following a specific build because of their elitist attitude. I didn't know I had to treat this game as a job, thanks for reminding me how not to have fun.
I’m just sitting here today smiling as the railgun meta dissolves along with the people who relied on it. They’re claiming 7+ isn’t doable without their crutches anymore, yet videos like this have been out since before the patch. Guess it just sucks to suck.
nah, railgun still has a place. I prefer to use the arc thrower, but id definitely rather have a teammate with a railgun to take the big chunks of health off of the bile titans and hulks i face than have to take them down myself every time.
@@Alphadog2064 oh I’m not saying the railgun is _useless._ No matter what the metaslaves say, it’s still a very good support weapon. It’s just no longer the rambo kit that many have relied on to dunk on 7-9 difficulty prior to the patch, and that is a GOOD thing. The primary complaints I’ve seen thus far boil down into two categories: 1) “I can’t solo Helldive anymore, game is ruined.” 2) “My team can’t handle 7-9 anymore, game is ruined.” This video right here proves that both statements are symptoms of the railgun having been a crutch for under-skilled players to run through end-game content with relative ease. My comment is just indicating that I’m very happy to see that the complaints are largely baseless.
Because the arc thrower murders your entire team if you're looking at those reaction or if they're behind you or if they're off to the side or the other side. You cannot be near your teammates whatsoever It's worse than the Rover... Also railgun use it in unsafe mode still the same power. They only nerfed safe mode
it doesnt have range thats the issue . we can snipe a rocket devastator 100 meters away before he shoot us from the same distance. the other issue is that players get salty if they die by chain reaction and lot of times they prevent you from firing because if you fire the lightning charge will reach them. so its good for solo or a team who know not to stand in the way
There are so many great support weapons in this game that can absolutely have its own place in a squad even on hell dive, but everybody has zoned in so hard on the rail guns just for the fact that they are tightened and charger killers that it causes everybody to end up with one in a group and then there's nobody able to deal with large hordes to the point where they're depending entirely on there primary and stratagems which are inferior compared to some of these more powerful crowd controlling special weapons
Will be honest, I called these videos pointless in a previous video but I was wrong, If it wasn't for this video I would have never tried the arch thrower...
really glad the railgun got nuked from orbit, it was making every other weapon in the game trivialized. though i will admit it could have been rebalanced better to make it have much less ammo, use up a lot of ammo to charge up, or becoming difficult to aim when at high charge. maybe the devs will rebalance it that way in the future to make it decent but not meta in the future.
Currently playing on helldive difficulty and played with random squad so arc thrower is a no go for me, team mate keep blocking my target and ended up getting killed by me with this setup so went back with rail gun for precise shot.
Good choice. It's because the clowns spreading the "good word" about the Arc-thrower have no idea what they're talking about. 😂 most bugs are already injured or being sprayed in the clips. It's making my fucking blood boil man. Lol
This could be a solo weapon. My experience is that the largest threat on higher difficulties is Helldivers with lack of proper awareness that kills and gets killed a lot. Diver that in an attempt to save you from a situation that doesn't need any savings will shoot in your direction with such a weapon or throw a grenade or strategem which guarantees your death. That's why if you play with randoms shield and railgun is a must and strategems with low friendly fire rate like orbital strike and laser. Your primary needs to be something that saves. your and others life aka you can shoot in friendly direction. Its not main source of DMG its survivability tool. I have 1 friendly fire kill per maybe 10+ games and 0 deaths. No enemy is a problem it's always friendly fire which is your no. 1 tier S/GOAT enemy. This game is not about killings but about surviving and doing mission goals. Many fight outside of mission areas which is a waste of time and resources and gets them killed. Knowing when to engage or disengage, tactically withdraw, flank, stealth or simply run for your life is the ultimate game skill.
Okay 1. How do you know what percentage charge you are at, i hear everyone going "oh you can shoot at 70% charge" How the hell do you even measure that i have yet to find any bars or numbers to tell me the charge my only metric is the gun giving you a sort of ball at the end 2. Only reason i ever sleep on the arc thrower is it is way too easy to accidently arc your buddies. outside that its a great weapon.
I'm just here to advocate the use of jet pack on bugs instead of shield gen. First off, its way more fun, for some, that will be enough. Second, it gives you a ton of extra mobility. This is useful for the obvious, getting around the map, but it also is incredibly helpful for keeping you alive. You can dodge chargers, bile titan spit, bile spewer spit, all things that can kill you if you aren't perfectly on your game, even if you get a dodge off because of the lack of I frames. The jet pack is both faster, and a bigger dodge, making it far better for avoiding those things. Not to mention it gets you out of dodge against the dreaded hunter swarms too, which are lethal even to someone with a shield. Against 20 hunters the shield is only going to get you an extra second or so, which ya, sometimes is enough time to shoot your way out, but frequently isn't. Third, the shield really got oversold in this video. Ya, it'll save you from a charger, they basically can't one shot you if you have a shield active. But if you get hit by a full blast from a bile spewer? Or even half to 3/4 of a blast from a titan? That shield isn't doing shit, you're still dead. And as I already mentioned, it does very little against swarms. The shield is far more useful against bots, where its going to consistently save you from stray rockets. Terminids are much more predictable, so its better to have an intentional dodge that will save you from more stuff than a passive protection that saves you from less. This has been my ted talk. And if you're still in doubt, refer back to point one.
I feel like the real strength of the shield gen when fighting bugs is the slow and stagger immunity. Id fully agree with you if the jet pack didn’t have such a harsh cool down compared to the shield going back up after being depleted. If you use the shield gen for mobility (which i know, sounds wrong) you can get almost out of every situation no matter the amount of bugs around you, or that at the least has been my experience.
At the momet arc thrower is causing crashes in the game as per the devs. Arc thrower is my fav gun but can use it as i use it the game choose to crash we im about to extract
Dude i hate what they did to the rail gun.. i dont get nerfing it to this degree, it feels worthless now.. we need something to help us fight against heavy armor and honestly at high difficulties rail gun was useful and strong yes but still had a learning curve and its not good with crowd control at all.. we always ran at least one or 2 in a team and now we are having a hard time figuring out what to bring to deal with heavies effectively. Ive been trying other stuff and its been a bitch today lol
The scorcher is not needed for anything, only if you want to use it. To deal with heavy enemies, the most sure thing is the orbital rail canon, the railgun, the autocannon, the recoilles, the AMR, the 500kg eagle, the orbital laser, the 110mm eagle, etc etc. you can use almost any weapon you want.
As a old Vet of Hd1, arc thrower is one of the worst weapon to use due to unpredictable pattern on shot. Literally it can kill teammates. The impact on medium and heavy medium does very little damage. Arc Thrower required charging and the player movement is like a few baby step movements. While enemies are heading toward the gamer real quick. Both HD1 and HD2 required speed. Having anything impending speed is a negative for the mission. In HD1, Sickle, Justice, Paragon, Railgun, and Camper are the most often use primary weapon. Sometime Tanto and Constitution are rare to see on top level player.
Well luckily this is HD2 where the arc thrower doesn't care about armour or anything and hits for the same damage regardless. Not to mention it is surprisingly easy to not team kill as the shot pattern is much more predictable in this game. Only time I have really team killed with it is when me, my target and my teammate are all standing in a straight line. And even then if there is another enemy closer it would nearly always prefer to arc to that instead.
Arc thrower wasnt buffed, its the same piece of scrap metal as it was on day one. And using railgun isnt fun anymore? Because why? Ah yeah, whiners cant handle unsafe mode...
@@InsightfulGaming This 👆 I use it on high difficulty all the time and I’m always the one with the least amount of team kills. You just need good positioning and awareness.
i would disagree. Not only i got hit with the bug (badum tss) where my primary dissapears when i equip the arc thrower, the weapon itself seemed to have trouble hitting anything at close, if something is right up close at you, it simply misses. Somehow it struggles to chain link even the smallest bugs. Sometimes it simply doesnt oneshot the smallest of bugs somehow? And ofc its useless against chargers and titans. So why would you take it over a railgun? Its struggles against hordes as chainlink is rather random and inconsistent, and its useless against heavy units.
Generally if you watch your angles a bit it is surprisingly easy to not teamkill. It doesn't arc backwards, and can't seem to arc more than 90 degrees from where it hits. I have only had it team kill if me, the enemy and my teammate are in a straight line. Basically thought unless a teammate is hugging an enemy it doesn't team kill often.
Nah, i wasted 100s of hours and had my favourutes which are now utterly useless. Arc thrower feels horrible to use and kills your team mates! Im not gonna be forced to use a trash teir weapon because the devs are tone deaf! Ganes trash now, just uninstall and play something else! This game will be dead in a week after the nerf
@311Thanatos it's not mate. I tried it last night and me and my friend fired countless shots into a chargers front leg and the armour wouldn't break. It was hard enough as it was when 25 chargers attack you in a squad of 2 because we don't have any friends who own the game and randoms are a liability! Now it's just a unfun slog of running away from dozens of chargers that nothing can touch anynore. Orbitals will deal with 1 but then take 10 minutes to recharge so what to do about the other 24 on you and thats on challenging difficulty! Never mind the actual hard difficulties! The game just isn't fun now as all the remaining guns feel awful to use and I used them all leading upto level 20 and I'm now level 50 and have everything unlocked and not a single good weapon in the bunch! Why would we choose to play a game the devs have deliberately made not fun! I don't play games to not enjoy myself and call me whatever names you like but that's how thousands of players who don't have dedicated squads they can coordinate with feel and if we all go (and we are) the game will die. This was a bad move from the devs and the things they said to their customers on reddit were vile! If my staff spoke to a customer like that I'd fire them instantly!
Keep using Railguns. The arc thrower is trash. If you're looking to clear out smaller enemies it's the breaker all the way. If you're dealing with heavies/armored enemies it's either orbitals or railgun. If you need to clear out bug nests it's grenade launcher. Why use a weapon that's less effective and has a higher chance of killing teammates? Kill count does not matter. Nobody cares how many kills you got. If you're using infinite ammo as an excuse to use arc thrower then your issue is getting into unnecessary fights instead of running and losing aggro. The point of every mission is to do the main/secondary objectives while grabbing loot like samples and not trying to fight every enemy patrol you run across while getting breaches/bot drops. It's as simple as bringing the right tool for the right job. Doing eradicate missions? Orbitals and sentries. Blitz? Orbitals and grenade launcher. Every other mission? Mix it up. Grenade launchers and railguns. You know what's better than killing bugs and bots? Doing it effectively. 💪
I just don't get why you'd need a swarm clearing weapon like machine gun, arc thrower etc when you have the breaker that destroys everything and have countless air strikes and sentries that do that job better. Rail gun just too good to not use at this point specially when running helldiver difficulty. Hopefully other weapons get some AP so we can have variety.
@@InsightfulGaming in lvl 7 random matchmake missions I would bring arc thrower with air strike and orbital laser/orbital rail canon along with the breaker for situations that need a burst of dps. The Arc thrower is basically the primary and I end up going to nests and other objectives solo since I can and the arc thrower basically lets me solo without the need of worrying about ammo
Imo, the issue with that is tgat it can limit people and what they feel comfortable using in game. I'd love to see the weapons in the game, weapon stratagem included, get buffed to be closer to the strength of the Breaker and Railgun. Not really damage buffs, for a few guns yes, but mainly increase to armor pen(why aren't there primaries with heavy armor pen?), more ammo, adding attachments like silencers and etc. Every gun should have a purpose and you should have more competitive options.
The reason I would want the arc thrower over the breaker and air strikes is that it is unlimited and can work on everything since it doesn't care about armour. And honestly if you are in a 4 person group you don't need 4 railguns. Having 1 or 2 people that can deal with hoards without using resources helps a lot. Also it makes patrols calling in reinforcements very rare since it will typically kill all the ones that can in 1 or 2 shots at most.
@@Alastair_Ulven I would use rover if I am using railgun and use shield if I equipped arc thrower. But the biggest thing abt air strikes is that it can destroy things extremely well and quickly meanwhile arcthrower needs quite a bit of time to kill some trash mobs. Using cluster with arc is kinda a waste since arc can clear p well already by itself
Against robots yes against bugs it’s godlike. I have over 100 level 9 helldives completed with it and can wholeheartedly say that it’s monstrous in the hands of an experienced user in the right scenario.

@@shrek8052 "I don't care about how many kills you have because I have a huge ego and wanna start shit for no reason because I'm toxic." Fixed it for you.
I just played with someone who was rocking the arc thrower on lvl 8. He put in work. Got a lot of kills
Yeah when you figure out how to use it and not team kill every other shot its a top tier weapon. i hit a 600 kill game with it the other day
As an ARC main since release I aprove this video.
@@falkiiii030 Hell yeah brother! Thems what I like to call democracy laps!
I cant get behind the defender personally, I've found it just has abysmal ttk. Any tips on use that might help me out?
Also no mention how arc thrower one shot teammates through textures if they have no shield.
Oh yes, it hurts. Gotta be careful how you aim 😂
If you played more than 5 mintes with this weapon, just don't aim where the team is
My helldiver teammates are just moths under that armor, I can be aiming nowhere near someone and then their neurons activate when they see the funny lightning and run full speed towards the enemies in front of me and then try and bitch when I TK them lol. People just have to learn the hard way, just like when placing down turrets.
Best part of the weapon
I’ve yet to kill a teammate with the arc thrower and I love playing the shock trooper and controlling those crowds. That trigger finger needs discipline, get better.
I managed to get through a Helldive mission without any stratagems (because of a bug that said I had stratagems picked when I didn't), using only a shield backpack from an ally. There is plenty of room for experimentation.
I am willing to bet you moved like a ghost and chose very few fights.
I was getting kicked from games for using the Arc-thrower 🤦
They will get it one day
Once you learn how to use the arc thrower, you are gonna love it.
Well said
ngl, my fave was the guard rover till i tried shild pack. my drone have killed me more then the bugs
All depending on the difficulty and restrictions coming with it of course.
me and my friends all run with arc throwers, energy shields, shield generators & tesla towers.
calling ourselves ghost busters as we hum the theme, haha
really makes impossible mode a breeze 😂
Sameee
That must be soo fun
@ipo7532 it is!
especially with the new warbonds blitzer gun, for even better crowd control 😊
bruh, i jsut realized the arc thrower is fucking wild. 10 shots to drop a charger. Its wild, it chews threw so many bugs. I love it
Chargers can be side stepped easily if there are no mobs with him.
Watching you shoot a mid sized bug 3 times and it is still coming at you is not convincing
All good 🙏
It fires quickly and shreds everything around the target while putting damage on the target itself. More shots to kill, but the TTK isn’t that much different and it has built-in wave clear to boot.
Nah I used it in tier 9 it’s not good lol
Just tried out the arc thrower indeed slaps pretty hard.
Really hype to trying it weapon is gaining steam in thr community
They just buffed the flamethrower shits nutty now. I was just about to buy the arc thrower also
Arc Thrower, Flame Thrower, and Lascannon all slap now.
that the gun doesnt need ammo or being reloaded makes it easily a top tier weapon. only real downside i noticed, sometimes the arc gets blocked by grass or something. or you shoot an enemy like 2m away and there is no arc coming out of the gun. some wierd bugs. but even then my go to weapon, its so strong.
Im down to fight, I'm glad it was nerfed. The game was meant for people who wanted to use different skill sets. Not metas and shit. Now your all terrible as us
Side note, chargers could def use a 1 second slow down when they turn that dump truck ass.
I can’t agree more. I am glad you brought it up!
Shhhhhhhhhhh
do not let em know about this gun
let them gun reviewers have their lime light
and us game enjoyed just enjoy the actual hidden carry XD
Makes no mention about how the arc throwers favorite snack is teamates 👀
Bump up to the auto cannon so you can snipe spore towers from across the map as well.
The Scorcher can 4 shot spore towers from across the map. I do it all the time.
it's good to spread some knowledge about how we can use weapons in different scenarios once they patch the game.
PC input is X

@@RoniChard2010 You are the only one with that issue. This isn't me just talking, myself and a few other randoms I have played with in lvl 7 to 9 have already proven your assumption wrong. 2 guys packing Arc Throwers while 2 others pack rail guns pretty much made it trivial.

@@smokey_mcbong STTTOOOOOPP!! MY BRAIN IS HURTING! Your logic is beyond god level.
The primary complaints I’ve seen thus far boil down into two categories:
1) “I can’t solo Helldive anymore, game is ruined.”
2) “My team can’t handle 7-9 anymore, game is ruined.”
This video right here proves that both statements are symptoms of the railgun having been a crutch for under-skilled players to run through end-game content with relative ease.
I've been using the arc thrower for a while now and I fear that it's going to start getting more popular so I won't be the unique snowflake
it doesnt have range thats the issue . we can snipe a rocket devastator 100 meters away before he shoot us from the same distance.
the other issue is that players get salty if they die by chain reaction and lot of times they prevent you from firing because if you fire the lightning charge will reach them. so its good for solo or a team who know not to stand in the way
There are so many great support weapons in this game that can absolutely have its own place in a squad even on hell dive, but everybody has zoned in so hard on the rail guns just for the fact that they are tightened and charger killers that it causes everybody to end up with one in a group and then there's nobody able to deal with large hordes to the point where they're depending entirely on there primary and stratagems which are inferior compared to some of these more powerful crowd controlling special weapons
Well said
Will be honest, I called these videos pointless in a previous video but I was wrong, If it wasn't for this video I would have never tried the arch thrower...
Thank you so much for kind words.
lmao DONT RUN IN FRONT OF AN ARCH THORWER!
One bile titan is easy to deal. But tons of ads is what killing you. Its were the arc thrower shine. Can take both EZ!!
Aim high with ARC thrower even when up hill / down hill.
really glad the railgun got nuked from orbit, it was making every other weapon in the game trivialized. though i will admit it could have been rebalanced better to make it have much less ammo, use up a lot of ammo to charge up, or becoming difficult to aim when at high charge. maybe the devs will rebalance it that way in the future to make it decent but not meta in the future.
Lol
Aim above enemies to maximise its range don’t want to be aiming directly on them
This could be a solo weapon.
Okay 1. How do you know what percentage charge you are at, i hear everyone going "oh you can shoot at 70% charge" How the hell do you even measure that i have yet to find any bars or numbers to tell me the charge my only metric is the gun giving you a sort of ball at the end
2. Only reason i ever sleep on the arc thrower is it is way too easy to accidently arc your buddies. outside that its a great weapon.
Keep it up!!
Thank you
Thanks ill try it out 👍
I'm just here to advocate the use of jet pack on bugs instead of shield gen.
Railgun breaker full auto pistol guard rover
4 arc throwers is hilarious fun
At the momet arc thrower is causing crashes in the game as per the devs. Arc thrower is my fav gun but can use it as i use it the game choose to crash we im about to extract
Hope they fix it soon ;D
The railgun is actual shit now.
The current unsafe is weaker than the vanilla safe.
we all saw it coming :)
the ark thrower is good but not against chargers and bile titans at hell drive you get plus 8 of thoes enemies
It's the adds that kill you, which arc thrower is great for. Big guys can be dealt with stratagems :)
Ok. Well where’s your gameplay with the arc thrower against the Automatons?
That is fair. I should have included it in here.
Ive been trying other stuff and its been a bitch today lol
big tip theres a method to rapid fire the arc thrower
Please share with rest of us :)
I have 2 shot a bile titan with arc thrower probably due to ps5 host
O ok so this is for people that have a squad, lemme see myself out lol
More builds coming soon for solo peeps :)
Top tier until your team is in front of you, then they are dead and you are a liability...
Lol
Arc Thrower feels bad to use, though
what about nuke (500kg)?
getting tired hearing you explaining how good the nerf of the railgun/breaker is
what weapon should you use when you don't have the scorcher yet? also, how do you deal with bile titans, hulks, tanks?
The scorcher is not needed for anything, only if you want to use it. To deal with heavy enemies, the most sure thing is the orbital rail canon, the railgun, the autocannon, the recoilles, the AMR, the 500kg eagle, the orbital laser, the 110mm eagle, etc etc. you can use almost any weapon you want.
For 1. You don’t know how to use it at all in this video. It’s a machine gunt that 4 shots a charger
Ok thanks. You should make a video on it!
Bruh railgun is way much freaking better than arc thrower…no offense, but railgun is bettr
Arc thrower wasnt buffed, its the same piece of scrap metal as it was on day one. And using railgun isnt fun anymore? Because why? Ah yeah, whiners cant handle unsafe mode...
meta is boring
Super duper boring
Just use railgun, cluster bombs, railcannon
Meh... I am bored of the meta
Just like the energy drone is bugged by not needing to reload on backpack, the Arc Thrower having infinity ammo probably are too.

Rail gun you kill way faster somtimes you need 3 or 4 shots not a fan of the ark 🤷♂️
What r u on ? I love the raíl gun .. best weapon hands down.😮

Here because of the nerf
Yes its decent but youll end up wiping your whole team. I think its better for solo
I disagree, it is really good weapon, just requires higher care
@@InsightfulGaming This 👆
I use it on high difficulty all the time and I’m always the one with the least amount of team kills. You just need good positioning and awareness.
But the arc thrower is so boring 🥱
Is this an ai voice
Yes sir
i would disagree.
Iwpuld run this weapon but it team kills alot
Oh ye, it hurts. Gotta be careful
Js dont shoot near teammates. You have other guns switch when your team is in the way
@@Alastair_Ulven I second this, sometimes it even visually arcs towards teammates without doing any damage.
Railgun on unsafe mode is the same
@311Thanatos it's not mate.
Get good?
Dont encourage this weapon please, too many team kills..
It's a great must have in a group. How else people will learn how to use it in the right manner.
Tried the arc last night, never again. Couldnt even take down a charger
:)
Just hit it with the pew-pew magic 10 times, throw in an 'ez clap,' and watch the greatness unfold, especially on difficulty 8+.
Sorry dude it is bad against automaton
It’s ass against anything
I just don't get why you'd need a swarm clearing weapon like machine gun, arc thrower etc when you have the breaker that destroys everything and have countless air strikes and sentries that do that job better. Rail gun just too good to not use at this point specially when running helldiver difficulty. Hopefully other weapons get some AP so we can have variety.
Keep using what you like bro. You deserve the right, you paid for the game.
Arc thrower is bad. Sorry you are wrong.
I'm gonna use it anyways. BZZT.
All good, you should use what you like :)
It's bad in HD1 because it's unpredictable. It can kill teammates.
Against robots yes against bugs it’s godlike. I have over 100 level 9 helldives completed with it and can wholeheartedly say that it’s monstrous in the hands of an experienced user in the right scenario. (not point blank range and with no teammates within a 20deg arc in front of you) I have gotten over 1000 kills with it in a single mission on multiple occasions.
Ngl you are wrong you js use the railgun as a crutch gang
This AI voice sounds so odd... Honestly it's super distracting from the video, especially when it tries to pronounce "bile titan"
Sure is
arc thrower? lolololol ok
Why is it funny?
AI voice, ewww
I appreciate you! :)
