On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Compared to every other 4th or 5th gen fighter in the US navy and Air Force, the F/A-18 is the least aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion. Even compare to the Sukhoi 27/30/33/34/35 or MiG 29/35 those are much more aesthetically pleasing to my eyes… but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

One of the sexiest things about the hornet his how low maintenance it is compared to other aircraft.
You could make that same comparison to any relationship; the most attractive people are the ones who require the least maintenance.

We went to the Warhawk museum in Nampa, Idaho today. I can't wait for them to get their new project finished. It's a Grumman F9F Panther. They already have an F-86, MiG-17, MiG-21, F-104, and my favorite, a straight wing F-84.

Idk i've always thought the Legacy Hornet is a fantastic looking plane. The v-tail, the curves on the leading-edge extensions, the sturdy wings, the sharp lines along its spine extending towards the tail, it just looks great . . . I get that the Viper's massive air intake is good for performance but as far as looks are concerned it's derpy as hell.

Definitely an excellent choice as a first high-fidelity aircraft. About the only real frustration to complain about is the radar being a pain in azimuth control at times. Everything else is great.

Great vid. In the Vietnam era there was an interesting aircraft called the Cessna A-37 Dragonfly. Today a similar role, (economical but deadly), seems to be filled by a little known aircraft, the AT-802U Sky Warden. I'd love to see this aircraft in after the merge air to air with more advanced aircraft.

I always wished we had a full fidelity F/A-18A version for stuff like this I wish we had an "A" version of a lot of Aircraft for Instance a full fidelity F-15A, F-4A, F-5A or F-16A would be awesome the flaws in the early production models is what makes it fun. For instance take the F-14A with the engine problems it makes for a fun challenge using it. On top of all this playing older scenarios is more immersive with the older weapons systems.

Rafale for me, that think looks like sex on wings. Look up the flight demonstrations :-) It can launch and land on a carrier and has great range/multi role capabilities. Just costs an arm and a leg lol.

Homey had a close to/if not a max load out which did everything that was asked of it. Superb aircraft, even better with the upgraded helmet and avs suite.

the hornet is (in my opinion) the moist beautiful looking aircraft ever built I love flying it in DCS and soon to be a AVN Tech for them in the Canadian Armed Forces growing up around them was just awesome and for you to call it not beautiful my god where are your standards (JK) but seriously loved the video I personally would love to see more cinematics like you did with all the planes in one big formation flying behind the SAM site and with the SAM site moving just perfect a great way to show everything off once again your spoiling g us with your eye candy (would love to see you make a movie with it one day or a short film) amazing job keep it up cant wait to see future videos.
Hmm... the F/A-18 Hornet. Kind of like the Navy's Swiss Army Knife of aircraft. Fighter? Check! Bomber? Check! Strike Mission? Check! Recon? Wait - remove the nose gun and mount ATARS. Night Fighter? Check!! The only role it can't really perform that well is direct interception.

I have the F/A-18 module. It's fun learning it, but I do wish it was the Super Hornet. I'm aware of the Super Hornet mods, but it would be great to have a legit version.

I've always felt F-18 looked 'uninspiring'. But it sounds sexy! Coolest looking fighters imo were (not necessarily in order) F14 with wings swept back, F16, F15. I love Corvette cars, but people lament the last couple generations don't have 'afterburner' taillights. They've always been inspired by fighter aircraft, the quad tailights in the recent past reminded me of the quad B1 Bomber afterburners, the new C7&C8s are reminiscent of F22s. Still afterburners, just not round anymore! Sorry bout the departure!😁
F18 is a beast of an airplane. Cost wise capability wise safety wise and all the roles it can provide. I think it does everything well and not just enough
And if memory serves is the only jet airplane with an air to air kill and finish the strike mission assign to it.

I found the f16 more intuitive than the f18 but that could be because the f16 has fewer systems.
Hornet sexy AF in my humble opinion.
I think it's easy to fall into the polarization trap when it comes to fighter jets. Some are faster, prettier etc. than others but we must remember that for most fighter jets we are talking about different degrees of awesome. The teen series of american fighter jets(F14,15,16,18) are all 9+. For me the 16 is a 10 but if any of them asked I would drop my pants so fast they would leave burn marks.

As an avid F/A-18C enjoyer, and after DCS experience: there is nothing sexuer than the Hornet.
Started DCS with Flankers and Fulcrums in my mind, tried the Hornet, my first FF module, and I cant look back.

The Hornet is sexy! It's not as exotic as the Raptor, but it is a great looking aircraft. There is beauty in effectiveness.

Even though the Sam site used everything it could to escape, with his sheer overwhelming intensity, the versatile one hit it's target while eliminating the Sam site.
