You think some home builder can build at a fraction of the Linn system a tube amplifier to drive this speakers? I think it can. I listened to the speakers in Eindhoven where i live close to. The sound is so sweet. You can't imagine. My budget is too far off. You think this kind of speakers will come on the second hand market for an affordable price like 3000 next years?
Hello Michael, can i ask you something out of your experience, on a 40sqm room which one would you recommend Kef Ref 3, Ref 5 or even blade 2 ? Greetings George
Well Hugh you have an eye for the most expensive stands don't you!! That is a Naim Fraim which is £860 for the Base and then £ 649 per shelf. As an example a 4 tier is then £ 2807. The shelves are available with different heights at the same price. Also available in black or cherry. The one on display has been traded in. It is one shelf of 260mm height and then 4 of £ 130mm. That totals £4105, as it has various obvious marks I'm looking for £950 if you're interested? best, Michael
@@michaelmcclean5169 you are right Michael I do have expensive tastes. I own a new Linn Klimax dsm hub with 350 Klimax speakers with latest upgrades,Linn 352 centre channel ,530 series speakers as rears, 242 speakers as 7.1 set up , two Linn 5140 subs and akurate 6 channel exact box . Also a reavon x200 4kblu ray player . I am in Australia, wonder how much to ship here
As impressive as the system is, how’s the low end? I hate to sound like an ugly American but I can’t imagine those drivers pushing out anything below 500 hz.
Hi Matt, it's not just Americans who ask about that! 4 of 6.5" drivers have about 20% more surface area than a single 12", HOWEVER, their inherent improved stiffness will give less cone break-up that causes distortions and inaccuracies. While designers have to make compromises on materials and costs the 4 smaller cone layout is not a compromise on the depth of bass, rather a clever feature of their 'apparent point source' design. If you do need more bass output for a larger room size then the bigger Blades cater for that. Also the amount of air you can move depends on the possible excursion of the drive units and here the work Kef have done on roll surrounds, particularly explained when they introduced the KC62 sub, shows that the drive unit diameter is only one part of the overall package of important parameters. Great video Michael, I’ve just upgraded from KEF R900’s to the Blade2’s and they are amazing. I’m running a PS Audio S300 to power the Blades, I’m very happy with the sound to my ears.
They’re incredible speakers. Simply stunning soundstage. Unless you’ve heard them in person you have no idea.
I love the blue color 😍
Love to dream !! Great to hear about all the high end stuff…
