Jev man a tip for you, Stop Using Sareena, she only works well for grounded combos and since a lot of sub zeros combos are in the air it’s useless.
Just because everyone else is using sareena, doesn’t mean she works well with sub zero.
I highly recommend Stryker, he offers even stronger mix so you can double down on the mix and also strykers grenades keep you safe.

Since jev starts alot of his combos with the overhead, sareena can’t assist him in starting that combo.
That’s where Stryker comes in way more handy, because he can offer double mix + Keep him safe after the overhead incase jev messes up.
Also sareena is not a cameo zoner, she is very predictable when called in.
A good Kameo zoner is a character that can be called in while your main character zones too, like Kano, sector or Stryker.

I’ve played all the game modes. KOTH is my favorite because it makes me feel better about myself to see other people lose as well 😂. It’s like I’m not the only one that sucks.

I remember my first KOTH experience and is was funny as hell. it was MK11 and there was a guy that did nothing but zone everybody (forget the character) he was on a 13 win streak, everyone was spamming 0 respect after all his matches lol I jump in with Noob and slaughter the dude with my bread and butter teleport kombos. I used random characters against the rest of the lobby, but everytime that zonning dude came up, I'd go right back to Noob for that bread and butter and host was messaging me "thanks for putting that dude in his place bro" it was my first time playing KOTH in any MK and I was nervous AF! But that experience made me fall in love with it lol

One of the first hurdles I had to get over when learning fighting games was controling my nerves. Once I learned how to control my nerves the process of getting better was smoother. Now, 2 years later, I'm absolutely dominating in Kombat League. I also learned a lot from watching pros and even facing high level players. I freakin' 2-0'd Diff while he was streaming.
Well how do you lose the online nerves/anxiety issue and get comfortable? Genuine question, I'm new to fighting games (SF6 and soon will have MK1 too).

Found myself doing the exact same when Lupo was playing in the AT&T Tekken tournament. Fighting games are wild and I don't even play them 😂
To prove Jev’s point on the damage side of things, just look at when any other character gets to a 10 hit combo as compared to Sub. The difference in some cases is insane
You should try the kung lao assist for sub. His low hat throw recharges super quick and is +2 on block at close range so you can call it to extend your pressure a little and make you safe if they block the first hit of the overhead.
More importantly from neutral though you can delay the hat so it hits as you approach and it turns the overhead into a straight 50/50

Heres a tip, some of those baraka combos where you poke him afterwards, try grabbing him instead. it’ll be a reversal and you can either throw him in the corner and pressure him, or throw him away from you so you can try to bait him with ice clone. Also try using jax or stryker. Stryker will offer an even harder mixup, or jax will not only give you extra health, but he can extend your air combos pretty far.
Baraka’s chip damage is scarier than Sub Zero’s entire kit
Sub is an actual joke right now. You literally get punished off of EVERYTHING

also use the triangle square during neautral u can clone out of the negative square as well as freeze them if it confirms or slide if they block it to go low

Jev i played some Sub before the games release and I HIGHLY recommend Sonya as a kameo. For your gamestyle she can turn your low - low and mid - low mixups can turn into full combos with her kameo help. I would suggest at least trying it. one combo you could try is b34, kameo, f12 slide.

you should definitely try frost as a cameo, the potential with a small combo into her freeze, it only be a forward + the cameo button is too easy to use and ends up hitting most of the time. can be used to get so many freeze combo set ups for you

If Baraka players are spamming the back3,1 launcher. You can duck the 3rd hit after the mid-low starter for a full combo punish. Hope this help some people that don't have much exp fighting Baraka yet
Yes!!! A lot of characters safe launching strings like that usually end in a high and are free punishes if ducked

The launcher after the kick on baraka is a high, there's enough of a gap to neutral duck the launcher part after blocking the kick which makes it ULTRA punishable

Loving the MK1 vids! You should put a controller input overlay in your vids too so we can see what buttons you're pressing! ♥
Pro tip for sub zero players. By the time you start using your B2 in higher levels of play you'll obviously be blocked. To defend against this, cancel your B2 into either Clone Punch your BF2, your slide BF3, or your Kameo. Preferably one with a low option, for example Stryker's low baton Nuetral R1, or Frost's slidr freeze FR1.
This will guarantee you at least a 50-50 situation, or a safety net if you get blocked. And it can somewhat condition your opponent.
Would love to see you play smoke. You have the ability to remember all the moves and I think it’d be endless for you with him. Great job either way

There’s something relaxing about Jevs anger
Jev in the corner you can ice clone instead of doing the slide ender right away
it will let you do a few extra hits and then end with the usual slide
YOU CAN ALWAYS DO THE AIR COMBO TWICE the jump square triangle that bounces lets you confirm it again and u still end the combo the same way with the 1 2 slide
U can only hit them with back triangle once to do the air combo twice though
Jev if you try to armor wake up with a special move and your opponent hits you twice before the move comes out, then you get punished. (Barakas low starter hits twice, so when you tried to armor wake up it doesnt work). Most characters have some kind of double hitting move to counter wake-ups
Proud of you Jev. I think we all get nerves when we hop into a new fighting game. but the more you play they should start to go away. Or get easier to handle.

your good just learn when you have the heath lead just zone so your opponent don't read your style in one round and if your safe strings and mix getting blocked you can try grabbing you didn't grab once, corner pressor is good but don't throw unsafe string just hoping to hit by luck , keep going your getting better

idk if you cut out the rest but in this entire video i saw you grab once, your character having low damage combos is fine but you gotta make up for it with grabs, after you land a poke it’s still your turn because you recover faster, 8/10 times they are gonna block again so throw them and get your free 12%
Barakas combo does more on block than subs combo when it lands 💀

Fun thing, even if you block baraka/cyrax you lose over 10% hp to chip damage alone. its gapless too so once it starts then your just out of luck with that 110ish hp

Jev is so right when it comes to sub... He lands a perfect combo, multiple strings and does less damage than ONE string combo of Baraka and Cyrax.. Sub needs a major damage buff if you ask me💁🏼♂️. Still love the vids tho jev keep it up🔥❤️

You and I are the same when it comes to playing fighting games online jev. The nerves, I actually enjoy playing it but I get nervous playing it, especially KL obviously. I usually do really good until somebody cheeses me and it pisses me off and I just start convincing myself not to play it cus it ain't worth the stress. I got to warrior level and just stopped there cus I knew the cheese and annoyance would only grow from there.
i wish jev wouldn't get nervous. If he wouldnt be so nervous and had more confidence, I believe he'd be a absolute menace on this game.

It always makes me feel better to see someone else get so worked up over ranked but trust me, the more you play the more your nerves settle. Just know and accept that you're going to get your ass kicked sometimes lol.
The best way to deal with the nerves is too keep playing. You need to keep going until you're comfortable with the pressure
Jev needs to change kameos, sareena doesnt add anything to his bnb combo, doesnt make block strings safe, all she does is add some zoning which people already found counters to.
