For the ute it doesn’t matter as it will be FBT exempt anyway irrespective of the special incentive program currently running as the currently rules will apply
I for the most part have the byd shark picked out as my next work vehicle, however if the gwm can undercut them meaningfully I would go the gwm. I wouldn’t want to pay more than 70k for the gwm.
With 100kms of electric range, if you charge at home, you could never need to pay for fuel ever again. With average savings of $3k a year, that's $30k in 10 years, plus save the world at same time 😊
For the double cab, 80k BUT I'm rural WA Kalgoorlie to be precise, our power supply is marginal at best. Could be interesting to see how the grid handles it. But hybrid would work better for us not full electric due to distance. Did you mention what the charge rate is?
Can you tell us them to fit heated seats in the back of the 500. It’s only got cooled seats and that’s what lost the sale for me with the family conference for a new car.
My guess is. gwm might price down or stop selling HEV version of Canon Alpha. And price PHEV version around 65k. Like what they did with canon xsr. They stopped that and sell base model of Alpha for around same price as xsr
Get the Alpha down to under $50k and the Tank 500 down to around $60K and they will sell like hotcakes and outsell most similar vehicles on the market.
One thing that hasn’t been evaluated is the towing capacity and how they tow, it doesn’t matter what price they are if they can’t tow, in relation to the ute what’s its load capacity.
If they bring in the Tank 400 Hi4T and in the mid to high $60’s, it would make my short list for my next car.
Sounds awesome
These will fly off the shelf if they bring it in before the fbt exemption finishes for phevs around March/April 2025!
Agree

If they could keep the alpha in that mid 60k range or lower, id definitely be interested
Plug in hybrids would be awesome. Hope you guys get them.
tank 500 65k, and alpha 70km if price like this, tank will over take toyota in aus market
Tank 500 hi4-T is priced around 69k in Chinese market, so it will be well above 75k here
As stated above, needs to get here before 1 April 25 for a lot of us…

Tell GWM to bring Tank 400!!! and YES phev
I have been waiting for the Tank 400 to come, it would be more sensible to bring in the Tank 400 than Tank 500 Hi-4T, it would be cheaper

They already sell a non plug in hybrid Cannon Alpha for approx $64k, why would the phev be any more expensive than this?
Bigger battery , more electrics involved .

as it gets older, price should go down anyway.plus the MY here has a near 2 years delay than home market.it's 4 years old already

alpha base model is under $50k,500 demo is under 60k

3.5t
3.5 T, but only 530kg payload....makes no sense or useful. Price needs to be on par with BYD shark
Shark has 830kg payload, but limited to 2.5T towing
535kg payload. Who's going to seriously buy that?
I hate GWMs massive chrome badges looks cheap and tacky they need to piss it off.
You need to piss off
