Kato Pacific Community Climate Fund (Kioa Island)

On the first week of August, frontline communities and civil society groups from across the Pacific gathered on Kioa Island to launch the Kato Pacific Community Climate Fund.
Communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis need access to the resources to adapt to current impacts and prepare for future ones. The Kato Pacific Community Climate Fund is the regional finance mechanism set up by communities for communities, ensuring the removal of barriers for vulnerable communities trying to access climate crisis funding.
Building an equitable and resilient future for all means supporting our communities to move forward and leaving fossil fuels behind - fast, fair, forever.
