I'm 61...this song has everything for me having lived and loved all the 60's and 70's sounds. has a touch of funk...a lot of Philly...motown and sooo much soul...got it all ..brilliant x
That instrumental build in the middle is incredible. You don’t hear music with this kind of “patience” much these days, gotta give things space to breathe.
I keep coming back to this amazing tune again, and again, and again 🤣. Pure class! The strings, the bass, the lyrics, the build, the change of tempo, the build again, the outro … it’s a bloody anthem! 😜. I’m amazed nobody has tried sampling it … maybe they think it can’t be topped? 🤔. It makes you glad to be alive! Why do we never get to hear genius like this in the mainstream? 🙄
I can listen to this over and over again, what a band, what a music...as world and music goes down the drain, this kind of music is keeping me sane and alive...thanks brothers! ❤️
Is funny ! I heard this music playing in old navy! Store 😅 and my son of 12 came up to me. Dad this is a great son ! I like it . Open Shazam to see who plays this song ! 😊😅 love it !
I've been following these guys for a dozen or so years and lesser bands would've given up by now. They've gotten better and better and, judging how often they tour and stop in my town, they're one of the hardest working bands out there. Just love these guys.Top track.
So I am all hyped up from the beginning of the song until 3:34. Then I go into black Renaissance me from 3:34 until 5:33. After that I am jumping all over the damn place. Pissed that I can't turn this up loud enough so the entire neighborhood can hear it like Shawshank redemption
To whom it may concern These are words from my past Slow down, don't read too quick Let that good feeling last 'Cause your life, and my life For something more in the world to see If you're reading this it means that, oh I'm still alive And heaven hold the life that you gave me to survive Do you believe me when I say A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins, no no Too many reasons not to stay So I'll be the only one, when it's all said and done down here I will be the last one standing I will be the last one standing Too long I lived in the dark I was searching for the light Too long I lived in the wrong Always wondering what's right But my life and your life Is all the world will know If you found this it means that, oh I'm still alive And heaven hold the love that you gave me to survive Do you believe me when I say A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits, no, no, no Too many reasons not to stay So I'll be the only one when it's all said and done, down here I will be the last one standing I will be the last one standing I will be the last one standing No, I will be the last one standing No, I will be I will be the last man standing The last one standing I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on strong I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on
This is just beautifully taking any human being back to a time when American soul music was the central figure of civic engagement and love binding everyone.
I don’t know Colemine’s recording process, but they absolutely nail the sound of vintage analog recordings. The faint hiss, the slap echo, the traditional arrangements and the “warmth”, it’s all there.
My dad who was born in 1955 was so shocked when he learned this is a modern band playing something so reminiscent of what he heard during his high school and college days. I can't also cannot count how many days this song was on repeat the 1st time I heard it. And still play this album to this day while I work. Really great stuff! Been a fan of this band ever since I heard their song Goliath.
Thinking of my brother Sean in the hospital right now fighting for his life. I got your back Sean no matter what even if I was the last one standing. I love you brother dont leave us!
Somehow this song found me while listening to a local college radio station, and Im thankful because it was the lyrics I needed to hear in that moment of time. Thank you.
Damn this song do something inside of me at the end it left me with this incredible feeling i had as an kid listning the first time to motown tunes much love and soul 🎶🎵🤟☺️❤️
Is there a little melodic callback to Curtis Mayfield's 'Move On Up' in there? Gorgeous, soulful stuff as always Monophonics. Can't wait for the new album.
100% because I heard Kanye West's Touch The Sky and came to this tab to see if somehow I ended up on old soul rather than new lol Def has that sample in there. The horns all day.
I've loved this tune since it's release. It always gets a repeat on my player. Listening again just now after watching the dreadful scenes in Ukraine my heart is broken. This is my anthem for them....
This song is great! But.. I'm looking for a similar song (same rhythm) but with higher pitched man voice, maybe it's monophonics..any help appreciated!

We're happy to hear that, Derek! Thanks for the love!
I'm 40, well said
So agree with you, Derek.
And Northern Soul’s essence too!
KTF (Keep The Faith) Derek! 👊🏽❤️🎯
62 here Derek and yeah! This kinda sound takes me back n keeps me feeling like a youngster. What great music.
They don't make a volume button high enough for this Master piece.

This song is a gem and a movie all in itself.
There's quite a few of these neo soul groups but these guys are the best imo...
💙💙
Love the whole song, but the ending when it goes full blown Curtis Mayfield, I can't help but dance.
A winner never quits and a quitter never wins 🥲💖
This might be the best song of all time.

I stumbled across This song on a Spotify mix. It has absolutely no right being this amazing. I love it so much
Hell yea!
It's that blue-eyed soul. Thick textured, beautifully orchestrated, smooth.
Yes indeed!
The people who gave this a thumbs down, don't taste their food when they eat.
😍
Truth!
Been listening to this on repeat since I found it.
Hell Yea!

Weekly discovery on spotify do be giving me the good stuff

A quitter never wins and winner never quits. I’m struggling with life amongst other things. Don’t want to get into details but I feel this so much.
Years of music listening has refined my taste to this and I have no regrets
To whom it may concern
These are words from my past
Slow down, don't read too quick
Let that good feeling last
'Cause your life, and my life
For something more in the world to see
If you're reading this it means that, oh I'm still alive
And heaven hold the life that you gave me to survive
Do you believe me when I say
A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins, no no
Too many reasons not to stay
So I'll be the only one, when it's all said and done down here
I will be the last one standing
I will be the last one standing
Too long I lived in the dark
I was searching for the light
Too long I lived in the wrong
Always wondering what's right
But my life and your life
Is all the world will know
If you found this it means that, oh I'm still alive
And heaven hold the love that you gave me to survive
Do you believe me when I say
A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits, no, no, no
Too many reasons not to stay
So I'll be the only one when it's all said and done, down here
I will be the last one standing
I will be the last one standing
I will be the last one standing
No, I will be the last one standing
No, I will be
I will be the last man standing
The last one standing
I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on
I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on
I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on strong
I'm keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on, keepin' on and on
Very beautiful song
Can almost smell the 70's high fi electronics simmering into the air again...real vibe.
If this aint my pops pulling up to the projects in Brooklyn in that 79 coupe deville to pick me up as a child 💯 Miss u Pops ❤
