    First time commenting…. I like 95% of your content JP but here’s the issue I have, You talk to your listeners like they know what you know about electronics and the gut workings of the RC-500. Your language is above my head, like for example; I watched your video on using the FS-7 to control the rhythm section……🤦🏽‍♂️….. to this day I can’t make it work and dude I went through that tutorial multiple times thinking I missed something and I didn’t, so is it possible that you accidentally skipped a part that’s valuable to getting this working? I just wondered if you know about the Noise suppressor.

    Great review. Strongly considering getting this as my first two track looper.
    Could you please clarify something to me: If I record a beat on track one (using an acoustic instrument), say just one bar to get a simple rhythm going. And then I set track two to say 4 measures.
    Will track two then have a recording time 4 times as long as track 1?
    Basically I’m in doubt if I can use the measure function based on a recording of an external instrument, and not based on the built in drums or any midi clock?
    Thank you

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey 👋
      So yeah. If you just record a 1 bar on track one, it picks up the BPM off that and then track 2 can be multiples of that length.
      You can pick one up here: geni.us/Bossrc500
      Also, on my website I have a FREE pdf on looping tips. Head to www.johnpaulmusic.co.uk and the link is at the bottom of the page. 👍🏻

    Hello John!!...a question: could my guitar go through the two outputs (one to each Amplifier) and at the time of making the loop, that loop would go out through an amp and the subsequent signal of the guitar would be cut, leaving only the loop sounding in him and continue playing on the other amp?...Thank you!!!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey 👋
      Yes. You would need to route the two outputs to the amps and then have the routing for the loop to the one amp and the routing of the guitar signal going to the other amp.
      You can dictate which output the inputs (guitar) and loops go to which output. 👌

    Love your channel , I ordered an rc500 after watching you use yours.. arrived last nite.. but I have a question , I use output A for the rhythm and output B for guitar. Which works perfectly while recording ... but as soon as it goes to playback mode I lose the ability to designate which output the guitar comes out of .. it just comes out of both A and B... however , I still have control over the rhythm output during playback.. just not guitar.. what am I doing wrong.?

    Great vids! I'm considering the RC-500 as an upgrade to my RC-30.
    Does the RC-500 allow loops recorded in track 2 to be exact multiples of track 1? For instance, could I record a 1 bar phrase in track 1 and then a 4 bar phrase in track 2, without pre determining measure length and using the drum machine? My Ditto X4 did this automatically, it'd be great if this did it too. Thanks!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jon 👋
      Yes it can. You need to be pretty on it as it has a small ‘forgiveness’ window with timing before it thinks you want an extra bar. Other option is you can dictate the bars before hand and this is all done per memory, so you could have different settings per memory if you wanted to.
      The RC-500 is a massive upgrade from the RC-30!

    Thanks a lot for your videos, very helpful. I’m planning to buy one rc-500. But have a quick question before that. Do you know if « inst in B » could be used as a second independant entry for a second instrument ? A bass, an sampler (in mono of course) or whatever…? I fear to face some issues like : poor volume or signal only on one side…. The only missing feature for my need seems to be the lack of an aux input. An A and B independantly useable could help.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jock 👋
      Midi used to be a nightmare and puts a lot of people off as its quite daunting.
      Firstly it depends on how many more midi control buttons you want / need.
      A good start is a Behringer FCB1010 but the problem is its quite dated.
      Have a look at the Harley Benton MP-100 or if you want something amazingly good - look at morningstar.io and the MC3/6 or MC8.

    So, I am having difficulty trying to have two tracks of different numbers of measures play as chorus and verse. For instance, if my verse is four measures long and then I try to record a six measure chorus, the pedal will not allow me to stop the recording if the chorus until 8 measures has passed (perhaps a multiple of the original track?) Anyway, any help will help. Thanks.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay.. so an answer for this is to use two memories and jump between them. In order to do this you need an FS-6 or FS-7 pedal (or equivalent) and you make that dual pedal memory up and memory down.
      Then you store the verse on one memory and then the chorus on a different memory and save them.
      Make sure the stop and play functions are to ‘loop end’ and the when you step up a memory whilst the track is playing then it will seamlessly start playing the other memory. 👍🏻

They barely have enough volume to register - I have to turn the Rythm volume down to about 25 to balance it with my guitar. I want the first track recorded to determine the length of the second track, and I would like to apply that setting globally. It’s maddening trying to start / stop while recording the second track when I’m trying to layer (because it can make my second loop longer than the first, which is a huge problem. Do I need to scrap this RC500 and find a good used RC30 , which was WAY more intuitive by the way.
