    NGO'S, human rights and any citizens love to gaslight to promote,enable & endorse criminality & lawlessness!!!!! We the S.A. taxpayers are not CASH COWS, FOR CRIMINALS.

      Those NGO should have paid to the rescue mission if they cared that much about those criminals. Some community members are angry because they were also benefiting from the illegal miners. They were selling them food at the highest price......
      Lawlessness in this country is getting out of hands. People justify crime all the time. Poverty and unemployment can't justify crime. There are unemployment and poor people who don't commit crime

    the miner died of starvation but the option of coming out was always there so how are saps responsible, its possible that the person was denied exist by others in the mine and he died because of that not because of saps

    That R52 million should pay for this rescue project, these NGOs should also chip in. Taxpayers money should not be used to pay for this criminal activity, we have too many problems in the country that need money.

    I stand to be corrected....if the sister knew that what the brother was doing was a crime and didn't report it. Isn't that a crime as well- according to the law?

    The Minister has a point - however, she could have communicated her responses better. This is a sensitive matter. Ofcourse the NGO's are undermining the impact that illegal mining has on communities and the economy through their advocacy BUT l feel these illegal miners do not need any help! They went there alone without the States assistance. Why should the State using our taxes HELP those who actually do not pay tax?

    Funny how the NGO's are not naming, shaming or protesting the apparent mine owner Village Main Reef & their directors for allowing the mine shaft & it's surrounding area to be so unsecure, dangerous & open that allows zama zamas to easily access the mines.

    Somebody clarify this for me according to human rights lawyers, it is okay to commit crime because of hunger and poverty or is it because it involves mostly illegal foreigners now they step up but I did not see them doing the same when the children were killed by contaminated food in spaza shops something is not adding up here

    • @welakaz485
      @welakaz485 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @marcellinanzimande , do you really want to know ? . Te truth of the matter is first no normal person would love to subject themselves to that terrible ordeal. Working underground for months with the possibility of death. The truth is most of these people are local citizens who are desperate to simply make ends meet and take care of themselves and their families, some are innocent underage kids human trafficked from neighboring countries , some are criminals from neighboring countries , yes , but ask yourself how they are able to come to this country and get underground and get minerals out ? . 100 % sure they are many big guys who are involved in these shenanigans. It's inhuman to deliberately let people die regardless of whether they are criminals or not . The government was supposed to remove them out alive and deal with each individual one by one .

      @@welakaz485 FACT is most of people that are doing illegal mining in South Africa are illegal foreigners from our neighboring countries, it is also reported by the deputy police minister that most people that are still underground are not South Africans. Where did you get this fact of yours that "The truth is most of these people are local citizens"

    Why do so many ANC politicians have problems reading in words large amounts? Two million three hundred and twenty thousand five hundred and twelve rand ( for example)
    Remember Jacob Zuma bumbling with large numbers) . Do they know the difference between hundred thousands, millions and billions ?

    Aldrin Sampear seems desperate to play the blame game of government as if those so-called miners were not engaged in criminal activity by illegal mining. This is disappointing journalism, if at that he is an actual journalist.
