This cat is just the best blues singer, and a voice like velvet, he is and always will be my favorite, he is a home towner here in Spokane now , a great guy in person as well, keep it goin my friend..... from Dogtown Dan
Awesome monster CLASSIC song Tobacco Road: and done to the ulitimate Soulful groove perfection(s) by the legendary Lou RAWLS (originally) then the legendary Motown Rare Earth: I love "both" Classic versions, equally. But RARE EARTH-Peter Rivera/Drums-Lead Vocals to "Tobacco Road" from their Classic "Get Ready" album1969 version is my all time favorite. Great live performance above ..."MR. RIVERA you are Golden and "thanks" for sharing your Music gifts Worldwide.-God Bless
Thanks... I was looking for Rare Earth's 1970 cover, but Pete's cover is right in there. Now I want to listen to them side by side. I suspect Pete is embellishing Earth. Earth's is a little more traditional Old South Blues. FYI, they re-released it; the new one definitely doesn't measure up to this.
