A non-intimidating lightly paced overview to get started using the ER-301 Sound Computer.
-General layout and operation
-Basic Setup
-Goal: Setting up a chain to process external audio with additional control using external gate and CV

Perfect video and series! I'm blown away by this thing! I haven't been this excited since looking at game consoles in magazines as a kid! This is my new end goal for euro. I thought the menu diving would be bad but this is designed SO well! I know it's 4 years later but it's still appreciated!

I really like this a lot. I was looking at the Percussa SSP but i really like the 301. Would you recommend this over the Percussa SSP? i know the SSP is a lot newer but wow,,the ER-301 is so simple and interesting to use..

Hey Neil - I know this is a subjective, personal decision. But do you think these are worth the $1.7k - $2k people are asking for them? I am extremely tempted to sell off a large chunk of my modular and simplify my setup, building around this… Curious your take since they are going for about double retail…
Hrmm that's something I can't answer for you. I do feel that the prices people are asking are on the edge of insane. That being said, it's still my favourite module. So, if the 2 I had failed or blew up - i'd probably pay stupid money to get one. I'm hoping O|D us able to put them back in production next year at some point - but there's no word on that as of December 2022.

i have a question and not sure the ER-301 can do this but i am trying to calibrate my disting ex and need a cv signal that is 3v. is there a way for me to take a sine osc and tune it up to that spec and send it through the output jack? i dont need an audio signal just the voltage....i just sold my arturia keystep 37 and could have easily used that...thanks again for your time....
the outputs aren't DC coupled - so the 301 wont work for this, unfortunately.
@@NeilParfittMusic hello Neil. different question if you dont mind....i downloaded custom unit from forum and placed on sd card and inserted into unit. i can not find where there are instructions on how to make available so i can insert and save under new name and make accessible for future use. thanks for your help.
@@supright44 What version are you on? Units packages need to be installed - it's in the admin area. I'm not near the 301 atm but let me know if that gets you there.

how does the "orthogonal devices er-301" compare to the "percussa ssp"?
blue name that’s a complicated question as they’re really different in design philosophy. Put it this way, I have both and wouldn’t sell either of them.
So, it's a pretty deep, complicated DSP unit, yeah?
Kieren Moore you can go as deep as you want , but I wouldn’t say it’s complicated
I'm hesitating between a 301 and an Eloquencer. Can anyone lmk their 2 cents on this? There are a few testimonies on MW, but not much from users who had both.
Strateggo well - first and foremost the 301 isn’t a sequencer . Maybe you’re thinking of the er101?
