Looked at their schedule. I give them no more than 10. That's three more wins with Cousins than last year without him. Seems reasonable to me.

i’m a huge falcons fan and have gone to every game in the past how many years. this is the greatest analysis of an unbiased fan i’ve ever seen. while I see your point on our defensive line, I think having grady not being triple teamed will help with our new healthy additions. I also think we win the south and get bounced in the first round. we shall see if we don’t get hot after that 5 game winning streak at the end of the season. much love

I don’t think people quite realize how easy the Falcon’s schedule is. They only play 6 teams that made the playoffs last year, and only 3 teams that made it past the wildcard, being the two Bucs games and the Chiefs game, which they play at home. That with them having by far the worst division in the league, including 2 Panthers games, 12-13 wins is more than possible if things go their way.
🤣🤣🤣 at best they split with saints and bucs and lose 4 more games… 11-6 is their ceiling they could very well go 9-8 which I think is more likely and finishing second in the south

@@LogBitzWasntTaken nah 12+ is a pipe dream unless cousins takes a step forward out of the blue, pitts plays how they thought he would when they drafted him and drake london turns into a superstar along with the pass rush defense taking leaps and the offensive line was great at blocking for the run… not so much for protecting the QB and we all know Kirk doesn’t like pressure

I actually think the Falcons can be really great this year. None of my concern lies with the personnel. I think Kirk is a great QB (yeah I said it) and he has great weapons.
My only concern is the offensive play calling. Their offensive coordinator is Zac Robinson who to my knowledge a first time offensive coordinator. He coached under Sean McVay but still alot of questions
How about the defense? You think they can just put up 42 every week outscoring everyone?
@@GuRReN1495 No. Raheem Morris is a defensive guy. He's not the best Defensive Minds in the league but one of the best. Maybe Top 15 maybe. So it should at least be someone better than last year. Top 10? Probably doubt it
I think they’re gonna be solid throughout the year but the Bucs are still going to take it. A lot of those guys still have championship pedigree
Kirk is the r typical big numbers little results guy. Remember he had way more talent in Minnesota and couldn’t win there. Now he’s suppose to do more with less? Don’t buy it 😊

TBH I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Falcons end up with one of the top seeds. They have an insanely easy schedule and a bad division, I don’t think 12+ wins is at all unrealistic. That’s why I think it’s so frustrating that they took Penix when they are in a prime position to make a deep playoff run and could’ve taken Latu, Quinton Mitchell, or Rome to fill out their roster for a win now situation. It would be one thing if Penix was an insane upside prospect that fell into their lap and they’d be stupid to pass on him, but that’s just not the case with him. I don’t think it would be a bad pick either if it weren’t for the Kirk signing and they fully committed to the rebuild, but spending a top 8 pick in a contending window on a piece for the future just feels like such a waste.
Barring injuries Atlanta skill positions along with Kirk Cousins should be top 10 in ppg.Dynamic RB Bijan Robinson should explode this upcoming season. Darnell Mooney & Rondale Moore are legit 4.3 guys,will help to keep the safeties back. 10-7 win-loss record

Winning the division should be doable. But after that I don’t think they get past anything more than a divisional team.
You had some great thoughts about the falcons. I’m glad you pointed out the cornerback because even with Jeff Okuda there was a lot of holes in the secondary.

@@maskedman5657 Their OC is from the Rams. His name is Zac Robinson, he’s really good and actually he was my #1 choice to be my team’s OC. He will utilize Bijan, London, and Pitts without a doubt.
I got Bucs winning it and the Falcons fighting for a wild card. But both being around 9-8
@@overkill666100I think it could be close. If TB had kept their OC, I would pick them, too, as they have a better defense. But they have a new OC, and the Falcons have all new coaching, so I think it could go either way. If I had to bet, I. Would chose Falcons, as I think Cousins is significantly better than Mayfield.

our rushing struggles from last season had less to do with qb and more to do with smiths predictable playcalling. if allgeier is in the backfield it was a run in the box, if bijan was in the backfield it was a run outside.
qb respect definetly will help our running game this year but a chance in playcalling i feel is gonna be more impactful

I am a bit more pessimistic about the 2024 Falcons' ability to win the NFC South, because of how their defense may be lacking. It's not that I don't think that they have a shot, but, I am not sure if they deserve to be such a strong favorite.
What bothers me about the Michal Penix selection is that, that pick could have been used to get a pass rusher, or another player that could help them on defense. To me, it semed as if there was a disconnect in team building philosophy. To me, the Kirk Cousins signing represenred a sign that the front office felt that they were close to being a playoff contender (or more). So, why wouldn't you use that first round pick on a player that could help you for this year? On the other hand, if you felt that the team *wasn't* close to being a contender, then why spend so much on one player? In the case of that scrnario, then the Penix pick would make sense, as he can develop as the rest of the team builds.
Look I hope they do well except against my saints other than that i don't care
I honestly think the defense will look better this year. Raheem was praised for doing alot with the rams defense despite not much budget put towards it, and the main issue the falcons defense had last year was that they were CONSTANTLY on the field due to way too many 3 and outs, and turn overs. (Ridder had an equal amount of fumbles as he did interceptions as he did touchdowns.) The defense could not catch a breath. That effects play. I have high hopes for the defense this year.

I’m a Washington Commanders fan and I’ve watched every game Cousins has played in, including when in Minnesota. The guy is elite. He may not have the elite resume or accolades, but he is without a doubt an elite arm talent

I know you did this a month ago but with the additions to the Falcon's defense since the release of this video, are there any new perspectives on this teams 2024 outlook?
Just excited for Kyle Pitts to have a real chance to prove himself. We’ve always known about the talent but understood he was fighting an uphill battle with poor QB play. Hope he has a great year
Atlanta Falcons and Lamajditwin have something common...we're both on a journey of reaching that brass ring of abundance. Finally getting over the hump and taking advantage of the shining momentum. It doesn't last forever. Gotta get it while you can. There is no other way....but to Rise like a Phoenix and take it.
D-Line is a concern for the team, but I could see the Falcons poking around during the trade deadline for help there.

As a Bears fan, they will be fine. They drafted a few guys which seem pretty good. If they don't work out, next years draft class is gonna be insane when it comes to D-Line. Probably one of the reasons why they didn't take an edge in the first round this year

I think it is a legit possibility that Penix is j clearly the better QB in training camp and ends up starting the majority of the season. Not probable but I think there’s a 30% chance that happens

@@coasterkamikaze6812 He's coming off a Achilles tear. No guarantee he is even healthy. That is a major injury that can lead to back problems and other leg problems. I could see Phenix getting major playing time.
Cousins will not be benched unless he is terrible. I don't see it happening. What will probably happen is he gets injured during the season.
I do think Cousins' decline starts this season, but I do think he'll hold off Penix at least for this season.
Next season is another matter entirely
Even if Penix is clearly better in camp, Kirk will 100% be the week 1 starter. The entire front office would be fired if they gave him that massive contract and he never even started. Even if it’s just to save face, Kirk will be the week 1 starter, unless he is hurt.
Very excited for the falcons season , die hard fan and not trying to be bias but this defense will take a jump imo .
I just hope the new offense lets him throw the deep ball. Too many teams have a deep threat QB and then force them into short pass west coast type offense.

Lets see, QB over 30 coming off severe injury that was notoriously known for doing nothing in the playoffs, a head coach who's only experience was flopping like a fish in Tampa Bay, and supporting cast thats been overhyped year after year only to come away with nothing.
You're looking at 9 wins maximum
I could see if Morris never had a winning season… but he did that with Josh Freeman. I could see if Morris never saw any playoff success… but he won a championship as a defensive coordinator.
Morris isn’t the weak link here.
The supporting cast is only as good as the point guard. You could have Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens on the same team, but Jamarcus Russell not be able to get them the ball.

They should win the South with how weak it is, but the Penix decision inherently hurt their ceiling. The Falcons aren’t picking a side between trying to win now and trying to prepare for the future. If they wanted to make a legitimate run this year, then Rome, Latu, or Quinyon Mitchell all would’ve been better picks to round out the roster. If they wanted to prepare for the future, then signing Kirk makes absolutely no sense. Either option is a valid option, but trying to do both at the same time just isn’t possible and more than likely will lead to neither path working out.

The fact that they were 3-4 plays away from winning the division with probably the worst QB in the league last year, and they now have a guy who at the very least is capable of playing at a top 10 level, they should be drastically better.

The team will have a much improved offense, but wasting their 1st round pick and not drafting a quality edge rusher will come back to haunt them. They also downgraded at DC so while the offense will fly high this year the defense is going to have a long year.

Falcons fans are confident, but remember, they also said they would win the division with Desmond Ridder. The QB is better, but they lost significant contributors to the pass rush in Bud Dupree and Calais Campbell. Falcons fans are delusional and think that if you don't predict them to win 10+ games, they think everyone is a hater. They aren't better (on paper) than Tampa Bay. It's a 9 win team, but they have major question marks that their fans will never admit.

The people who compare the Packers QB situation (the Falcons' apologists) leave out that GB was just in the NFC championship game with an all pro and JLove had almost no experience.
The Falcons drafted a QB who should probably beat out Cousins. They created a QB controversy without addressing other needs. They could still win that terrible division though.
The way I'm looking at it (As a Falcons apologist/fan) is that since we have had bad quarterback play for YEARS now, I'm honestly okay with trying to address the QB situation for the now and hopefully the next 5-10 years and build our defence piece by piece over this offseason and next year/offseason. Sadly, I don't think we'll seriously compete this year (1st round playoff exit is my prediction) but if we take that momentum and keep building then in a year or two we could be one of the big dawgs in the NFC.

Bottom line is, for anyone having high expectations for this Falcons team, has never followed Kirk Cousins. He will hold them back and the defensive head coach won't help. I believe 10 wins is the ceiling for this team. They'd be better off treating Kirk as a bridge and play Penix sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, the contract doesn't allow that.
Must have only watched playoff Kirk. Also, dude does not understand contracts lol. They literally cannot afford to not play Kirk unless they want to have zero money to spend when/if Penix takes over.

I’m not seeing how when Pitts and London are a QB with accuracy away, and even if we had to still run it 60%, Bijan and Allgeier would just be the best tandem in football this year.

They have no pass rush. That would improve the defense tremendously. The defense was good enough against bad teams only
